Phase Diagram and the Ground State of the Decorated Ising Model on a Triangular Lattice with Ferromagnetic Interaction between the First Nearest Neighbors and Antiferromagnetic Interaction between the Next Nearest Neighbors

Vadim A. Mutailamov, Akai Kurbanovich Murtazaev

Abstract The static critical behavior of a 2D decorated ferromagnetic Ising model on a triangular lattice has been investigated by the methods of computational physics. For nodal spins, ferromagnetic exchange interaction between the first nearest neighbors and antiferromagnetic interaction between the next nearest neighbors have been taken into account. Exchange interaction Jd between nodal and decorated spins varies within [–3.0, 3.0]. For different values of Jd, the ground state of the model has been determined, critical temperatures have been calculated, and a phase diagram has been constructed. It has been shown that the magnitude of exchange interaction with decorated spins influences the type of phase transition to the paramagnetic state.

Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless phase transitions of the antiferromagnetic Ising model with ferromagnetic next-nearest-neighbor interactions on the kagome lattice

Yutaka Okabe, Hiromi Otsuka

We investigate the six-state clock universality of the Ising model on the kagome lattice, considering antiferromagnetic nearest-neighbor (NN) and ferromagnetic next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) interactions. Our comprehensive study employs three approaches: the level-spectroscopy method, Monte Carlo simulations, and a machine-learning phase classification technique. In this system, we observe two Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless (BKT) transitions. We present a phase diagram consisting of three phases: the low-temperature ordered phase with sublattice magnetizations, the intermediate BKT phase, and the high-temperature disordered phase, as a function of the ratio of the NNN interaction to the NN interaction. We verify the six-state clock universality through the machine-learning study, which uses data from the six-state clock model on the kagome lattice for training.

Exactly soluble Ising models exhibiting multiphase points

David A. Huse, Julia M. Yeomans, Michael Ellis Fisher

A class of decorated spin 1/2 Ising models is introduced: all bonds of a hypercubic lattice parallel to one axis are decorated by n spins. Within each decorated bond, nearest neighbor ferromagnetic interactions compete with next-nearest neighbor antiferromagnetic interactions. An exact dedecoration transformation reduces the model to an anisotropic Ising model which is exactly soluble in two dimensions (d = 2) and for which accurate series expansion estimates are available for d = 3. Phase diagrams are presented for d = 2 and 3 : all exhibit a multiphase point at which many distinct, spatially modulated commensurate phases coexist. The variation of the characteristic wavevector and other properties are compared and contrasted with those of the axial next-nearest neighbor Ising (ANNNI) models.
