Abstract

Distributing entanglement among distant quantum nodes is essential for building scalable quantum networks. In this paper we propose a scheme to generate multipartite magnonic entanglement in a cavity optomagnonic network via measurement-based feedback. We consider $N$ spatially separated cavity optomagnonic systems and the cavity outputs are coupled through a beam-splitter array. The fields from the array's output ports are subjected to continuous homodyne detection, and the measurement outcomes are fed back to the systems. We analytically demonstrate that multipartite magnonic entanglement can be deterministically generated in the present scheme by tuning the local phases of homodyne detection appropriately. The multipartite entanglement arises from photon-magnon entanglement, which is distributed among the magnonic modes via the beam-splitter-array interferometric measurement. We further reveal that the multipartite entanglement is optimized when the cavity field couples to the magnonic mode via a two-mode squeezing interaction in each cavity optomagnonic system, because such an interaction induces optimal magnonic squeezing when homodyning the cavity output. The present scheme can be directly extended to other light-matter systems for realizing multipartite entanglement of continuous variables. Beyond advancing fundamental quantum research, this work provides a practical platform for magnon-based quantum technologies.

Quantum feedback induced genuine magnon–photon–magnon entanglement and steering in a cavity magnonical system

Qianjun Zheng, Wenxue Zhong, Guangling Cheng +1 more

We present an alternative scheme to generate genuine tripartite entanglement and steering among one photon and two magnons in a cavity magnonical system, where two yttrium iron garnet spheres are respectively placed inside two microwave cavities driven by a two-mode squeezed field and subjected to homodyne-measurement feedback. It is found that quantum feedback on two cavities plays a crucial role in enhancing quantum correlations of photons and magnons. In the absence of measurement feedback, only bipartite entanglement between two magnons is existent. In contrast, when the continuous measurement feedback is present, two magnons are strongly entangled and magnon–photon entanglement also appears. More importantly, the stable genuine magnon–photon–magnon tripartite entanglement and steering could be obtained based on the homodyne-measurement feedback on two microwave cavities, which are robust against the thermal fluctuations. The work we present provides a feasible way to manipulate the multipartite quantum correlations including entanglement and steering in hybrid quantum systems.

Generation of robust optical entanglement in cavity optomagnonics

Hong Xie, Le‐Wei He, Chang-Geng Liao +2 more

We propose a scheme to realize robust optical entanglement in cavity optomagnonics, where two optical whispering gallery modes (WGMs) couple to a magnon mode in a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere. The beam-splitter-like and two-mode squeezing magnon-photon interactions can be realized simultaneously when the two optical WGMs are driven by external fields. Entanglement between the two optical modes is then generated via their coupling with magnons. By exploiting the destructive quantum interference between the bright modes of the interface, the effects of initial thermal occupations of magnons can be eliminated. Moreover, the excitation of the Bogoliubov dark mode is capable of protecting the optical entanglement from thermal heating effects. Therefore, the generated optical entanglement is robust against thermal noise and the requirement of cooling the magnon mode is relaxed. Our scheme may find applications in the study of magnon-based quantum information processing.

Magnon-magnon entanglement generation between two remote interaction-free optomagnonic systems via optical Bell-state measurement

Abstract Finding new strategies for the generation and preservation of quantum resources, e.g. entanglement between spatially separated macroscopic systems enables reliable and fertile platforms to study both fundamental quantum physics and fruitful applications such as quantum networks and distant quantum information processing. Here, we want to address how to generate magnon-magnon entanglement (MME) in an optomagnonic system based on the optical Bell-state measurement. To do so, we consider a hybrid optomagnonic system comprising of two identical, but distant dissipative microwave cavities, each containing a ferromagnetic YIG sphere and a superconducting qubit. Besides, each subsystem is driven via an external laser field. We numerically simulate the solution of the corresponding master equation and discuss the time-dependent as well as the steady state entanglement between the distant magnon modes at different interaction regime. Also, the fidelity of the generated entangled states is studied in detail. Generally, the dissipative environmental effects plague the MME, however, it is possible to generate a considerable amount of MME even at the steady state regime. Also, the results show that the robust MME may be enhanced by applying a relatively strong external pump decreasing the relative magnon damping rate as well as increasing the relative qubit-photon coupling strength, while some other parameters involved in the model, i.e. the atomic damping rate and detuning parameter do not considerably affect the amplitude (the maximum value) of MME. Exceptionally, although the magnon damping rate decreases the amount of MME, the entanglement stability takes place in a longer time interval in the strong magnonic damping regime. Moreover, the maximum of the steady state entanglement may be obtained in the moderate magnon-photon coupling regime provided that the system is driven by strong external pumps. Furthermore, the system can generate robust MME at steady state, especially in the small detuning regime. Our further investigations show that the system can provide relatively high-fidelity magnonic entangled states even in the presence of inevitable environmental effects. The proposed model offers an attractive platform for the generation of quantum resources to establish long-distance quantum networks based on magnonic and photonic systems.

