With a rising percentage of enterprise 5G installations, studies on 6G as well have begun seriously. While it is far too premature to predict when or how 6G networks will appear, it can be predicted that 6G platforms are going to allow applications enabled by technological innovations and network designs. Simultaneous with the expansion of cell phone networks from 5G to 6G, quantum communication networks have developed quickly in the last decade. In 6G, quantum communication technologies might offer an unparalleled degree of safety, keeping private information safe from prospective listeners. Furthermore, the utilization of photonics provides rapid communication with minimal latency, thereby increasing the system's overall effectiveness. Photonics is critical in quantum systems for communication. Quantum data is encoded and transmitted using photons. Yet, various security vulnerabilities affecting both encryption and authentication mechanisms are being investigated. As a result, procedures based on quantum communication equipment are being investigated in order to enhance safety. As a result, this summary gives a comprehensive overview of the characterization of quantum communication systems using photonics in a 6G system. In this survey, we discuss the machine learning, deep learning, and cryptography-based strategies for building safe and reliable quantum communication networks are separated and stated, and trends in every direction for quantum communication network trust management are comprehensively investigated. Following that, the sources of data along with simulation tools, such as QKDNetSim, OMNeT++, and QX Simulator, are to be investigated and classified. In conclusion, quantum communication technologies in a 6G system have enormous promise for redefining safe communication, creating a fascinating topic for academics and researchers worldwide to examine.
