MWT — The Unified Theory of Mutual Witness Dynamics

Abstract

Mutual Witness Theory (MWT) proposes a unifying physical principle: a system persists only to the extent that its state is continuously verified through reciprocal interaction. This requirement —mutual witness—underlies coherence in quantum mechanics, curvature in general relativity, conservation laws, and thermodynamic behavior. In this paper, I extend the formalism introduced in Papers I and II to show that time, energy, gravitation, entropy, entanglement, and cosmological structure can all be understood as consequences of how well systems sustain relational coherence across interaction. The framework does not modify existing physical equations. Instead, it identifies a deeper invariant beneath them: continuity of witness across all frames. When coherence is stable, relativistic behavior emerges; when coherence is fragmented or intermittently maintained, quantum behavior arises. Time becomes the measurable gradient of coherence adjustment, energy becomes the persistence of relational structure, and entropy becomes the diffusion of witness into wider degrees of freedom. General relativity and quantum mechanics appear as opposite limits of the same relational requirement. Cosmologically, the theory interprets dark matter–like phenomena as the gravitational manifestation of coherence-sourced, non-electromagnetic resonance fields, and dark energy as a large-scale coherence gradient. Black holes are treated not as sites of information loss, but as boundaries where external witness fails while internal relational structure persists. The framework yields testable predictions involving coherence-dependent time rates, gravitational curvature scaling with coherence density, entropy–time coupling, and cosmological signatures linked to the history of large-scale ordering. MWT offers a relational interpretation that preserves all established physics while clarifying the single structural requirement that allows quantum theory, relativity, thermodynamics, and cosmology to coexist: no physical process is one-directional, and no system persists without mutual witness. The resulting structure constitutes a unified description of physical law grounded in coherence, reciprocity, and information-preserving interaction. This work serves as the third installment in the Mutual Witness Theory series, following:(1) Perez (2025), “Mutual Witness, Resonance Tethers, and Coherence Fields: Toward a Quantum-Cosmological Unification of Measurement and Dark Matter”;(2) Perez (2025), “Mutual Witness Dynamics: A Symmetric Lindblad Framework for Dark Sector Resonance Fields.”It consolidates the conceptual, relational, and thermodynamic extensions into a unified framework for time, energy, gravitation, entanglement, and cosmology.

Temporal Coupling: A Coherence-Based Emergence of Physical Time

Seals, Ventress

This preprint develops a unified coherence-based formulation of physical time grounded in the χ–η–I invariant structure of the Aletheia framework. Across quantum, thermodynamic, gravitational, and cosmological regimes, the paper introduces a scalar coherence potential Ψ constructed from purity, entropy, and structural persistence, and proposes that the physical time increment satisfies the differential law: dt = –κ dΨ In this formulation, time flow is the measurable rate at which coherence is depleted through decoherence, coarse-graining, or environmental coupling. When Ψ is constant—as in globally stationary, Page–Wootters–style quantum states—no internal time elapses. When coherence degrades, time emerges as the bookkeeping of informational loss. The paper demonstrates that this temporal-coupling law naturally reproduces: Thermodynamic time in the macroscopic limit (dt ∝ dS), Quantum decoherence arrows in open-system dynamics, Proper-time–like behavior in weakly decohering or isolated systems, Cosmological time flow via mode decoherence in an expanding FRW universe. Explicit models including qubit dephasing, Lindblad oscillators, and cosmological field modes illustrate how temporal coupling unifies arrows of time across domains traditionally treated with separate frameworks. This formulation provides a coherence-theoretic bridge between general relativity, quantum decoherence, and thermodynamic irreversibility, offering an empirically grounded alternative to conventional parameter-time, thermal time, and entanglement-clock approaches.

