Abstract

Quantum Artificial Intelligence (QAI) stands for the combination of the exercise of ‘quantum computing’ and ‘artificial intelligence’ that drives breakthrough transformation across various industries. In this paper, it is discussed on how QAI is bringing change across industries including pharmaceuticals, finance, weather prediction, supply chain, security, smart cities, agriculture, telecommunication, and education. With quantum mechanics conceptions, QAI enhance computation ability to address more data, and enhance the algorithms. Quantum technologies have potential for attachment to AI systems and make the previously unachievable innovations with the help of overgrowing the classical models. As a conclusion, this paper also discusses its result on the methodological difficulties and ethical issues of QAI, the need to build strategic partnerships and the need for well-regulated legislation. The results extend our understanding of QAI to apprehend the future of technology and its application for solving some of the greatest problems that the world faces today.

Introduction to Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence

Gursewak Singh, Nimisha Singh, Ramandeep Sandhu +2 more

Quantum Artificial Intelligence (QAI) combines quantum computing with artificial intelligence (AI) to surpass the traditional barriers of classical computing systems, such as their inability to solve large-scale optimization problems or simulate complex quantum systems, which require exponentially increasing computational resources. Quantum computing, on the other hand, makes use of quantum mechanical phenomena of superposition, entanglement, and interference to process millions of data points in parallel, avoiding the exponential computation needed in many complex problems. QAI combines principles of quantum computing with AI techniques, thereby accelerating model learning. Some of the most notable applications include drug discovery in terms of exact predictions of molecular interactions, due to the enhancement of quantum simulations. There are cryptographic applications where QAI challenges classical encryption but also contains more advanced, non-breakable quantum cryptographic methods. In the same way as general advances in the field of data analysis and optimization, these domains would change: financial modeling, cybersecurity, and climate science. The biggest challenges remaining in scaling quantum hardware are noise and decoherence. Solutions will require major advances in quantum error correction, along with hybrid quantum-classical systems integrating the strengths of each. At this point, added to the list of critical concerns in the development of QAI are ethical considerations such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and transparency. But all this notwithstanding, QAI has the transformative potential to solve problems that classical AI was unable to solve and drive innovation in domains ranging from healthcare and environmental science to cryptography and beyond. Unlocking its full capabilities and overcoming the resultant technical and ethical challenges is by way of further research and collaboration.

Quantum Artificial Intelligence and Its Benefits for Businesses

Abhishek Bhattacharjee, Ajay Kumar Badhan, Raman Kumar +1 more

Although Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a huge influence on organizations, its capabilities are getting close to reaching a bottleneck for some complicated jobs. Utilizing quantum computing (QC), the emerging quantum AI (QAI) discipline provides a novel approach. This chapter reveals how QAI can revolutionize the way businesses operate. First, we dispel the myths surrounding qubits, superposition, and entanglement, which are the fundamental ideas of quantum mechanics. Those ideas permit QAI to resolve issues that conventional AI can’t clear up. We take a look at how QAI gives improved trouble-fixing abilities to forms and businesses, particularly in computationally demanding domains like drug research and chemical science. This chapter additionally explores how QAI complements information evaluation. Corporations can use QAI to analyze large datasets at formerly unheard-of speeds and ranges of efficiency, for you to improve decision-making in areas such as financial modeling, marketplace forecasting, and logistics optimization. Moreover, QAI transforms machine learning by speeding up the training of complex models, establishing the door for advanced AI programs in a variety of sectors. We present real-world examples from various industries, such as pharmaceutical research, financial risk management, cybersecurity, and logistics to demonstrate the practical uses of QAI. It is imperative to understand the present constraints of QAI technology, including challenges in error correction and hardware complexity. We also discussed ongoing research and development initiatives aimed at creating more dependable QAI systems and briefly addressed the ethical considerations surrounding their use. This chapter concludes by highlighting QAI’s ability to revolutionize business. QAI may transform several sectors by providing enhanced capabilities for data analysis, machine learning, and problem-solving. To obtain a competitive advantage in the future, we advise organizations to stay up-to-date and explore the potential of this emerging technology.

Quantum Artificial Intelligence: A Review of Techniques, Applications, and Future Directions

Kalyani Guddanti

Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to drive innovation across industries, but faces mounting challenges in computational scalability, optimization, and interpretability as models grow increasingly complex. Quantum Artificial Intelligence (QAI) offers a promising path forward by leveraging quantum phenomena such as superposition and entanglement to augment learning processes beyond classical limits. This review synthesizes the recent progress in QAI, emphasizing a comparative perspective framed through its advantages and limitations. It examines how hybrid quantum-classical architectures and variational models seek to address constraints in the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) era, and how applications in healthcare, finance, and cybersecurity illustrate both the potential and the barriers of the field. While several studies have broadly mapped the growth of QAI in algorithms and applications, this paper adopts a different perspective: emphasizing comparative analysis through advantages and limitations. The focus is on where QAI offers unique opportunities, where it encounters obstacles distinct from classical AI and quantum computing, and what research directions may transform these challenges into breakthroughs. By situating QAI within this comparative framework, the paper provides a realistic yet forward-looking assessment of its trajectory as a paradigm poised to reshape computational intelligence.
