Abstract

Quantum cryptography is a relatively new area of computer security that deals with providing secure communication between the sender and recipient of information, using quantum-mechanical approach. It represents the vision of overcoming the classical methods of cryptography: asymmetric and symmetric algorithms, which have been used for several decades. It involves the establishment of a quantum channel between the participants, in which the transmission of information is realized using photons. The base of the quantum cryptography is formed by appropriate protocols that define the algorithm and method of exchanging and interpreting information. This type of security mechanisms has its undeniable theoretical advantages, but there are a number of problems related to the practical realization. The paper presents an overview of the general quantum principles and their characteristics underlying this form of cryptography and highlights the current advantages and disadvantages of quantum distribution security key.

An Invention of Quantum Cryptography over the Classical Cryptography for Enhancing Security

Payal P. Wasankar, Pranjal Soni

Quantum Cryptography is based on the use of subatomic particles (photons) and their intrinsic quantum properties (photon polarization) to develop an unbreakable system. It is not possible to measure the quantum state of any system without affecting the system. This property provides secure transmission of key between sender and receiver. Quantum Cryptography is a way to combine the relative ease and convenience of key exchange in public key cryptography with the ultimate security of a one-time pad. Quantum techniques for key distribution, the classically impossible task of distributing secret information over an insecure channel whose transmissions are subject to inspection by an eavesdropper, between parties who share no secret key initially. Quantum Cryptography uses the principles of Quantum Mechanics to implement a cryptographic system. The key problem which is solved by using quantum techniques is that of eavesdropping detection. The bits are represented as qubits, physically modeled by photons, and communicated over a quantum channel. The polarization states of photons represent 0's and 1's. Modern quantum technologies of cryptographic information protection

Yevhen Vasiliu

Quantum cryptography is a new paradigm of cryptographic information protection, utilizing the laws of quantum mechanics and the corresponding quantum properties of information carriers — photons to overcome the limitations of classical cryptographic protocols and increase the security of cryptographic protocols up to the information-theoretic level. The paper provides a general overview and analysis of modern quantum information security technologies, particularly protocols for quantum key distribution, quantum secure direct communication, and quantum secret sharing. Several other areas of quantum cryptography are briefly considered, such as quantum digital signature, quantum bit commitment, quantum steganography, etc. The advantages and disadvantages of quantum cryptographic protocols, as well as the prospects and challenges of their practical implementation, are analyzed. A brief overview of the laws of quantum physics underlying the security of quantum cryptographic protocols is also provided. Keywords: quantum cryptography, physical foundations of quantum cryptography, qubit, qudit, entangled qubits and qudits, quantum key distribution, quantum secure direct communication, quantum secret sharing.

A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHY: PRINCIPLES, PROTOCOLS, AND PRACTICAL CHALLENGES

Pagalla Bhavani Shankar, Babu Reddy Mukkamalla, Mullangi David

The quantum cryptography approach is a significant change in secure communication in the sense that quantum cryptography bases its security on the law of quantum physics as opposed to computation difficulty. With classical encryption methods rapidly losing their resistance to the power of the underlying computers as well as the expected possibilities of the quantum computers, quantum cryptography comes into the limelight as a possible method of securing information in the long term. The paper is a detailed and systematic review of quantum cryptography along with the fundamentals of this practice, the way it works, and its practical implementation. It describes the ability of quantum phenomena to be unique (including superposition, uncertainty, and disturbance of measurement) and able to secure a key exchange as well as ensure any attempt of eavesdropping would be automatically noticed. In the review, the authors mainly discuss quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols, their functioning principles, security assurances, and the benefits of quantum over classical key exchange schemes. Besides that, the paper critically evaluates the real issues surrounding the implementation of quantum cryptographic systems such as hardware limitations, transmission range, environmental noise, and compatibility, to existing compatibility infrastructures. Recent advances in the field of experiments and pilot implementations are presented to determine the maturity of new technologies, and their suitability to be used on a large scale. Through its analytical review of theoretical assets, as well as practical constraints, this paper offers a definite and equalist view of the state of quantum cryptography today and also explains the research priorities important in its scale, moving away of the test production systems to the dependable and extensive security measures.

Quantum cryptography is one of the emerging topics in the field of computer industry. This article focuses on quantum cryptography and how this technology makes a valuable contribution to an intensive defense strategy of completely secure key distribution. The scope of this article covers the weaknesses of modern digital cryptographic systems, the basic concepts of quantum cryptography, the practical implementations of this technology, and its limitations. , and finally the future direction that quantum cryptography is headed. We describe the result of an apparatus and protocol designed to perform quantum key distribution, whereby two users do not share any secret information (no private or public keys are known). previously known) initially exchanges a random quantum transmission consisting of veryweakly polarized light rays. In particular, readers can explore the following topics in depth: current cryptographic schemes (symmetric and asymmetric), the difference between quantum and classical computing, challenges of quantum computing, quantum algorithms (Shor and Grover), public key cryptographic schemes affected, symmetry affected schemes, impact on hash functions and post-quantum cryptography
