This Bachelor thesis explores and clarifies the workings of quantum computer science. The first part of the work clarifies the fundamentals of quantum mechanics, which need to be known for understanding the following fundamentals of quantum informatics. In these bases are clarified expressions such as quantum bit, quantum logic gates, and many other properties of the quantum world (both positive and negative). The most famous algorithms, which are based on quantum computing, are also given for the idea. Another of the goals of the job is to explore and familiarize the IBM QX platform. You can learn about quantum circuits on this and use shared quantum computers in the cloud to run your own quantum circuits. The last part is the development of an application to solve the problem of the business traveller. An algorithm that works on a classical computer has been selected. Then quantum computing was plugged into an algorithm for acceleration. Finally, user interface creation followed. The application shows the workings of quantum computing rather than that it could be applicable in practice. Once redesigned, it could be used in logistics.

The main goal of this thesis is to give information on quantum computer principles and its latest development. In the first part we introduce quantum bits, quantum registers and quantum gates. We show basic operations acting on one and more qubits. On an example we present, how it is possible to construct an arbitrary gate using only elementary quantum gates. We describe a behaviour of quantum computers called quantum parallelism and show its application in Deutsch's algorithm. We define the quantum Fourier transform and its applications. In the last chapter we explain on what principle the D-Wave quantum computer works. In this thesis we compare classical and quantum computers in terms of algorithms and computational speed.
Abstract This practical guide provides a detailed introduction to quantum logic gates and unitary operators as implemented on the IBM Q platform. It focuses on the fundamental gate structures used in quantum programming, particularly within the Composer interface, and provides screenshots and detailed descriptions of each operator’s functionality. The guide emphasizes the operational role of gates in controlling qubit states and constructing quantum circuits. To enhance understanding, the behavior of gates is visualized on the Bloch sphere, demonstrating how single-qubit operations rotate qubit states around the XXX, YYY, and ZZZ axes, as well as how phase shifts and amplitude adjustments modify the qubit. These operations are essential for measurement, state preparation, and precise manipulation of quantum systems. The relevance of this study is underscored by the rapid development of quantum technologies and the increasing accessibility of quantum computing platforms like IBM Q. A thorough understanding of quantum gates and their implementations is critical for advancing quantum algorithm design and for training specialists capable of deploying quantum computational solutions in fields ranging from cryptography to complex physical system simulations. This guide provides both theoretical insights and practical exercises, bridging the gap between abstract quantum mechanics and applied quantum programming, thereby equipping readers with foundational skills for effective circuit construction and quantum computation.

By the end of this paper, readers will have a solid understanding of quantum computing’s principles, applications, and the steps involved in developing quantum circuits. Our goal is to provide a valuable resource for those eager to embark on their quantum computing journey and for researchers looking to stay updated on this rapidly evolving field.
In this research notebook on quantum computation and applications for quantum engineers, researchers, and scientists, we will discuss and summarized the core principles and practical application areas of quantum computation. We first discuss the historical prospect from which quantum computing emerged from the early days of computing before the dominance of modern microprocessors. And the re-emergence of that quest with the sunset of Moore's law in the current decade. The mapping of computation onto the behavior of physical systems is a historical challenge vividly illustrate by considering how quantum bits may be realized with a wide variety of physical systems, spanning from atoms to photons, using semiconductors and superconductors. The computing algorithms also change with the underline variety of physical systems and the possibility of encoding the information in the quantum systems compared to the ordinary classical computers because of these new abilities afforded by quantum systems. We will also consider the emerging engineering, science, technology, business, and social implications of these advancements. We will describe a substantial difference between quantum and classical computation paradigm. After we will discuss and understand engineering challenges currently faced by developers of the real quantum computation system. We will evaluate the essential technology required for quantum computers to be able to function correctly. Later on, discuss the potential business application, which can be touch by these new computation capabilities. We utilize the IBM Quantum Experience to run the real-world problem, although on a small scale.
