Superadditivity of convex roof coherence measures in multipartite systems

Abstract

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the convex roof measures of quantum coherence, with a focus on their superadditive properties. We propose sufficient conditions and establish a framework for coherence superadditivity in tripartite and multipartite systems. Through theoretical derivation, the relevant theorems are given. These results not only expand our understanding of the superadditivity of pure and mixed states but also characterize the conditions under which the superadditivity relations reach equality. Finally, the proposed methods and conclusions are verified through representative examples, providing new theoretical insights into the distribution of quantum coherence in multipartite systems.

Superadditivity of convex roof coherence measures

C. L. Liu, Qi-Ming Ding, D. M. Tong

Abstract In this paper, we examine the superadditivity of convex roof coherence measures. We put forward a theorem on the superadditivity of convex roof coherence measures, which provides a sufficient condition to identify the convex roof coherence measures fulfilling the superadditivity. By applying the theorem to each of the known convex roof coherence measures, we prove that the coherence of formation and the coherence concurrence are superadditive, while the geometric measure of coherence, the convex roof coherence measure based on linear entropy, the convex roof coherence measure based on fidelity, and convex roof coherence measure based on -entropy are non-superadditive.

Tighter superadditivity relations for l1-norm coherence measure

Kang-Kang Yang, Zhong‐Xi Shen, Zhi-Xi Wang +1 more

Quantum coherence serves as a crucial physical resource, with its quantification emerging as a focal point in contemporary research. Superadditivity constitutes one of the most fundamental attributes in characterizing the coherence distribution in multipartite quantum systems. In this paper, we provide a way to derive tighter superadditivity inequalities of [Formula: see text]-norm coherence measure for arbitrary multiqubit states. We present a category of superadditivity relations related to the [Formula: see text]th [Formula: see text] power of [Formula: see text]-norm coherence [Formula: see text] under certain conditions. Our results are better than the existing ones and are illustrated in detail with examples.

Strong superadditivity relations for multiqubit systems

Xianfei Qi, Ting Gao, Fengli Yan +1 more

Abstract We investigate the distributions of quantum coherence characterized by superadditivity relations in multipartite quantum systems. General superadditivity inequalities based on the α th ( α ⩾ 1 ) power of l 1 norm of coherence are presented for multiqubit states, which include the existing ones as special cases. Our result is shown to be tighter than the existing one by a specific example.

Additivity of coherence measures

Chen Shi, Xiao-Dan Cui, D. L. Zhou

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the additivity of coherence measures. We demonstrate that all known additive conditions for coherence measures under incoherent operations can be reduced to a simple criterion: C ( ρ ⊗ ρ ) = 2 C ( ρ ) . Utilizing this result, we present the necessary and sufficient conditions for the additivity of superadditive convex roof coherence measures. Furthermore, we examine whether the set of additive coherence measures can provide the necessary and sufficient conditions for state transformations. We find that additive coherence measures are not sufficient for identifying state transformations under incoherent operations.

Closed expressions for one-qubit states of convex roof coherence measures

Xiao-Dan Cui, C L Liu

Abstract We study the closed expressions of the convex roof coherence measures for one-qubit states in this paper. We present the analytical expressions for the convex roof coherence measures, C f ( ρ ) , of one-qubit states with C f ( φ ) := f ( c 0 2 , c 1 2 ) (where | φ ⟩ = c 0 | 0 ⟩ + c 1 | 1 ⟩ ) being convex with respect to the l 1 norm of coherence of ϕ (i.e. C l 1 ( φ ) ), such coherence measures including the coherence of formation, the geometric measure of coherence, the coherence concurrence, and the coherence rank. We further present the operational interpretations of these measures. Finally, we present the usefulness of the convex roof coherence measures C f ( φ ) being non-convex with respect to C l 1 ( φ ) by giving the necessary and sufficient conditions for the transformations p φ 1 ⊕ ( 1 − p ) φ 2 → q ϕ 1 ⊕ ( 1 − q ) ϕ 2 via incoherent operations, where ϕ i , φ j ( i , j = 1 , 2 ) are one-qubit pure states and 0 ⩽ p , q ⩽ 1 .
