Quantum Entanglement as Geometric Irreducibility and the Uniqueness of Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹

Abstract

Quantum mechanics, gauge theory, and general relativity have recently been derived as regime-dependent limits of gradient flow on a compact Kähler manifold. In that framework, six structural conditions identified the product geometry M = Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹ as the unique candidate consistent with physical observations. This paper shows that those six conditions reduce to two axioms: (1) Physical dynamics is the negative gradient flow of a moment map component on a compact Kähler manifold.(2) Each irreversible recording event is a single, irreducible binary act on ℂP¹. From these axioms, three results follow. First, the admissible geometry is uniquely determined. The irreducibility requirement forces the tangent weight lattice to be non-decomposable, eliminating all compact Kähler threefolds except the flag manifold Fl₁,₂(ℂ³). Combined with the ℂP¹ recording sector, this yields the unique solution M = Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹. Second, quantum entanglement is identified as a topological property rather than a dynamical one. The cohomology ring of Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) satisfies the Weyl relation x² + xy + y² = 0, which prevents factorization of internal quantum numbers. Entanglement therefore originates from geometric irreducibility of the configuration space, not from state preparation. Third, the recording sphere ℂP¹_rec and the canonical fiber ℂP¹_fib of the flag manifold are shown to be isomorphic as Hamiltonian U(1) spaces. Measurement is thus internal to the geometry: the recorder is realized as a fiber of the configuration space itself. The observer–system distinction is topologically obstructed. The framework eliminates the landscape of possible geometries and introduces no free parameters. The Standard Model geometry emerges as the unique fixed point of a self-consistency condition in which the recording structure determines the manifold and the manifold returns the recording structure.

Spacetime from the Contraction of Possibility on Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹

Harold D. Kirk

This paper derives the Lorentzian structure and dimensionality of spacetime from irreversible record formation on a compact Kähler configuration space. Building on a programme in which physical law emerges from the contraction of possibility under irreversible measurement events, the framework begins with the configuration manifold M = Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹ and a bridge law governing the depletion of accessible states. The bridge law relates the contraction rate of the possibility measure Ω to the local rate of irreversible record formation Γ through d/dτ ln Ω = −κΓ where κ = π arises as the Fubini–Study volume of CP¹. Physical time is identified with the contraction of possibility, dt = −kₜ d ln Ω. From this relation the paper derives several structural results: • The temporal one-form θ = −d ln Ω defines a canonical causal ordering on the event manifold.• Finite record-propagation speed produces a cone field whose compatible quadratic form has Lorentzian signature.• Quantisation of the entropy screen measure in Planck area units implies that spatial dimension must be d = 3.• Among simple Lie groups, SU(3) uniquely matches the resulting spatial dimensionality through the dimension of its flag manifold. The resulting (3+1)-dimensional Lorentzian spacetime therefore appears not as a fundamental arena but as the structural residue of irreversible contraction on configuration space. The manifold furnishes structured possibility, the Fubini sphere furnishes recordability, and spacetime is the ordered geometry of irreversible configuration selection Within the broader research programme, the same geometric framework has previously produced quantitative predictions for fundamental constants, particle masses, the Born rule, and semiclassical gravitational dynamics without adjustable parameters. This paper closes the remaining gap by deriving the causal structure and dimensionality of spacetime itself from the same mechanism.

Foundations of the Measurement–State Geometry Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹: From Decoherence to Emergent Spacetime

Harold D. Kirk

This paper develops the measurement-and-record architecture of the Gradient Flow programme on the configuration manifold M = Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹, and identifies precisely where the remaining empirical input resides. Its organizing conclusion is a form-versus-scale separation: the geometry of M fixes the form of every sector, while physical content enters through only two scales, one on each J-conjugate face of the moment-map flow — the action quantum ℏ on the conservative face, and a record-formation susceptibility γ₀ on the dissipative face. The central falsifiable prediction is a parameter-free decoherence law. Pointer states separated by moment-map gap μᵢ − μⱼ lose coherence at rate Γᵢⱼ = (γ₀/2)(μᵢ − μⱼ)²: a single measured decay rate fixes γ₀, and the squared-separation scaling of every other pair is then parameter-free. The framework is falsified if pointer-basis decoherence does not scale as the square of the moment-map separation, whatever the value of γ₀. This is the geometric (form) prediction; γ₀ (the scale) is not determined by the geometry. Several foundational results support the separation. The programme's entanglement relation x² + xy + y² = 0 is shown to be exactly the degree-two cohomology relation of the flag, equivalently the third cyclotomic polynomial Φ₃, placing entanglement, flag cohomology, and the S₃-equipartition structure on a common Z₃ ⊂ S₃ spine; the second homology H₂(M; ℤ) ≅ ℤ³ separates the two internal Schubert measurement classes from the external ℂP¹ recording class; the measurement dimension n = 3 is selected rather than assumed; and the bridge-law scalar ln Ω is typed as a global moment-map Hamiltonian, with Γ typed independently as a record-formation rate — defining Γ from −κ⁻¹ d ln Ω/dτ would make the bridge law tautological. Under the independent typing the geometry fixes the form of decoherence but not its magnitude, which is the input γ₀, the dissipative counterpart of ℏ. On this foundation the paper builds an explicit architecture. A CPTP dephasing-realizability theorem shows the flag-side product-of-gaps rates admit a completely positive Markovian unraveling if and only if the observable is recording-proportional, A = αρ + βI. Conditional on a binary write interaction, the real polarization ℝP¹ forces its operator form uniquely to P ⊗ σ_y with intensity γ₀, and the resulting quantum-state-diffusion produces definite outcomes with Born weights as hitting probabilities; a dilation theorem recasts repeated "fresh probe" registers as the future-vacuum factorization of a minimal one-channel Fock dilation on record time T = −μξ. The conversion to spacetime is made precise: the flow preserves the real Lagrangian locus 𝔏 = Fl₁,₂(ℝ³) × ℝP¹, equipped by ϑ = −d ln Ω with a canonical Lorentzian conformal structure, and a Łojasiewicz argument upgrades invariance to global capture — every recording-gradient trajectory terminates on 𝔏, so emergent spacetime is the real shadow of the complex Kähler manifold. A programmatic epilogue (explicitly outside the proof stack) identifies the neutrino sector as the unique place a propagating record modulus could surface — one empirical scale with three faces (∼98 meV, ∼22 μm, ∼24 THz).

