Quantum-Based Stock Price Forecasting with Stop Loss and False Breakout Analysis

Durga Meena Rajendran, K. Maharajan

This research work introduces a novel quantum computing approach to stock price forecasting that leverages the power of quantum algorithms for enhanced predictive accuracy and risk management. This comprehensive framework that integrates Quantum Neural Networks (QNN), Quantum Support Vector Machines (QSVM), and Quantum Amplitude Estimation (QAE) to create a robust prediction system capable of navigating complex market dynamics. This approach goes beyond traditional quantum machine learning by incorporating specialized components for stop loss optimization and false breakout detection-critical elements for practical trading systems that are often overlooked in theoretical models. Experimental results across multiple market sectors during the 2018-2022 period demonstrates that this quantum-based framework achieves a 23.6% improvement in directional accuracy and a 31.4% enhancement in risk-adjusted returns compared to classical machine learning benchmarks. The model exhibits particular strength during high volatility periods, where quantum superposition and entanglement properties efficiently capture complex market patterns that elude classical algorithms. This research bridges the gap between theoretical quantum computing advantages and practical financial applications, offering significant implications for the future of algorithmic trading as quantum hardware continues to advance.

Optimizing Feature Selection for Predictive Analytics With Quantum Algorithms

C. N. Manushree, Hari Deepthi Putluru, Himanshu Khajuria +2 more

Quantum algorithms for predictive analytics is important across various sectors such as finance, healthcare, marketing and supply chain management where accurate predictions can be used to optimise operations and decision-making processes. This chapter addresses Specific quantum machine learning algorithms such as Quantum Support Vector Machines (QSVM), Quantum K-nearest Neighbors (QKNN) and Quantum Neural Networks (QNN). These algorithms enhance classification, regression and complex predictive tasks by accelerating training processes and managing large feature spaces effectively. And, to this, quantum optimization algorithms like Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) and Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) are mentioned for their role in optimising model parameters and improving prediction accuracy. In addition, it discusses quantum data encoding methods, such as Quantum Fourier Transform (QFT) and amplitude encoding. Along with this, it acknowledges significant challenges such as hardware limitations, algorithmic complexity and practical integration issues.

Rolling bearing fault diagnosis based on quantum LS-SVM

Yuanyuan Li, Liyuan Song, Qichun Sun +4 more

Abstract Rolling bearing is an indispensable part of the contemporary industrial system, and its working conditions affect the state of the entire industrial system. Therefore, there is great engineering value to researching and improving the fault diagnosis technology of rolling bearings. However, with the involvement of the whole mechanical equipment, we need to have a large quantity of data to support the accuracy of fault diagnosis, while the efficiency of classical machine learning algorithms is poor in processing big data, and huge amount of computing resources is required. To solve this problem, this paper combines the HHL algorithm in quantum computing with the LS-SVM algorithm in machine learning and proposes a fault diagnosis model based on a quantum least square support vector machine (QSVM). Based on experiments simulated on analog quantum computers, we demonstrate that our fault diagnosis based on QSVM is feasible, and it can play a far superior advantage over the classical algorithm in the context of big data.