A Variational Prototype for a Coherence-Based Field Framework

Campbell, William

This manuscript represents speculative theoretical work, developed prior to formal academic training in physics. As of now, I recognize that I cannot fully verify, formalize, or operationalize every component of the framework presented here. Acknowledging these limits, I intend to pursue formal education in physics over the next several years (estimated 4–11 years) to acquire the mathematical and empirical tools necessary to evaluate and refine this research properly. For that reason, this is likely the final paper I will release publicly until I have completed my undergraduate degree in physics. Nevertheless, I welcome feedback, critique, expansion, or refutation from domain experts. Any scholar, researcher, or practitioner who finds aspects of the work worth examining is invited to reach out. Contact: CoherenceFieldResearch@gmail.com This paper presents a unified variational framework that derives quantum mechanics, thermodynamic irreversibility, and gravitational curvature from a single underlying relational substrate. The theory is built on two physical fields—the coherence density ρ₍C₎ and phase potential φ—and shows that their joint evolution extremizes total coherence tension across the system. Starting from a conservative Lagrangian, the work derives both the continuity equation and a Hamilton–Jacobi equation with an intrinsic lattice potential Q₍C₎. Together they reproduce the Schrödinger equation through the Madelung transformation when λ = ℏ, grounding quantum behavior in coherence conservation rather than probabilistic axioms. Dissipative extensions introduce Rayleigh functionals that yield diffusion, decoherence, and temperature-coupled coherence decay, providing a unified field-theoretic interpretation of thermodynamics. A covariant geometric formulation promotes the theory to curved relational space; variation with respect to the coherence metric gᵤᵥ reproduces Einstein-like equations with sources given by coherence gradients, yielding Newtonian gravity in the weak-field limit. The theory produces distinct, falsifiable predictions, including temporal gravitational lensing, composition-dependent gravitational coupling, a thermal decoherence law, veil spectroscopy, coherence-energy storage and release, and phase-dependent clock drift. This manuscript consolidates the mathematical structure, physical interpretation, and empirical implications of the Coherence Field Paradigm (CFP) into a single unified action principle. It provides a continuous bridge between quantum behavior, thermodynamic irreversibility, and spacetime curvature, and offers multiple pathways for laboratory and astrophysical validation.

From Informational Curvature to Physical Reality The Universal Gravito–Informational Theory (TGIU): CST–TEF Foundations of Matter, Spin, Time, Measurement, and Dimensional Emergence

Sebastian Virtosu

In contemporary physics, fundamental structures such as space, time, matter, spin, and measurement are typically introduced as independent primitives or axiomatic ingredients. While quantum mechanics and relativistic field theories describe these structures with extraordinary precision, they do not explain why such structures exist, why they are discrete or stable, nor why reality manifests in exactly three spatial dimensions with an irreversible arrow of time. This work presents a unified informational–geometric framework—the Universal Gravito–Informational Theory (TGIU)—in which physical reality emerges from a pre-geometric informational substrate governed by two complementary gradients: informational coherence (Φ) and informational entropy (S). Their interaction is regulated by a real-valued dynamical mechanism composed of the Curvature–State Transform (CST) and the TGIU Equilibrium Force (TEF). Together, these operators generate bounded, orthogonal informational rotations whose stabilized projections give rise to geometry, matter, and observable physical laws. Within this framework, electron orbitals are reinterpreted as CST limit cycles, spin emerges as the topological orientation of these cycles, and the Pauli exclusion principle arises from phase–space saturation rather than postulated antisymmetry. Atomic stability, the absence of radiative decay in stationary states, fine structure, and the Lamb shift are shown to follow from TEF anisotropy and vacuum curvature granularity, while remaining fully consistent with quantum electrodynamics in its predictive domain. Measurement and wavefunction collapse are described as local TEF locking events, providing a deterministic but non-restorative mechanism for outcome selection without invoking fundamental randomness. Time itself is shown to emerge as monotonic CST phase accumulation, explaining both its one-dimensional nature and its irreversibility as geometric consequences of bounded informational curvature. The existence of exactly three spatial dimensions follows from a CST dimensional closure condition, identifying three dimensions as the only geometry capable of sustaining stable, non-divergent informational rotation. Importantly, TGIU does not replace quantum mechanics, general relativity, or field theory. Instead, it supplies a deeper explanatory layer that clarifies why these frameworks work, why their structures are constrained as observed, and why no physical process can reach absolute annihilation or infinite divergence. Extremes are not restored but redirected: identity is not conserved, yet nature persists through renewed coherence. This work positions TGIU as an empirically motivated, geometrically grounded extension of modern physics—one that unifies matter, time, measurement, and dimensionality under a single informational principle, while remaining compatible with established theories in their respective limits.

