Entanglement dynamics in dispersive optomechanics: Nonclassicality and revival

Igor Brandão, Bruno B. Suassuna, Bruno Melo +1 more

We study entanglement dynamics in a dispersive optomechanical system consisting of two optical modes and a mechanical oscillator inside an optical cavity. The two optical modes interact with the mechanical oscillator, but not directly with each other. The appearance of optical entanglement witnesses nonclassicality of the oscillator. We study the dependence of the entanglement dynamics on the optomechanical coupling, the mean photon number in the cavity, and the oscillator temperature. An experimental realization with ultracold atomic ensembles is proposed.

Exact quantum-statistical dynamics of an oscillator with time-dependent frequency and generation of nonclassical states

G. S. Agarwal, Satish Kumar

Exact results on the time evolution of the density matrix and the Wigner function for an oscillator with time-dependent frequency are given. Explicit time dependence is given for the case of linear sweep of the restoring force. Such a sweep is shown to generate states of the oscillator with remarkable nonclassical properties such as squeezing and sub-Poissonian character.

Optical perspective on the time-dependent Dirac oscillator

Thiago T. Tsutsui, Alison A. Silva, Antonio S. M. de Castro +1 more

The Dirac oscillator is a relativistic quantum system, characterized by its linearity in both position and momentum. Moreover, considering $(1{+}1)$ and $(2{+}1)$ dimensions, the system can be mapped onto the Jaynes-Cummings and anti-Jaynes-Cummings models, as illustrated in an exact manner by Bermudez \textit{et al.} [\href{ https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.76.041801}{Phys. Rev. A 76, 041801(R) (2007)}]. Using the optical counterparts of the Dirac oscillator, we analyze an extension of the model that incorporates a time-dependent frequency. We focus on the consequences of these time modulations on the angular momentum observables and spin-orbit entanglement. Noticeable changes in the \emph{Zitterbewegung} are found. We show that a specific choice of time dependence yields aperiodic evolution of the observables, whereas an alternative choice allows analytical solutions.
