Medium Theory SMT Research №18 The Double-Slit Experiment as Dynamics of the Physical Medium Φ

Abstract

Abstract In this work, the double-slit experiment is analyzed within the framework of Medium Theory SMT, where space-time is described as a nonlinear physical medium Φ. Instead of treating interference as a purely probabilistic quantum phenomenon, SMT interprets the observed pattern as the result of coherent phase dynamics and elastic deformations of the underlying medium. It is shown that propagating δΦ-perturbations naturally produce interference structures through phase coherence and nonlinear medium response, while localized particle-like configurations correspond to stable topological excitations of Φ. The emergence of the standard interference law follows directly from the medium dynamics without invoking wavefunction collapse or intrinsic randomness. The SMT description provides a unified physical mechanism for wave–particle duality, coherence loss, and pattern formation in the double-slit experiment, linking quantum behavior to deterministic field dynamics of the physical medium.

Fluid-Dynamic Reinterpretation of the Double-Slit Experiment: Pressure Perturbations, Incompressible Media, and Measurement Mechanics

rafik hamdi

Standard quantum mechanics interprets the double-slit experiment through the lens of wave-particle duality, asserting that entities propagate as probability waves and collapse into discrete particles solely upon observation. However, this interpretation evades direct physical and mechanical causality by relying on abstract mathematics and assumed vacuums. This paper introduces a rigorous fluid-dynamic framework, grounded in the principles of **Dark Primordialism**, which posits that the universe operates exclusively through concrete hydraulic interactions. By replacing the probabilistic wave function with a continuous, incompressible cosmic fluid medium, we demonstrate that interference patterns are not emergent from abstract "wave collapse," but are the mechanical result of pressure-field superposition. The core overlapping pressure mechanics driving this phenomenon is formulated as: P_overlap = Sf ⊕ Mr = Φ + ((∇ρ_solar * ∇ρ_lunar) / R_medium) This paper provides: 1. A mechanical explanation for the interference pattern based on pressure streamlines. 2. A deterministic resolution to the "observer effect" through physical measurement perturbation. 3. Clear, testable experimental predictions regarding medium density modification and resistance gradients.

DOUBLE SLIT EXPERIMENT AND WAVE-PARTICLE DUALITY

V. Abbasov

Abstract The double-slit experiment is a classic experiment that presents the clearest manifestation of wave-particle duality, one of the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics. The double-slit experiment still remains the phenomenon that demonstrates wave-particle duality at the most fundamental level. This phenomenon quantitatively and conceptually demonstrates that microscopic objects can behave like both waves and particles at the same time. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the physical nature of dualism, the mechanism of formation of the interference pattern, and the impact of the act of observation on the dynamics of quantum systems. The need for a new perspective on this topic is due to the fact that the current uncertainty in the interpretation of quantum reality has not yet been completely eliminated, and the boundaries between classical and quantum behavior in microscopic objects are still being explored. The results presented here restructure the deep mechanisms of the interference picture, more clearly frame the relationship between observation and wavefunction collapse, and provide a quantum. Since the article attempts to provide a complete answer to the mechanism of the formation of wave-particle duality, extensive space is given to sections such as historical development, theoretical models, modern research, etc. New approaches to this phenomenon have been developed using modern research and string theory. As a result, a new mathematical expression has been proposed that explains the reasons for the initial emergence of wave-particle duality, and is also important for string theory. The article explains the measurement problem with a more effective physical structure and ontological model.

Demystifying Superposition and Wave-Particle Duality: The Double-Slit Experiment in the Absolute Medium Framework

SREEMAN BARUA

The double-slit experiment stands as the cornerstone of quantum mysticism, often interpreted as evidence for particles existing in multiple places simultaneously or consciousness collapsing reality. Within the Absolute Medium (AM) Model, this experiment ceases to be a probabilistic paradox and becomes a deterministic, fluid-dynamic interaction between a moving excitation and the universal energetic net. We demonstrate that what standard physics calls “wave-particle duality” is actually “core-wake duality”: a localized topological defect (the core) moving through an ultra-dense elastic substrate generates a physical wave field (the wake) that interferes, guiding the core along paths of least resistance. All variations of the experiment— which-way measurements, delayed choice, quantum eraser—receive mechanical explanations grounded in the medium’s properties. This framework eliminates the need for superposition, wavefunction collapse, or observer-created reality, replacing them with the coherent dynamics of a continuous medium.