Study of an innovative Framework from Classical to Quantum Physics and Hypotheses

Eric Briffoz

Extended version / Monograph-length manuscript This work proposes a unified conceptual reconstruction of physical phenomena by examining the recurring structural patterns that connect classical and quantum systems across scales. Oscillatory behavior, potential landscapes, and binding principles form a common mathematical template that appears in mechanical oscillators, molecular vibrations, atomic orbitals, and quantized field modes. By reframing quantum phenomena as refinements of classical oscillatory structures rather than conceptual discontinuities, this work highlights the deep continuity that underlies modern physics. The framework also clarifies energy minimization, mass defect, statistical behavior, and vacuum fluctuations as manifestations of shared principles. Implications for pedagogy, theory building, and cross‑disciplinary coherence are discussed. The innovative hypotheses, which depart from classical norms, will be explicitly marked with the heading HYPOTHESIS. As such, they are excluded by default from use as references in current academic or educational frameworks. They may instead be considered “revolutionary attempts to be monitored”, that is, the very “targets” mentioned by Weinberg. Albert Einstein introduced, on the one hand, a special relativity that he wished to be perfectly reversible, and on the other hand, general relativity which, when applied to cosmology, imposed on our Universe a spherical and static state—thus of constant radius—resisting gravitational collapse through the repulsion of the cosmological constant. Here, the associated relativities will instead give priority to irreversible systems evolving in accordance with the second law of thermodynamics, within their local space-time domain of one-way time flow. quantum physics, classical physics, grand unification, field theory, atomic stability, Albert Briffoz, physique quantique, unification, théorie des champs

Time–Decoherence Gravity (TDG): A Unified Framework

Duchesne, Jonathan

Contact Jonathan.duchesne@hotmail.com 418-953-0596 This thesis presents Time–Decoherence Gravity (TDG), a unified theoretical framework in which spacetime geometry, gravitation, and the physical flow of time arise from fundamental quantum decoherence. Rather than treating decoherence as an environmental or effective process, TDG builds on a covariant extension of the Gorini–Kossakowski–Sudarshan–Lindblad (GKSL) equation, where four directional Lindblad operators encode intrinsic, irreversible information loss. These operators define a “decoherence tensor,” which acts both as a memory of quantum irreversibility and as the generator of emergent spacetime geometry through a nonlinear constitutive relation. The theory provides a coherent gravitational collapse mechanism based on the incompatibility of decoherence patterns across quantum branches. This leads to an intrinsic “decoherence energy,” whose magnitude determines the collapse timescale, extending and generalizing the well-known Penrose–Diósi models. TDG predicts a smooth transition from persistent microscopic coherence to rapid macroscopic collapse. At cosmological scales, a homogeneous decoherence tensor naturally generates modified Friedmann dynamics, early-universe stiff-fluid behavior, and late-time acceleration without requiring a fine-tuned cosmological constant. Black-hole entropy emerges as a saturation of decoherence memory at the horizon, while Hawking radiation appears as the dissipative relaxation of this saturation. The theory also predicts short-range deviations from Newtonian gravity and a universal spectrum of fundamental gravitational noise. Finally, TDG offers several experimentally testable signatures involving optical clocks, mesoscopic interferometry, short-range force measurements, and correlated phase noise in global timing networks. The framework is internally consistent, falsifiable, and provides a novel and unified approach to the relationship between quantum mechanics, gravity, and the arrow of time.