Quantum Mechanics as Dimensional Projection: A Geometric Derivation from Compact Extra Dimensions

Abraham J. Letter

This paper proves that quantum mechanics emerges as a mathematical necessity when a deterministic classical system possesses compact Kähler dimensions inaccessible to observation. The proof rests on three independent results from established mathematics: Spectral discreteness: The spectral theorem for elliptic operators on compact manifolds guarantees a discrete eigenspectrum, producing superposition and complex phase structure. The uncertainty principle: The Gromov non-squeezing theorem establishes an irreducible lower bound on observable uncertainties, with Planck's constant identified as the symplectic capacity of the compact space. The Born rule: The unique Kähler-compatible L² inner product determines the probability rule P = |ψ|² with no alternatives. Together, these results demonstrate that the complete axiomatic structure of quantum mechanics — complex Hilbert space, superposition, interference, the uncertainty principle, the Born rule, and entanglement — is a necessary consequence of dimensional projection rather than a set of independent postulates. The paper further shows that: The complex numbers in quantum mechanics originate from the complex structure (J) of the compact manifold, providing a geometric explanation for recent experiments ruling out real-valued quantum mechanics (Renou et al., Nature 2021; Chen et al., PRL 2022). Unitary time evolution arises because the complex structure converts what would otherwise be dissipative dynamics into probability-preserving oscillation. The number field of quantum mechanics (real, complex, or quaternionic) is determined by the topology of the compact dimensions (Riemannian, Kähler, or hyperkähler respectively), making laboratory quantum experiments probes of extra-dimensional geometry. CPT symmetry corresponds to orientation-invariance of the compact manifold, connecting discrete symmetry tests to the topology of the extra dimensions. The theorem requires no physical assumptions beyond the existence of inaccessible compact Kähler dimensions. It applies to any number of dimensions, any compact Kähler geometry, and any deterministic dynamics. The paper concludes that quantum mechanics is not a law of nature but a law of perspective — the second such law in physics, following relativity. Where relativity revealed that the separation of spacetime into space and time is observer-dependent, this work shows that the separation of dynamics into deterministic and probabilistic is equally observer-dependent. Quantum Information as Geometric Residue on Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹

Harold D. Kirk

Quantum information theory is traditionally formulated on projective state spaces, where the qubit is a point in ℂP¹. We introduce a new computational primitive—"the flubit"—defined as a point in the flag manifold Fl₁,₂(ℂ³), representing a line ℓ inside a plane P in ℂ³. This extends the hierarchy: bit → qubit → qutrit → flubit{0,1} → ℂP¹ → ℂP² → Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) Unlike projective spaces, the flag manifold carries intrinsic hierarchy: coarse (plane), fine (line), and their coupling via connection curvature Ω. We construct the Fisher information geometry of Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) and show it decomposes into base, fiber, and cross-term contributions. The cross-term vanishes for separable states and is nonzero precisely when the Weyl relation x² + xy + y² = 0 is activated. This yields a reinterpretation: entanglement is not a relation between subsystems, but the internal coherence of a single flubit. Standard two-qubit entanglement arises as the residual correlation left after projecting away the flag structure. We define the flubit–projective gap Δ(ψ), the excess Fisher information accessible through hierarchical measurements beyond independent projective ones. Δ(ψ) quantifies entanglement and provides a candidate measure of quantum computational advantage. On the product manifold M = Fl₁,₂(ℂ³) × ℂP¹, three structures coincide: Kähler geometry = quantized phase space (Kay) = information geometry (Fisher/Braunstein–Caves) Finally, we compute the Ricci curvature of the flag Fisher metric and show its eigenvalue structure constrains the gauge coupling hierarchy, with the Einstein constant λ = 2 emerging as the Ricci normalization. The flubit is the first non-projective computational primitive, and the flag manifold provides the minimal geometry where hierarchy, entanglement, and information are unified.
