Abstract

Due to the important role of quantum information technology in the future development of science and technology, researchers have extensively studied the preparation, characterization, and application of quantum systems. It is of great significance to further study the universality and generalization of multi-qubit entangled states. Especially in quantum communication, the actual quantum system is always affected by various noises from the environment. Noise has a significant impact on the properties of the actual quantum system, so we study the effects of noise on a prepared two-photon four-qubit state by two methods. We experimentally simulated the most common bit-flip noise in quantum systems. The law of evolution of the fidelity of two-dimensional four-qubit states and violation of the Mermin inequality and the Ardehali inequality for LR under different levels of bit-flip noise are investigated. The experimental results show that entanglement fidelity and nonlocality can be used to judge the degree of noise interference in the quantum channel and, thus, judge the security of the quantum communication channel. This judgment is of great significance for the realization of practical long-distance multi-node quantum communication.

Evolutions of two-qubit entangled system in different noisy environments and channels

Lian-Zhen Cao, Xia Liu, Jia-Qiang Zhao +4 more

Quantum information technology is mainly based on quantum entanglement. As an important coherent superposition state, the coherence of quantum entanglement source is easily affected by environment and becomes fragile, which will lead to the failure of the quantum information processing. Thus, it is critical to reveal the evolutions of quantum entanglement source under different noisy environments and different noisy channels. Firstly, we experimentally prepare a high-fidelity two-bit entangled state by several technical methods. The fidelity observed for the state prepared in our experiment is 0.993 and the signal-to-noise ratio can reach up to 299. Then, we simulate the bit-flip noise and phase-shift noise (collective and non-collective) using the all-optical experimental setup. Finally, based on the entanglement qubit state, we experimentally study the evolutions of entanglement characteristic under different noisy environments and the single, double and mixed noisy channels. The experimental results show that for the same type of noise, the entanglement properties disappear fast when entangled qubit passes through dual channel noisy environment. The upper bounds of noise intensity to destroy the entanglement property are 0.25 and 0.26 for the single bit-flip noise and phase-shift noisy channels, respectively. The comparison between the two different kinds of noisy environments shows that the entanglement properties disappear fast when entangled bit passes through non-collective environment. The upper bounds of noise intensity are 0.08 and 0.14 for non-collective bit-flip and phase-shift noise to destroy the entanglement property, while the noise intensities are 0.14 and 0.23 for collective bit-flip and phase-shift noise, respectively. For different kinds of noises, the results show that bit-flip noise is more likely to destroy the entanglement properties than the phase-shift. Our results have great significance for the theoretical and experimental studies of entanglement decoherence and have important application value for quantum information processing technology based on the nonlinear optical system.

Experimental investigation and robustness of Ardehali inequality in four-photon six-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state

Xia Liu, Lianzhen Cao, Jia-Qiang Zhao +3 more

By exploiting both the photons’ polarization and spatial degrees of freedom, we experimentally demonstrate a hyper-entangled four-photon six-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state. Based on the state, we experimentally test the multi-particle Ardehali inequality and prove the theoretical prediction of Ardehali. Furthermore, we experimentally first investigate the robustness of the Ardehali inequality for the four-photon six-qubit GHZ state in a bit-flip noise environment and show the good robustness against decoherence for this inequality. Our works provide an experimental benchmark to estimate the safety of quantum channel in the noisy environment.

Fidelity Analysis Under Different Noise Condition for Single Qubit Quantum Teleportation

Manisha Prajapat, Kamal Kishor Choure, Rahul Pandey +3 more

In the domain of quantum communication, quantum teleportation (QT) emerges as a pivotal protocol, enabling the transmission of quantum states across significant distances. However, the ubiquitous presence of quantum noise inevitably affects this process, causing deviations in the teleported state from its intended configuration. This study proposes an innovative approach to mitigate noise error (bit-flip and phase-flip) and within quantum channels. The method involves implementing quantum gates between communicating parties, effectively diminishing the impact of these noise types on the entangled channel and enhancing QT efficacy in noise-prone environments. Experimental results demonstrate that noisy channel has low-fidelity 16.67% in bit flip noise and 68.60% in phase flip noise. The proposed noise mitigation quantum circuit attained the 100% fidelity.

Investigation of the robustness of four qubit hyper-entangled state

Zhao Jia-qian

Using the methods of parametric down conversion and coherent superposition in composite beam splitter, four bits hyper-entangled Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states have been prepared.Contrast and fidelity of the entangled system have also been measured.Through the theoretical analysis of Ardehali inequality,we obtain a measurable Ardehali operator of the four qubit system.Using the relation between the expected value of Ardehali operator and the bit reversal noise intensity, the robustness of the four qubit system is investigated. The results show that the violation of Ardehali inequality versus local realism results decreases with the noise intensity increasing.

Evolution of quantum correlation undergoing decoherence using the information entropy inequality

Xia Liu, Huai-Xin Lu, Jia-Qiang Zhao +3 more

Using the information-theoretic inequality proposed by Braunstein and Caves, we study the evolution of quantum correlation in the presence of different noisy channels. First, we experimentally prepare the high-fidelity two-bit entangled state and simulated the bit-flip and phase-shift noise using an all-optical experimental setup. Then, we study the quantum correlation evolution of a two-bit entangled system using the information difference of entropy under different noisy channels and noisy environments. It is found that the quantum correlation degradation depends on the type of noise and noisy channels. Our work provides a new essential tool for quantum information processing and measurement, and offers new insight into the evolution of quantum correlation in open systems.

Extreme violation of local realism with a hyper-entangled four-photon-eight-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zelinger state

Huai-Xin Lu, Lianzhen Cao, Jia-Qiang Zhao +2 more

The highest qubit Ardehali inequality violation with 203 standard deviations is first experimentally demonstrated using the hyper-entangled four-photon-eight-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) state. Moreover, we experimentally investigate the robustness of the Ardehali inequality for the four-, six-, and eight-qubit GHZ states in a rotary noisy environment systematically. Our results first validate the Ardehali' theoretical statement of relation between violation of Ardehali inequality and particle number, and proved that Ardehali inequality is more robust against noise in larger number qubit GHZ states, and provided an experimental benchmark for us to estimate the safety of quantum channel in the noisy environment.
