Unlocking the Power of Quantum Computing for Big Data Processing and Advanced Analytics

Arshi Jamal

In the era of data-driven decision-making, the exponential growth of data has posed unprecedented challenges for traditional computing methods. Big Data, characterized by vast volumes, high velocity, and diverse formats, demands innovative approaches to processing and analytics. Quantum computing, a disruptive technology harnessing the principles of quantum mechanics, offers a promising solution to tackle these challenges. This research provides a concise overview of the potential of quantum computing in the context of Big Data processing and analytics. We explore how quantum computing's unique properties, such as superposition and entanglement, can revolutionize data handling and analysis. Quantum algorithms, like Grover's and Shor's algorithms, are introduced as powerful tools for searching and factoring large datasets, respectively, with remarkable speedups compared to classical counterparts. Quantum machine learning algorithms, such as quantum support vector machines and quantum neural networks, demonstrate the potential to unlock insights from vast datasets more efficiently than classical counterparts. Quantum computing also promises to enhance data security through quantum-resistant encryption schemes, addressing the vulnerabilities of classical cryptography.

Harnessing Quantum Cloud Computing for Big Data Management in Libraries: Opportunities and Threats

Bolaji David Oladokun, Rexwhite Tega Enakrire, Kingsley Nwadiuto Igwe +1 more

In this chapter, we report on the potential of quantum cloud computing in managing big data in academic libraries. The idea that brought this initiative is to assess the opportunities and challenges that quantum cloud computing provides to libraries. We employed interpretative content analysis to review literature from databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. About 42 studies related to quantum computing, cloud computing, and big data management in libraries were reviewed to understand the relevance and implications of quantum cloud computing for library operations. The study finds that quantum cloud computing holds significant potential for revolutionising big data management in libraries. The chapter maintains that quantum cloud computing offers faster data processing, more efficient storage solutions, and advanced data analytics that enable libraries to manage vast datasets with increased accuracy and speed. However, several barriers remain, including high costs, technical expertise gaps, data security challenges, and integration with existing library infrastructures. This study appears to the authors to be the first of its kind to explore the potential of quantum cloud computing for managing big data in libraries. More so, this study also contributes a novel perspective on the emerging research on quantum cloud technologies in the global parlance. The study's findings emphasise the critical need for further empirical research and the development of practical frameworks to support the successful implementation of quantum cloud computing in libraries. Additionally, it offers valuable insights into how libraries can address existing challenges and harness the unique capabilities of quantum cloud computing to enhance big data management.

Research on Quantum Secure Route Model and Line Model Image Encryption Technology Based on Big Data Technology

Lian Tong, Pingping Xia, Taizhi Lv

At present, the mature application of computer network and digitized information are increasingly popular, people's ability to crack encryption algorithms, and the traditional key system cannot guarantee the absolute security of the information system. This paper, on the data encryption of big data, data integrity and data disaster backup technology and quantum communication security of quantum key distribution, direct communication and quantum secret security sharing technology, proposed a quantum security computing route model based on the management condition of data authentication center. Based on the route model, this paper studies the image encryption technology of the linear model of quantum security computing from different technical perspectives to ensure the security of image information.