Generation of multipartite entanglement in a cavity-magnomechanical system

Zhen Yang, Biao Xiong, Cheng-song Zhao +1 more

Generating multipartite entanglement is always a popular research field in quantum information processing and quantum optics. In this paper, we propose a scheme to realize all bipartite entanglements and the genuine tripartite entanglement among photon, magnon, and phonon modes in a cavity-magnomechanical system. The center-of-mass motion of a yttrium iron garnet sphere couples to the magnon and constitutes photon-magnon-phonon tripartite interaction. By modulating the detuning between the cavity (magnon) mode and the driven field, we can obtain the optimal photon-phonon entanglement or magnon-phonon entanglement. The genuine tripartite entanglement can be prepared through a suitable detuning. We compare the different entanglement cases with and without effective direct cavity-magnon coupling. The results indicate that the photon-magnon entanglement can be enhanced by the effective cavity-magnon coupling strength, and all bipartite entanglements show greater robustness against the thermal phonon number. This investigation should be useful for phonon-involved multipartite quantum information processing and quantum precision measurement.

Macroscopic distant magnon-mode entanglement via a squeezed drive

Kamran Ullah, M. Tahir Naseem, Özgür Esat Müstecaplıoğlu

The generation of robust entanglement in quantum system arrays is a crucial aspect of the realization of efficient quantum information processing. Recently, the field of quantum magnonics has garnered significant attention as a promising platform for advancing in this direction. In our proposed scheme, we utilize a one-dimensional array of coupled cavities, with each cavity housing a single yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere coupled to the cavity mode through magnetic dipole interaction. To induce entanglement between YIGs, we employ a local squeezed drive, which provides the necessary nonlinearity for entanglement generation. Our results demonstrate the successful generation of bipartite and tripartite entanglement between distant magnon modes, all achieved through a single quantum drive. Furthermore, the steady-state entanglement between magnon modes is robust against magnon dissipation rates and environment temperature. Our results may lead to applications of cavity-magnon arrays in quantum information processing and quantum communication systems.

Generation of entanglement and quantum steering via Josephson parametric amplifier in a dual cavity-magnon system

Abdelkader Hidki, Abderrahim Lakhfif, Mostafa Nassik +2 more

Abstract In the two microwave (MW) cross-shaped cavity magnon system, we describe a method to produce multipartite entanglement and quantum steering. To achieve squeezed states of the magnons, a Josephson parametric amplifier (JPA) creates a squeezed vacuum field that drives the two cavities. We theoretically demonstrate that the cavity-cavity entanglement can be generated at the resonance point, however, increasing the cavity and magnon decay rates generate the cavity-magnon entanglement. By changing the squeezing parameter and increasing the decay rates, we can transfer the cavity-cavity entanglement to cavity-magnon entanglement. Furthermore, the cavity-cavity entanglement (survive up to 2.8 K) was not only found to be much stronger but also more robust as compared to cavity-magnon entanglement (survive up to 0.4 K). More importantly, the genuine photon-magnon-photon tripartite entanglement could be achieved, which is robust against thermal fluctuations and depends strongly on the squeezing parameter. Furthermore, for the current dual cavity-magnon system, two-way quantum steering is found when the optomagnonical couplings are equal. The current study offers a straightforward and practical method for achieving multipartite quantum correlations.
