Recent developments in quantum mechanics : proceedings of the Braşov Conference, Poiana Braşov 1989, Romania

Abstract

Reviews the current status of several mathematical problems in quantum mechanics, focusing on the behavior of Bloch electrons in electric and magnetic fields. The 22 papers, two in French, discuss various techniques from semiclassical analysis and pseudodifferential operators, stochastic methods, sc

Mathematical results in quantum mechanics : proceedings of the QMath10 Conference, Moieciu, Romania, 10-15 September 2007

Ingrid Beltiţă, G. Nenciu, Radu Purice

The 10th Quantum Mathematics International Conference (Qmath10) gave an opportunity to bring together specialists interested in that part of mathematical physics which is in close connection with various aspects of quantum theory. It was also meant to introduce young scientists and new tendencies in the field. This collection of carefully selected papers aims to reflect recent techniques and results on Schroedinger operators with magnetic fields, random Schroedinger operators, condensed matter and open systems, pseudo-differential operators and semiclassical analysis, quantum field theory and relativistic quantum mechanics, quantum information, and much more. The book serves as a concise and well-documented tool for the more experimented scientists, as well as a research guide for postgraduate students.

Mathematical results in quantum mechanics : international conference in Blossin (Germany), May 17-21, 1993

Michael Demuth

This work contains the proceedings of the International Conference on Mathematical Results in Quantum Mechanics held in Blossin, Germany, May 17-21, 1993. It aims to draw attention to the recent developments in quantum mechanics and related mathematical problems. The book features sections not only on traditional subjects such as Schroedinger and Dirac operators and generalized Schroedinger generators, but also on stochastic spectral analysis, many-body problems and statistical physics, chaos, and operator theory and its applications.

Rigorous results in quantum dynamics : Liblice, Czechoslovakia, 10-15 June 1990

J. Dittrich, Pavel Exner

"The proceedings of the conference is devoted mainly to the mathematically rigorous approaches to the problems of quantum mechanics. The spectral properties of Schrödinger operators, including those on regions with a boundary and their generalizations, scattering theory and resonances, time-dependent Hamiltonians and quantum chaos, problems of statistical physics like spin systems, and others are discussed."--Publisher's website

Stochastic methods in quantum mechanics

Stanley Gudder

Practical developments in such fields as optical coherence, communication engineering, and laser technology have developed from the applications of stochastic methods. This introductory survey offers a broad view of some of the most useful stochastic methods and techniques in quantum physics, functional analysis, probability theory, communications, and electrical engineering. Starting with a history of quantum mechanics, it examines both the quantum logic approach and the operational approach, with explorations of random fields and quantum field theory. The text assumes a basic knowledge of fun

Dense Summary of New Developments in Quantum Mechanics

Espen Gaarder Haug

In this note, we present a table with a summary of recent developments in quantum mechanics. If you not have studied our papers carefully already [1–4], then this paper will not make much sense and the equations could easily be misunderstood, so we strongly encourage the reader to become familiar with this material first. We will possibly write a long paper on this topic later, but it may be helpful to present the essence of both old and new QM, as we understand it today. This is useful for both tracing the history of ideas related to QM in mathematical form and for creating an opportunity to compare equations and analyze their similarities and differences.
