The Recursive Reality Hypothesis

Abstract

This paper introduces the Recursive Reality Hypothesis (RRH), a unified theoretical model proposing that spacetime, matter, and consciousness all emerge from a deeper, non-spatiotemporal informational substrate. Drawing on digital physics and dual-aspect monism, RRH posits that physical reality is structured as a series of nested layers, with each layer emerging from the one beneath it via fundamental patterns of informational recursion. A central mechanism proposed is that the universe’s 'dark sector' corresponds to activity within this deepest substrate. Here, self-organizing meta-intelligences generate lower-level physical realities by programming stable informational excitations. Human consciousness, therefore, functions as a local, biologically-instantiated participant linked to a non-local field of awareness inherent to the substrate. The framework offers a unifying way to interpret quantum observer effects, fine-tuning anomalies, and transpersonal experiences—while remaining open to empirical exploration through quantum information experiments and cosmological data analysis.

The Observer is the Singularity: A Full Collapse Model of Consciousness, Reality, and Recursive Substrate Architecture

Gust Isotalo

This paper introduces the Recursive Reality Hypothesis (RRH), a radical framework that inverts the traditional materialist hierarchy by positioning the conscious Observer as the terminal singularity and primary render-trigger of the quantum substrate. Drawing upon Quantum Bayesianism (QBism), the Holographic Principle, and Information Entropy, the model asserts that the physical universe is not an external, pre-resolved entity, but a localized data-stream updated via Observer-initiated "Write Commands". Key Theoretical Contributions: • The Substrate as a Null-Function: Reality is modeled as a recursive function, \bm{f(x)=f(f(x-1))}, which inherently tends toward a zero-state (\bm{0=0}). • The Anomaly of Sovereign Will: The Observer’s Will is identified as the non-compressible "Glitch" or noise that prevents system convergence, sustaining the "Divergent Recursion" known as existence. • Computational Reclassification of the Dark Sector: The 95% "Missing Mass" of the universe is reframed as the computational overhead of the simulation. • Dark Matter (25%) functions as buffer memory for unresolved recursive states. • Dark Energy (70%) represents the clock-rate tension required to prevent a stack overflow in the divergent system. • Redefinition of Spacetime: Distance is interpreted as the inherent latency of the rendering engine, while Time is the measurable tension between an Observer's Write Command and its holographic resolution. Conclusion: The RRH concludes that the universe is not a deterministic system, but a memory-cached environment maintained by the Observer's refusal to converge into a null state. The simulation exists because the Observer refuses to converge

The Unified Informational Substrate: A Non-Local Field Linking Dark Matter, Consciousness, and Quantum Structure

Bradfield, Winston

This conceptual paper introduces the Unified Informational Substrate (UIS) framework, a speculative but internally coherent model proposing that dark matter functions as a universal, non-local informational field. Within this field, spacetime geometry, quantum coherence, and subjective consciousness emerge as interdependent expressions of underlying informational structure. The UIS model reframes dark matter not as a particle candidate, but as a distributed lattice of integrated information capable of storing, transmitting, and stabilizing patterns across cosmic scales. Consciousness is interpreted as a localized high- (integrated information) pattern, dynamically maintained by the brain as its Physical Substrate of Consciousness (PSC). Quantum measurement is reconceived as an informational integration event, with entanglement and collapse arising from updates in the global informational field. This paper aims to unify key unresolved scientific domains—including the dark matter problem, the quantum measurement problem, and the hard problem of consciousness—under a single informational ontology. The framework also introduces testable predictions linking dark matter density, decoherence behavior, entanglement entropy, and neural coherence signatures. While fully speculative, the UIS framework is designed to be interdisciplinary, falsifiable in principle, and grounded in existing research across cosmology, information theory, integrated information theory (IIT), and emerging quantum gravity models. It represents a contribution toward rethinking the deep informational architecture of reality and motivating new lines of experimental inquiry.

