In this work, we develop quantum reversible counterparts of the logical AND, NAND, OR, NOR, and XOR gates within a single architectural template: a quantum Fourier transform (QFT)–based adder that emulates a digital half‐adder by computing the sum and carry of two input bits. Each member of the gate family is obtained from the same adder by inserting only X and SWAP gates as pre‐ and postprocessing steps, with the required Boolean identities supplied by De Morgan’s laws. We prove that every proposed circuit is unitary prior to readout, so the input data remain recoverable from the output state. The construction generalizes to N ‐input gates through an in‐place population‐count (Hamming‐weight) register, and we derive explicitly that the resulting qubit requirement is N + log 2 N , compared with the 2 N − 1 qubits of the standard Toffoli‐ladder synthesis; the derivation is validated by exhaustive simulation for N ≤ 8. We provide a comprehensive resource analysis‐qubit count, gate count, circuit depth, CX count, T count, transpiled depth, and success probability‐against Toffoli‐, CNOT‐, and X‐gate‐based reversible circuits as well as three multicontrolled‐NOT decompositions with different ancilla‐depth trade‐offs. The analysis shows that the qubit saving is obtained at the price of a larger two‐qubit‐gate count, and identifies the regimes in which the QFT‐based design is advantageous. All two‐input gates and a four‐input NAND instance are executed for every input combination on IBM quantum hardware and on a calibrated noise‐model simulator, and the measured outputs consistently reproduce the corresponding truth tables, with hardware success probabilities of 0.97–0.99 for the two‐input gates and 0.88–0.93 for the four‐input NAND.

Reversible logic is expanding grounds with its applicability to various upcoming technologies and quantum computation. Numerous reversible gates has also been proposed for designing logic circuits apart of basic quantum controlled Toffoli and Fredkin gates. A comparative study and analysis of a range of reversible gates from the literature is presented in this paper to obtain an optimal solution for designing these circuits. The gates are synthesized and implemented to obtain equivalent quantum circuits and operating cost in terms of number of inputs, gate cost, quantum cost, garbage output and ancilla input. The comparison is done at two subsequent levels i.e. gates structural level and circuit design level, providing a better solution for designing logic circuits. It is calculated that, basic gates are 50% efficient at gate level and 33% at design level analysis in terms of gate cost, as compared to the most efficient gates proposed in the literature.
Background/Objectives: The objective is to reduce the Quantum Cost (QC), Garbage Output (GO) and Gate Counts in the design of the adder by incorporating the Novel Reversible Gates. Methods/Statistical Analysis: In recent day’s energy dissipation is the major complex problem in circuit designing in order to recede this problem the reversible logic is employed, where the input vectors can be derived from the output vectors and from the output vectors the input vectors can be procured. In the current scenario, power consumption, speed, size and heat dissipation are the huge challenge in the semiconductor industries. When the size of the single computing element is reduced then the speed can be improved and also if the power dissipation is reduced then the heat dissipation will be less. The possible solution for these two problems is the Reversible Logic and Quantum Cellular Automata (QCA). The Reversible Logic is considered to be the promising technology to the future Quantum computer technologies. The Reversible Logic gates prune the power dissipation to a larger extent. In this paper Novel Reversible Gates are proposed with Reversibility and Universality. The Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU) is designed with the proposed Reversible Gates in Reversible Logic. The designed Arithmetic and Logic unit is evaluated in QCA with the required specifications. The Arithmetic and Logic Unit is designed by setting the control inputs for each unit. The parameters taken into account are Quantum Cost (QC), Garbage Outputs (GO), Constant Inputs (CI), Area, Number of Cells and Simulation Time. The proposed ALU adopting Novel gates finds utilization in low power applications. Also it can be used as the module in the Quantum computers due to its reduced Quantum Cost and Garbage outputs.
