The question of how probabilistic systems select individual outcomes remains conceptually open in several areas of physics and complex systems theory. Standard decoherence models successfully describe the emergence of classical behavior from quantum systems, yet they generally treat the selection of specific outcomes as statistically neutral once the probabilistic structure is fixed. The present work is motivated by the possibility that probabilistic selection processes may, under certain conditions, exhibit weak forms of context dependence without requiring any violation of standard probabilistic laws. Rather than proposing a replacement for established physical theory, the paper explores whether minimal and formally controlled modifications of probabilistic weighting could provide a useful phenomenological framework for describing such effects. The approach is intentionally conservative in scope. Its purpose is not to claim evidence for new physics, but to investigate whether concepts such as context, structural compatibility, and informational coupling can be represented within a mathematically bounded probabilistic setting. This preprint proposes a minimal framework for modeling context-dependent selection in probabilistic systems. While standard decoherence theory explains the emergence of classical behavior from quantum systems, it does not specify whether the selection of individual outcomes is entirely neutral or may be weakly influenced by additional constraints. The present work explores the possibility that probabilistic state selection could exhibit small context-dependent biases without modifying the underlying probabilistic structure. To formalize this idea, the model introduces a resonance function that weakly reweights baseline transition probabilities in a controlled and non-disruptive manner. A dynamic extension is considered in which probabilities and resonance co-evolve through simple feedback, damping, and context-dependent source terms. Analytical considerations and numerical simulations indicate that such systems can produce small but systematic and bounded deviations from baseline distributions. Under certain conditions, these deviations may stabilize, leading to attractor-like behavior. The framework is intended as an exploratory and phenomenological model, not as a modification of established physical theory. Its purpose is to provide a formal setting for investigating whether context, information, and structural compatibility can be represented within probabilistic state selection. A possible connection to underlying physical processes was considered in earlier work (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17246478). In the present paper, however, this line of interpretation is not pursued further and remains speculative. Keywords: decoherence; probability dynamics; attractors; resonance; complex systems; information theory Version note:This version presents a revised and clarified formulation of the proposed framework. In particular, the formal structure has been made more explicit by refining key derivation steps, clarifying the role of the resonance term, and tightening the interpretation of the model within its intended scope. No fundamental change to the core idea has been introduced. The revision primarily sharpens the probabilistic formulation, reduces ambiguity in the definition of the resonance function, and makes the exploratory and phenomenological status of the model more explicit.
Quantum decoherence is conventionally understood as an environment-induced loss of phase coherence, described operationally through reduced density matrices and effective noise models. While this framework successfully captures how decoherence occurs, it leaves open the deeper physical question of why quantum phase coherence is generically fragile and lacks intrinsic protection. In this work, we propose a reinterpretation of decoherence within the Temporal Theory of the Universe (TTU), where time is treated as a physical field rather than an external parameter. We argue that decoherence can be understood as a manifestation of temporal-field inhomogeneity: a breakdown of global phase synchronization caused by spatial and temporal gradients of the underlying time field. Within this perspective, environmental noise and non-Markovian effects emerge as effective descriptions of deeper temporal misalignment rather than fundamental sources of randomness. We demonstrate how temporal-field inhomogeneity naturally induces phase damping in the reduced density matrix, leading to decoherence without invoking irreversible information loss. The framework remains fully compatible with standard quantum mechanics at the operational level, while offering a novel physical substrate for coherence, noise, and temporal memory effects. Finally, we outline several experimentally discriminable consequences of this interpretation, positioning it as a falsifiable and conceptually economical extension of existing decoherence theory. Quantum decoherence is both the fundamental mechanism underlying the quantum-to-classical transition and a major challenge for the development of scalable nanoscale quantum technologies. This work introduces a Quantum Phase Space (QPS) framework that provides a unified geometric description of decoherence. The framework is based on a dual structure consisting of an overcomplete continuous frame of minimum-uncertainty states that defines the QPS geometry, and an orthonormal basis that satisfies the strict mathematical requirements for decoherence within the Spectrum Broadcast Structure (SBS) objectivity criterion for pointer states. Within this framework, the variance-covariance matrix of the QPS ground states serves as a universal indicator of decoherence regimes:it is time-independent for Markovian (memoryless) dynamics, and time-dependent for non-Markovian dynamics with memory and information backflow. To illustrate the formalism, the Hu-Paz-Zhang (HPZ) model is generalized to include simultaneous position and momentum couplings to the environment, leading to a generalized non-Markovian master equation characterized by a spectral-density matrix. The corresponding evolution equations for the first moments(⟨p(t)⟩,⟨x(t)⟩) and for the ground covariance matrix establish a direct connection between microscopic environmental properties, classical-like trajectories and the QPS geometry. The proposed framework provides a unified theoretical foundation for modeling decoherence in nanoscale systems involving simultaneous position and momentum interactions with the environment. The QPS framework may thus bridge fundamental theory and practical quantum engineering, offering a promising coherent pathway to understand, control, and exploit decoherence at the nanoscience frontier.