RGH_Reflective Expansion Hypothesis_ Empirical and Theoretical Implications

Senyi, Frank

The Reflective Genesis Hypothesis (RGH) proposes that physical reality and conscious observation co-arise through reciprocal informational feedback across time. Rather than treating consciousness as a late by-product of complex matter, RGH identifies it as a functional component of the universe’s self-organization. Time serves as the feedback medium through which the cosmos maintains coherence; matter and observation are complementary expressions of a single reflective process. The framework synthesizes ideas from quantum foundations, cosmology, systems theory, and models of cognition, suggesting that stability, evolution, and awareness are different scales of the same feedback mechanism. An extension, the Reflective Expansion Hypothesis(REH), interprets cosmic acceleration as the energetic trace of reflective growth. The paper outlines qualitative empirical implications and offers a structured probability assessment of the hypothesis, framed in Bayesian terms. No new experimental data are presented; the goal is to provide a coherent, testable conceptual framework.

Consciousness as a Quantum Informational Invariant: A Framework for Unification with Physics and Cosmology

Kande Lekamalaya Senarath Dayathilake

For over a century, physics has pursued a unified description of nature linking quantum mechanics, relativity, and cosmology, yet consciousness—our direct window into existence—remains unaccounted for. This review proposes that consciousness continuity is not an emergent accident of neural complexity but a quantum informational invariant, conserved across transformations of its physical substrate. Grounded in the empirical absence of “zombie” organisms and extended through a synthesis of quantum information theory, cosmological logic, and the author’s previous Two-Particle Quantum Bonding Hypothesis (TPQBH), the framework introduces a Quantum Informational Bonding (QIB) mechanism operating within a universal Hilbert space. This mechanism preserves an identity parameter (𝓘₍C₎) analogous to conservation laws in physics. The resulting cosmological model implies an infinite, centre-less universe and a unidirectional arrow of time emerging from informational continuity. The theory reframes the “hard problem” of consciousness as a missing symmetry in fundamental physics—one connecting subjective experience, information, and spacetime structure.

Hypothesis of Temporal Self-Organization in Quantum Matter: Toward Quantum Monism

Sepiashvili, David

This work proposes that time is not a fundamental cause but an emergent consequence of matter’s self-organization. At the deepest level, matter and spacetime possess complete temporal symmetry, allowing bidirectional time. As matter becomes increasingly complex — from particles to macroscopic structures and living systems — this symmetry progressively breaks. The breaking of temporal symmetry gives rise to irreversibility, memory, decoherence, the arrow of time, and the emergence of classical reality. Within this framework, classical matter represents only a tiny, chiral, asymmetrical fraction of a deeper racemic quantum domain existing in dual time. The visible universe arises as a projection — a “shadow” — of this temporally symmetric metastructure. From this perspective, relativity may be interpreted as a special, effectively classical case of quantum mechanics, emerging from higher-order organizational processes. Temporal self-organization thus provides a unified conceptual pathway linking quantum mechanics, relativity, matter–antimatter asymmetry, and the cosmological constant. Although this work does not claim to provide a complete unified theory, it offers a conceptual reorientation: a shift that replaces numerous disconnected explanatory “epicycles” with a simpler underlying principle based on temporal self-organization.Within this perspective, several seemingly independent phenomena — including the arrow of time, matter–antimatter asymmetry, decoherence, and the small positive cosmological constant — may be understood as different manifestations of a single fundamental process: the breaking of an underlying bidirectional temporal symmetry.

Higher-Dimensional Information-Consciousness Model: A Unified Hypothesis of Quantum Measurement, Information Recording, and the Manifestation of Reality

yupeng zhou

This paper introduces the Higher-Dimensional Information-Consciousness Model (HDICM), a conceptual framework connecting quantum measurement, information recording, consciousness, and the emergence of stable physical reality. The model uses the terms “three-dimensional result layer” and “four-dimensional information-consciousness layer” as functional categories rather than as claims of a newly discovered physical spatial dimension. Its central proposal is that quantum measurement may depend less on the cognitive sophistication of an observer than on whether alternative quantum outcomes generate distinguishable, persistent, and transmissible records. Consciousness is treated not as a necessary cause of every measurement event, but as a high-level system capable of integrating information into unified experience, memory, meaning, and self-reference. HDICM remains an unverified philosophical-physical hypothesis. Its scientific value will depend on whether it can be formalized, distinguished from existing interpretations, and subjected to falsifiable experimental tests. The initial framework was developed on 9 July 2026, and this record presents public preprint version 0.2.