H-SET:Space Medium Explanation of the Double-Slit Interference Experiment: A Quantitative Scientific Brief of the Huaxia Spacetime Total Conservation Theory

Changxi Hong

The double-slit interference experiment remains one of the most puzzling phenomena in quantum mechanics. Standard quantum mechanics explains it through wave-particle duality, superposition, and wavefunction collapse—all mathematical postulates without physical mechanisms. Within the Huaxia Spacetime Total Conservation Theory (H-SET), the electron is not a point particle but a helical dislocation loop in the space medium with spatial extension determined by the space quantum coherence scale. Interference arises because the elastic field of a single electron loop simultaneously covers both slits, and the two emergent elastic waves interfere on the screen. The effective de Broglie wavelength is derived as the geometric extension of the dislocation loop in the momentum direction, yielding identical numerical values to standard quantum mechanics but with a physical origin. Observation-induced disappearance of interference is explained as the destruction of elastic boundary conditions at the slits by the macroscopic elastic field of the detector, not by mysterious wavefunction collapse. Three testable predictions are provided: precise fringe spacing for fullerene (C₆₀) interference, the quantitative relationship between path distinguishability and fringe visibility, and the mass limit for macromolecular interference.

XLG-MQT, Paper IX: Medium Origin of Quantum Interference Paradoxes — Unifying Single-Electron Double-Slit, Delayed-Choice, Quantum Eraser and Quantum Zeno Effect

Lingguang Xu

Traditional quantum mechanics interprets double-slit interference, delayed-choice experiment, quantum eraser experiment, and quantum Zeno effect as fundamental counter-intuitive characteristics of microscopic quantum systems. The conventional framework relies on wave-particle duality, abstract wavefunction collapse, observer-dependent quantum state switching, and information-dominated physical behavior. This paper abandons the traditional assumption of empty vacuum and wave-particle duality. Based on the discrete, elastic, compressible KuiQuark sea medium model, we provide a fully classical, deterministic, mechanical unification of the four core quantum interference phenomena. All quantum paradoxes are eliminated completely. The so-called quantum wave behavior is not an intrinsic property of microscopic particles, but a macroscopic statistical effect induced by particle-excited medium secondary waves and medium ordered structures in vacuum. We further classify two independent physical mechanisms of interference: multi-photon strong-light interference originates from the superposition of helical trajectories of real photon spherical shell clusters, while single-electron sequential interference originates purely from the coherent superposition of KuiQuark medium secondary waves. The delayed-choice effect contains no retro-causality; it only destroys the existing ordered medium channel field after the particle has passed the slit. The quantum eraser effect is a precise mechanical reverse compensation of medium deformation, realizing reversible recovery of medium coherence. The quantum Zeno effect is a dual mechanical locking mechanism: continuous high-frequency detection disrupts balanced medium distribution and forms large-scale reverse medium impact force, which counteracts the forward kinetic energy of particles and freezes microscopic evolution. This study fundamentally eliminates the non-classical hypothesis of traditional quantum mechanics and provides a new deterministic medium-based physical foundation for microscopic interference and quantum observation effects.

How Could Classical Electrons Acquire Double-Slit Quantum Interference via Interacting with Stochastic Quantum Fields

Jau Tang, Chien-Cheng Chang

Quantum interference is traditionally interpreted as evidence of intrinsic wave–particle duality, invoking self-interference and wavefunction superposition. Here, we propose an alternative causal framework in which interference arises from interactions between a classical electron and a quantized electromagnetic field. In this picture, electrons follow definite, localized trajectories and produce discrete detection events, while the observed interference pattern emerges statistically from stochastic, nonlocal momentum transfers mediated by quantized field modes. Numerical simulations of the double-slit experiment show that dot-like interference fringes arise without invoking wavefunction collapse or intrinsic matter waves. Doubling the electron mass narrows the fringe spacing in agreement with de Broglie scaling, indicating that the effective wavelength emerges dynamically from particle–field coupling rather than representing an inherent property of the particle. The formulation is based on a rigorously defined Hamiltonian and derived equations describing electromagnetic coupling between particles and the slit environment. Although neutral particles such as neutrons or atoms carry no net charge monopoles, they possess electric or magnetic dipole and higher multipole moments that enable electromagnetic interactions with the slit apparatus, allowing discrete momentum transfer through the quantized field. Our simulations show that interference fringes arise from intermittent singleparticle detection events caused by stochastic momentum impulses from quantized electromagnetic modes. These results suggest a reinterpretation of wave–particle duality: the apparent wave-like behavior of matter may arise from interaction with the inherently wave-like quantized electromagnetic field—whose quanta are photons, the massless U(1)-gauge bosons—rather than from an intrinsic wave nature of the particles themselves. Our analysis is rigorous and is not speculative, because the proposed Hamiltonian for this system is physical. Within this nonlocal hidden-variable framework, the dot-like interference pattern observed in the double-slit experiment emerges from individual electrons traversing one slit at a time while receiving discrete momentum impulses from stochastic, spatially extended quantized electromagnetic fields.