Decoherence stands as the fundamental bottleneck limiting the physical realization of large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computation. Conventional paradigms rely on passive strategies of environmental isolation and post-hoc quantum error correction, inherently bounded by Markovian approximation, weak-coupling assumptions and prohibitive physical qubit overhead. Breaking away from the dissipative preset of traditional open quantum systems, this work establishes a global system-environment closed dynamical framework with rigorous coherence conservation. Without Markovian coarse-graining or thermal bath approximation \cite{1,5}, we derive the exact non-Markovian reduced dynamic equation and present the necessary and sufficient coupling conditions for strictly conserved quantum coherence. We rigorously prove that decoherence is not an intrinsic fundamental law of quantum mechanics, but an emergent consequence of specific interaction structures and artificial approximation constraints. By constructing structured system-environment coupling Hamiltonians, coherent decay can be frozen at the dynamical root, achieving intrinsic decoherence suppression without error correction, topological quasiparticles or magic state distillation. Numerical simulations verify that coherence remains strictly constant under strong environmental coupling for the proposed coupling scheme, in sharp contrast to conventional decaying dynamics. This work reconstructs the underlying paradigm of open quantum systems, eliminates the decoherence bottleneck at the fundamental level, and provides a novel theoretical route toward large-scale, low-overhead, universal fault-tolerant quantum computation.
This work presents a structural reformulation of quantum dynamics based on a scalar coherence functional defined over a general state space. The framework distinguishes two mathematically natural classes of dynamics generated by such a functional:(i) gradient flows, which monotonically increase coherence and correspond to stabilization or selection processes, and(ii) antisymmetric flows, which conserve coherence and generate reversible dynamics. We show that standard unitary quantum mechanics arises as a special case when the state space is a complex Hilbert space, the coherence functional is chosen as the negative energy expectation, and the antisymmetric structure corresponds to the canonical complex structure. In this setting, the Schrödinger equation follows directly from the formalism, without postulating unitarity as an independent axiom. The framework is extended to open systems using the density-operator formalism and completely positive trace-preserving maps. Under standard assumptions (Markovianity, continuity, and semigroup structure), the reduced dynamics takes the Gorini–Kossakowski–Sudarshan–Lindblad form, with dissipative terms interpreted as coherence-stabilizing dynamics. A supporting lemma demonstrates exponential suppression of off-diagonal density matrix elements under dephasing Lindblad operators. Using the Wigner phase-space representation, we further show that conservative coherence dynamics reduces to classical Liouville transport in the semiclassical regime, with quantum corrections governed by the Moyal bracket expansion. This work does not propose a modification of quantum theory. Rather, it offers a structural reorganization of existing formalisms. All results remain fully compatible with standard quantum mechanics while providing a unified perspective on unitary evolution, decoherence, and the emergence of classical behavior. Related work. This preprint presents a deterministic model of quantum decoherence using the Manassero Internal Degradation Framework (MIDF). ASCII diagrams illustrate multi-level coupling, coherence loss (C_i), degradation (D_i), and emergent internal time (tau_int). The work provides calculable lifetimes, exponential decay, and measurable predictions for quantum systems, offering a unified ontological interpretation of decoherence. The article explicitly clarifies that MIDF predicts decoherence and tau_int, but does not determine the final measurement outcome, ensuring scientific honesty. Manassero, S. hector . (2025).
