The Emotional Engineer 1-2, 3-6-9, 3-3-3: Desire as a Variable in Quantum Observation: A Theoretical Framework

Brian Burgess

This project contains the quantum observer extension of the Emotional Engineer 1-2, 3-6-9, 3-3-3 — the fourth paper in a nine-paper series. Papers 1 through 3 established the cycle, grounded it empirically, and proposed desire as the initiating force beneath emotion. This paper follows the framework's internal logic into the domain of quantum physics. For nearly a century, the quantum observer effect has been understood as the influence of measurement on wave function collapse. This paper proposes that a critical variable has been consistently overlooked: the observer's internal state of desire and intent. Desire, defined as directional pre-cognitive energy, measurable through proxies including heart rate variability, skin conductance, pupil dilation, and neural activation, is proposed not as an external contaminant but as an active participant in quantum interactions. Four testable hypotheses are advanced. The paper draws on Radin et al. (2012, 2016) on consciousness and double-slit interference, Engel et al. (2007) and Lambert et al. (2013) on quantum coherence in biological systems, and McCraty (2015) on cardiac electromagnetic fields as proposed biofield mechanisms. The empirical companion to this paper is Project 5. This paper is explicitly theoretical and marked as such throughout.

New construction of nine-qubit error-correcting code

Long Yang Huang, Xiaohua Wu

We report new construction of nine-qubit error-correcting code, which introduces two new nine-qubit codes and one new three-qubit code. Because both the new two nine-qubit codes have the normal logical operators, as opposed to the nine-qubit Shor code, it results in different performance when the three codes are applied in concatenated quantum error-correction. On the other hand, one of the two nine-qubit codes has the same stabilizer generators as the nine-qubit Shor code, they are more suitable for the high-wight bit-flip noise, and the other code has the different stabilizer generators, which is more suitable for the high-wight phase-flip noise. This work is enlightening to the construction of quantum error-correcting codes, and adds more options for optimizing the performance of quantum error-correction.
