Abstract

In this paper, we study the dynamics of a system consisting of two identical qubits interacting non-resonantly with a single-mode field of an ideal resonator in the presence of direct dipole-dipole and Ising interactions between the qubits. In the representation of "dressed" states, we find an exact solution of the quantum time Liouville equation for the full density matrix of the system under consideration for the initial separable and entangled states of the qubits and the thermal initial state of the resonator field. Based on the exact solution, the criterion for qubit entanglement, negativity, is calculated. The results of numerical modeling of negativity show that the inclusion of dipole-dipole and Ising coupling in the case of separable initial states of qubits can lead to a significant increase in the maximum degree of their entanglement, and in the case of entangled initial states of qubits, to stabilization of the initial entanglement. For the model with resonant interaction of qubits and the resonator field, direct interaction of qubits can also lead to the disappearance of the sudden death of entanglement effect.

Dynamics of a two-qubit Tavis-Cummings model in the presence of an Ising-type interaction between qubits

Eugene K. Bashkirov

In this paper, we investigated the dynamics of entanglement of two qubits interacting non-resonantly with the thermal field of a one-mode lossless resonator, taking into account the Ising-type direct interaction between qubits. Based on the exact solution of the quantum Liouville equation, we found the density matrix of the system under consideration. With its help, the reduced qubit-qubit density matrix was calculated and the entanglement criteriоn of the two-qubit system, Pres-Horodeсki parameter, was found. It was shown that for the resonance model and separable initial states of qubits, the direct interaction of qubits leads to a significant increase in the maximum degree of their entanglement. It was also found that for the nonresonant interaction between qubits and field, the increase of the maximum degree of entanglement of qubits is much greater than that due to direct interaction. For the original entangled Bell-type state of the qubits, the direct interaction was found to lead to the vanishing of the effect of the sudden death of entanglement in the case of a resonant qubit-field interaction and, conversely, to an increase in this effect for a nonresonant interaction.

Influence of initial atomic coherence and direct coupling on qubits entanglement in two-qubit Tavis — Cummings model

A. Othman, A. R. Farhutdinova, Eugene K. Bashkirov

The exact dynamics of a model consisting of two identical qubits interacting non-resonantly with the electromagnetic field mode of an ideal resonator via single-photon transitions is found in the presence of direct Ising interaction of qubits. The exact solution is used to calculate the two-qubit negativity of qubits in the case of a coherent initial state of qubits and a thermal state of the resonator field. It is shown that in the case of resonant interaction of qubits with the field, the initial atomic coherence leads to a significant increase in the maximum degree of entanglement. The inclusion of direct Ising interaction of qubits can significantly enhance the entanglement of qubits in both coherent and non-coherent initial states of qubits. In the case of non-resonant interaction of qubits and the resonator field, the detuning leads to a weakening of the effect of atomic coherence on the dynamics of qubit entanglement.

Dynamics of entanglement of qubits in the three-qubit Tavis — Cummings model with dipole-dipole interaction

Alexander R. Bagrov, Eugene K. Bashkirov

The article studies the dynamics of pairwise entanglement of three qubits, two of which are trapped in a resonator and interact with a single-mode ideal resonator through single-photon transitions, and the third qubit is outside the resonator. This takes into account the dipole-dipole coupling between the isolated qubit and the qubit in the resonator. We have found a solution to the quantum nonstationary Schrodinger equation for the total wave function of the system for the initial separable and biseparable states of qubits and the thermal initial state of the resonator field. Using these solutions, the criterion of entanglement of qubit pairs - negativity is calculated. The results of numerical simulation of the negativity criterion have shown that the including of a small dipole-dipole coupling between an isolated and one of the trapped qubits can lead to significant entanglement of qubit pairs for all initial states. There is a transition of entanglement from one pair of atoms to other pairs of atoms during the evolution of the system. It is also shown that for some separable and biseparable states, the dipole-dipole interaction can suppress the effect of sudden death of entanglement.

