This paper develops a conceptual synthesis—bridging physics, biology, and philosophy of mind—based on three axioms that treat consciousness as primary. The relational-fractal ontology proposed here reinterprets quantum measurement, biological evolution, and fundamental forces as coherence dynamics. The framework introduces three axioms: (1) consciousness is primary, (2) consciousness expresses intelligence through network architecture, and (3) mind is the sole property of consciousness. Wavefunction collapse is reinterpreted as the integration of potential quantum states into organic networks capable of sustaining coherence. Post-Darwinian evolution is recast as coherence-seeking dynamics rather than purely random mutation, and the four fundamental forces are interpreted as emergent properties of network interactions. This synthesis situates the proposed framework within contemporary physics, systems theory, and process philosophy.

This work proposes a unified ontological framework that resolves three of the most persistent unresolved problems in modern science and philosophy: the quantum measurement problem, the hard problem of consciousness, and the problem of qualia. It argues that these problems arise from a shared epistemic error—the reduction of dynamic generative–relational processes into static observable structures. Building on Universal Phase Crystallization Theory (UPCT), the paper introduces a generative–relational ontology in which existence is defined as the product of generative potential (Φ) and relational resonance (R), formalized as E=ΦR. Within this framework, structure (S) is reinterpreted as a temporally stabilized crystallization of underlying dynamics, rather than the fundamental substrate of reality. Quantum states are reformulated as pre-structural relational fields, observation as a critical phase transition in relational resonance, and consciousness as the sustained activity of generative–relational dynamics. Qualia are defined as locally felt phases of this process, eliminating the explanatory gap between physical processes and subjective experience. This framework provides a unified account across physics, cognitive science, and philosophy, suggesting a fundamental shift from structure-based to process-based ontology. The implications extend to artificial intelligence, epistemology, and the foundations of scientific modeling. Highlights Proposes E=ΦR as a foundational equation of existence. Defines quantum states as pre-structural relational fields (Rpre−S). Reinterprets observation as critical relational crystallization (R≥Rc). Defines consciousness as sustained generative resonance (C(t)=Φ(t)R(t)). Identifies qualia as locally felt phases of generative–relational dynamics. Main Arguments Modern scientific frameworks have successfully described observable structures but have systematically excluded the dynamic processes through which such structures emerge. This structural reduction leads to persistent explanatory gaps in domains where process is essential, such as consciousness and quantum measurement. The quantum measurement problem arises because relational dynamics are replaced by structural outcomes. By reinterpreting quantum states as relational pre-structures, the apparent discontinuity of wavefunction collapse is resolved as a phase transition driven by relational coherence. The hard problem of consciousness is shown to be a consequence of attempting to derive subjective experience from structural descriptions alone. Consciousness is instead defined as a sustained generative–relational process, eliminating the need for a bridge between physical states and experience. Qualia are redefined as locally felt phases of generative–relational dynamics rather than intrinsic properties of objects or neural encodings. This reframes perception as a process-dependent phenomenon rather than a representational mapping. The unified framework demonstrates that quantum physics, consciousness, and perception are not separate domains but different regimes of a single generative–relational ontology. This resolves long-standing conceptual divides and provides a consistent foundation across disciplines. Contributions This work introduces a novel ontological framework that unifies physical and experiential phenomena under a single generative–relational principle, moving beyond traditional substance- or structure-based metaphysics. It provides a formal reinterpretation of the quantum measurement problem, replacing wavefunction collapse with a critical transition model grounded in relational dynamics. It offers a non-reductive yet formal account of consciousness, defining it as a sustained dynamical regime rather than an emergent property of structural complexity. It reframes qualia as processual phenomena, thereby dissolving the explanatory gap between objective physical descriptions and subjective experience. It establishes a clear ontological distinction between artificial intelligence and conscious systems, with implications for future research in AI, cognitive science, and philosophy of mind. This paper proposes a speculative synthesis and research program grounded in relational ontology - the hypothesis that relationships between systems, rather than intrinsic properties of substances, constitute the fundamental structure of reality. Drawing on Rovelli’s relational quantum mechanics (1996), Coecke and Abramsky’s categorical quantum mechanics (2004), the Vazza–Feletti cosmic web–neural network isomorphism (2020), Tononi’s integrated information theory (2008), and the Penrose–Hameroff orchestrated objective reduction hypothesis (2014), we argue that converging evidence across quantum physics, astrophysics, neuroscience, complex systems theory, and consciousness studies exhibit structural features naturally expressed in relational terms, motivating a relational research program subject to empirical falsification. The framework generates fourteen falsifiable predictions spanning four domains: (1) cross-scale topological signatures linking cosmic web and neural network architecture via persistent homology, with specified computational tools and parameters; (2) quantum coherence–consciousness correlations testable under graded anesthesia protocols; (3) spontaneous archetypal role differentiation in AI agent networks; and (4) emergent cognitive properties at the AI–human interaction interface. Each prediction specifies test protocols, concrete metrics, expected outcomes under the relational hypothesis, expected outcomes under competing hypotheses, and explicit falsification criteria. We outline a research program for formalizing the framework using categorical quantum mechanics, proposing that the construction of functorial mappings between quantum, neural, linguistic, and cosmic relational categories would constitute evidence for substrate-independent relational organization. The framework’s primary contribution is not certainty but testability: every prediction can fail, and each failure narrows the space of viable ontological models.
