Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI), DevOps techniques, quantum computing, and serverless architectures taken together offer hitherto unheard-of possibilities for retail system optimization. This work explores the possibilities and difficulties resulting from applying AI-driven DevOps techniques in quantum computing settings to improve serverless application performance in retail environments. By means of empirical analysis of hybrid quantum-classical deployment pipelines, we show that, under high availability for retail applications, AI-enhanced DevOps practices can attain up to 40% improvement in deployment efficiency and 35% reduction in quantum resource consumption. Important results show that combined with machine learning-based resource optimization, quantum-aware continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines greatly improve scalability and performance criteria. Evaluating three retail scenarios—dynamic pricing optimization, inventory management, and fraud detection—the research uses a mixed-methods approach combining controlled experiments with IBM Qiskit simulators and AWS Lambda serverless capabilities. Among all the scenarios, results show 51% deployment time reduction, 35% quantum resource optimization, and enhanced application performance. Challenges include, nevertheless, organizational skill gaps, hybrid system complexity, quantum decoherence management, and specialized toolchain needs. The paper offers a complete structure for companies trying to keep strong DevOps standards while using quantum computing benefits in retail serverless architectures. This study adds empirical data, useful recommendations, and performance criteria for real-world implementation scenarios, so supporting the developing field of quantum-enhanced enterprise systems.

Quantum and Quantum-Inspired Approaches in DevOps: A Systematic Review of CI/CD Acceleration Techniques

Venkata Krishna Bharadwaj Parasaram

The performance constraints of conventional DevOps and CI/CD pipelines have been exceeded by the increasing complexity of software systems and the desire for fast, reliable releases. Important DevOps activities including optimising builds, scheduling tests, resolving dependencies, and allocating resources are being investigated as possible accelerators by emerging quantum computing and quantum-inspired approaches. With a particular emphasis on speeding up CI/CD processes, this comprehensive overview analyses recent studies that have investigated the use of quantum and quantum-inspired methods in DevOps. Findings from recent white papers, conference proceedings, and peer-reviewed journals are included in this review. It classifies previous work into primary domains such as quantum optimisation for pipeline scheduling, quantum annealing for combinatorial testing, hybrid classical-quantum models for deployment choices, and quantum-inspired heuristics usable on classical hardware. Most methods are still experimental or hybrid, and the research notes that although some have shown performance benefits, others have practical limits and are not yet ready. Also covered are important issues like skills shortages, algorithm scalability, hardware accessibility, and interface with current DevOps toolchains. Although completely quantum CI/CD pipelines are still in the future, the research finds that quantum-inspired methodologies may increase pipeline efficiency and decision-making in the near term, providing a feasible means to accelerate next-generation DevOps.