DYNAMICS OF THE THREE-QUBITS TAVIS — CUMMINGS MODEL

Alexander R. Bagrov, Eugene K. Bashkirov

In this article, we have studied the entanglement dynamics of three identical qubits (natural or artificial two-level atoms) resonantly interacting with the one mode of the thermal field of a microwave lossless resonator via one-photon transitions. An exact solution of the quantum time Schrodinger equation is found for the total wave function of the system for the initial separable and entangled states of qubits and the Fock initial state of the resonator. On the basis of this solution, an exact solution of the quantum Liouville equation for the total time-dependent density matrix of the system in the case of a thermal field of the resonator is constructed. The exact solution for the full density matrix is used to calculate the criterion of entanglement of pairs of qubits negativity. The resultsof numerical simulation of the time dependence of the negativity of pairs of qubits showed that with an increase in the intensity of the thermal resonator field, the degree of entanglement of pairs of qubits decreases. It is also shown that In the model under consideration, for any initial states of qubits and intensities of the thermal field of the resonator, the effect of sudden death of entanglement takes place. This behavior of the entanglement parameter in the model under consideration differs from that in the two-qubit model. For two-qubit model, the effect of the sudden death of entanglement takes place only for the initial entangled states of qubits and intense thermal fields of the resonator.

Long-lived entangled states in the double Jaynes–Cummings model taking into account the qubits direct dipole-dipole interaction

Evgeny K. Bashkirov

Background. The study of entangled states in Jaynes–Cummings models and its multiqubit generalizations and extensions remains an important and relevant topic in modern quantum optics, quantum information science and solid state physics. This is due to the fact that such models naturally describe the dynamics of interaction of logical elements of quantum devices, such as quantum computers or quantum networks (qubits) with microwave fields of resonators used to control the states of qubits. In this regard, it is very important to search for the most efficient schemes of generation, control and monitoring of entangled qubit states within the framework of Jaynes–Cummings type models. Aim. To investigate the entanglement dynamics of a pair of qubits, each of which is locked in a single-mode resonator and interacts non-resonantly with the vacuum field mode, in the presence of detuning between frequencies of transitions in the qubits and frequencies of resonator modes and dipole-dipole interaction of the qubits. Methods. To analyze the dynamics of the considered system, the solution of the time-dependent quantum Schrödinger equation is investigated. The exact solution of the above equation in the case of entangled Bell-type initial qubits states is found. This is used to calculate the criterion of entanglement of a pair of qubits – negativity. Numerical modeling of the time dependence of negativity for different values of the parameters of the considered model has been carried out. Results. It is shown that the presence of detuning, the difference in the qubit-photon couplings and the intensity of the dipole-dipole interaction significantly affect the maximum degree of entanglement of the qubit subsystem during its evolution. It is found that for certain parameters of the model under consideration, the initial Bell entangled states of qubits can be considered as long-lived stable states. Conclusion. The possibility of realization of long-lived and robust two-qubit entangled states in the system under consideration has been established. The obtained results can be used for effective control and manipulation of the degree of entanglement of qubits interacting with microwave fields of resonators.

Thermal entanglement in two-atom Tavis–Cummings model with taking into account the dipole-dipole interaction

Eugene K. Bashkirov

Background. Interest in the study of entangled states of systems of natural and artificial atoms (qubits) interacting with selected modes of microwave resonators is associated with their use as logic elements of quantum computers. At the same time, the most important task of the physics of quantum computing is the choice of the most effective mechanisms for manipulating and controlling the entangled states of qubits in such devices. Aim. The dynamics of the entanglement of two dipole-coupled superconducting Josephson qubits induced by a thermal noise of a coplanar resonator is studied for various initial states of the qubits. Methods. Based on the exact solution of the quantum Liouville equation for the whole density matrix of the system under consideration, the time behavior of the qubit entanglement parameter (negativity) is found for chaotic thermal, pure separable, and entangled initial states of qubits. Results. It is shown that the entanglement of qubits induced by the thermal noise of the resonator is possible for both the chaotic thermal states and separable states of qubits, except the case when both qubits are excited. It has also been found that, for small values of the dipole–dipole interaction parameter, taking this interaction into account leads to an increase in the degree of entanglement. For values of the dipole-dipole interaction parameter greater than some limit value, the opposite effect takes place. It is found that for entangled initial states of qubits, the inclusion of direct interaction has a small effect on the entanglement dynamics. It is shown that the initial coherence of qubit states can lead to a significant increase in the degree of their entanglement in the presence of a dipole–dipole interaction. Conclusion. The dipole-dipole interaction can be used as an effective mechanism for qubits entanglement manipulation and controlling.