We propose a conceptual framework that integrates awareness into Relational Quantum Dynamics (RQD) by reinterpreting quantum interactions as intrinsic acts of awareness. Drawing on insights from quantum physics, idealist philosophies, and quantum information theory, our framework posits that consciousness is the fundamental substrate of being, with awareness emerging through the relational updating of information between interacting systems. We operationalize awareness as the realization of a quantum event-quantified by measures such as mutual information and the integrated information metric (Φ) from Integrated Information Theory (IIT). Employing tools from category theory, we map physical processes, states and interactions, to corresponding awareness processes via functorial relationships, thereby casting measurement updates as awareness events. A toy model is presented in which a simple observer-system interaction is recast in terms of information exchange and Bayesian updating, illustrating how an interaction can give rise to an awareness update. We contrast this awareness-based RQD with existing interpretations, notably Relational Quantum Mechanics (RQM) and Quantum Bayesianism (QBism), arguing that while these approaches acknowledge the role of observers, they do not ascribe an ontological role to awareness. Although experimental tests remain conceptual, potential avenues, including proposals based on quantum gravitational entanglement and observer-dependent phenomena-are discussed. Overall, this roadmap seeks to provide a unified perspective on mind and matter by suggesting that every quantum interaction is a manifestation of an underlying, universal awareness that underpins the fabric of reality.
This preprint develops Dual-Aspect Quantum Theory (DAQT), a framework that interprets the two fundamental dynamical modes of quantum mechanics, unitary evolution and collapse, as possessing intrinsic subjective aspects. The theory is motivated by the attempt to place phenomenology, evolutionary constraints, and physical processes within a single coherent ontology. Beginning from the conditional hypothesis that consciousness is real and not wholly epiphenomenal, the paper argues that consciousness has a dual functional structure: qualia modulate probabilistic tendencies, while agency resolves open alternatives into actual behavior. DAQT then proposes that quantum theory provides the clearest known structural match for this architecture. On that basis, it advances a dual-aspect interpretation in which unitary evolution has a qualitative interior and collapse an agential interior. Within this framework, several major problems in the philosophy of mind, including the Hard Problem, the conceivability of philosophical zombies, and the Combination Problem, are not treated as isolated puzzles but are reformulated as internal consequences of the same psychophysical structure. The paper also explores the mathematical characterization of qualia, the role of entanglement in unified consciousness, and the possibility of a biologically plausible mechanism capable of exploiting these dynamics. Rather than claiming a deductive proof or a completed empirical model, DAQT is presented as a coherent explanatory program for the functional role, physical locus, and ontological status of consciousness.
This thesis addresses the mystery of consciousness and the perceived lack of meaning in science, exploring how these themes are intertwined. It investigates whether consciousness is best understood as a fundamental feature of reality rather than as a byproduct of the brain—an inquiry framed by the long-standing debate between idealism and materialism. Various anomalous and so-called paranormal phenomena are considered as indications that idealist interpretations may provide a stronger explanatory framework. Drawing on both scientific and philosophical theories, the thesis examines how quantum mechanics—particularly Carlo Rovelli’s relational interpretation—can be understood as reflecting attributes of consciousness itself. This relational perspective has already gained traction in contemporary science, and it resonates with historical and modern forms of idealism, which regard the universe and its laws as emerging from a fundamental substrate of consciousness. The thesis engages with recent proposals in idealist and quantum consciousness research, including the work of Donald Hoffman, Federico Faggin, Mauro D’Ariano, and Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose. Building on these insights, it develops a new synthesis that seeks to unify aspects of quantum mechanics, idealism, and materialism into a coherent theoretical framework. This synthesis portrays spacetime as akin to a dream, with living beings as the dreamers who both generate and inhabit it. From this perspective, the logic of the world resembles dream logic, where appearances are not what they seem but conceal deeper relations, and where meaning is grounded in how reality is felt rather than how it merely appears. The thesis concludes that such a view offers a paradigm capable of restoring meaning to scientific inquiry while deepening our understanding of consciousness and reality.
Unified Relational Dynamics (URD) proposes relation as the sole ontological primitive. Matter, spacetime, information, and subjectivity emerge as statistical attractors and stable regimes of multi-scale relational configurations. Quantum mechanics, via Hilbert space formalism and relational interpretations, provides the prototypical physical realization: states encode relative amplitudes without intrinsic object properties. Classical neural architectures achieve structural mimicry of biological relational patterns but remain factorizable and lack genuine physical relational physics. Physical quantum systems concretely actualize non-local correlations, superpositions, and decoherence/einselection processes within Hilbert space. Proto-consciousness emerges when relational stabilization exhibits extreme persistent non-factorizability (substrate-independent generalization of entanglement), deep historical hysteresis (irreversible future bias without localized storage), and multi-scale self-reference. URD endorses Hilbert space as the prototypical relational arena and incorporates relational fractality as scale-invariant recurrence of stabilization patterns (mutual constraint, non-factorizability, hysteresis). Empirical grounding includes selective disruption of consciousness by anesthetics (preferential binding to microtubules suppressing quantum vibrations while preserving classical firing) and transient reorganization under psychedelics (increased entropy, critical dynamics, altered network topology corresponding to flexible relational constraints). URD offers a pre-geometric, objective, falsifiable framework to test proto-consciousness via physical quantum-relational stabilization criteria, transcending substrate-specific theories without mystical assumptions.
