Ultra Bright Silicon-on-insulator (SOI) Polarization Entangled Photon Source

Polarization-entangled photon sources on silicon chips are useful for scalable quantum computing. By employing novel low-loss fiber-chip couplers and optimizing the entire system, we developed an ultra-bright polarization-entangled photon source with > 97% (H/V) and > 94% (D/A) two photon interference visibility at 200,000 observed raw coincidence rate.

Pair Photon Sources from Micro-Structured Fibres

We have developed an ultra-bright pair-photon source using four wave mixing in micro-structured fibres. This source can serve as a new universal source for quantum information experiments. Using photon pairs created by four-wave mixing, we demonstrate non-classical interference between two separated sources and preliminary evidence for entangled photon pair generation both with high counting rate

Ultra-bright polarization entangled photon sources, e.g. based on time-reversed Hong-Ou-Mandel interference

Entangled photon pairs are key to quantum optical applications like quantum computing and communication. They're typically generated through spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) in non-linear crystals, yet current lab equipment doesn't satisfy the need for robust, compact, and accessible devices. We report about various designs of efficient, ultra-bright entangled photon sources.
