Abstract

We theoretically propose a scheme to generate and control continuous variable bipartite entanglement and Gaussian quantum steering in an optical whispering gallery mode (WGM)-based cavity optomagnonical system that consists of two macroscopic YIG resonator. Owing to the well-known Faraday effect, both the magnon modes are coupled to single-mode optical WGM through nonlinear interaction. We investigate in detail the impact of several physical parameters such as effective cavity detuning, input laser power, environment temperature, optomagnonical coupling strengths and magnon decay rate on different bipartite entanglement. We also found a suitable parameter regime to obtain maximum cavity-magnon and magnon-magnon bipartite entanglement in our proposed system. It is interesting to note that the numerical simulation result shows that magnon-magnon entanglement persists up to 60K. With a proper choice of optomagnonical coupling strengths and normalized effective cavity detuning, we can effectively control the nature and strength of Gaussian quantum steering. In the WGM-based cavity optomagnonical system, our current work will offer a new way of greatly controlling a variety of nonclassical quantum correlations of macroscopic objects, which may find use in a number of contemporary quantum technology fields.

Enhanced bipartite entanglement and Gaussian quantum steering of squeezed magnon modes

Shaik Liyakhath Ahmed, M. Amazioug, Jia‐Xin Peng +1 more

We theoretically investigate a scheme to entangle two squeezed magnon modes in a double cavitymagnon system, where both cavities are driven by a two-mode squeezed vacuum microwave field. Each cavity contains an optical parametric amplifier as well as a macroscopic yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere placed near the maximum bias magnetic fields such that this leads to the excitation of the relevant magnon mode and its coupling with the corresponding cavity mode. We have obtained optimal parameter regimes for achieving the strong magnon-magnon entanglement and also studied the effectiveness of this scheme towards the mismatch of both the cavity-magnon couplings and decay parameters. We have also explored the entanglement transfer efficiency including Gaussian quantum steering in our proposed system

Entanglement and quantum coherence of two YIG spheres in a hybrid Laguerre–Gaussian cavity optomechanics

Abdelkader Hidki, Jia‐Xin Peng, S. K. Singh +2 more

We theoretically investigate continuous variable entanglement and macroscopic quantum coherence in the hybrid L-G rotational cavity optomechanical system containing two YIG spheres. In this system, a single L-G cavity mode and both magnon modes (which are due to the collective excitation of spins in two YIG spheres) are coupled through the magnetic dipole interaction whereas the L-G cavity mode can also exchange orbital angular momentum (OAM) with the rotating mirror (RM). We study in detail the effects of various physical parameters like cavity and both magnon detunings, environment temperature, optorotational and magnon coupling strengths on the bipartite entanglement and the macroscopic quantum coherence as well. We also explore parameter regimes to achieve maximum values for both of these quantum correlations. We also observed that the parameters regime for achieving maximum bipartite entanglement is completely different from macroscopic quantum coherence. So, our present study shall provide a method to control various nonclassical quantum correlations of macroscopic objects in the hybrid L-G rotational cavity optomechanical system and have potential applications in quantum sensing, quantum meteorology, and quantum information science.

Enhanced Magnon Synchronization in Coupled WGM Optomagnonic Resonators with Phase-Dependent Photon Hopping

Le-Ji Xue, Ying-Jian Zhu, Jaspal Singh +4 more

We investigate quantum synchronization in a coupled cavity optomagnonic system which consists of two spatially separated optical whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) resonators and each resonator is also coupled to a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere through the optomagnonic interaction. Phase-dependent single-photon hopping factor couples the two optical resonators and provides an indirect interaction between the two distant magnon modes. We then investigate complete synchronization, φ-synchronization, and quantum phase synchronization using the covariance-matrix formalism as well as also studying the effects of the hopping term on the overall synchronization dynamics of two distant magnon modes. It can be seen that the photon-hopping phase provides an efficient way to control the synchronization dynamics and when it is varied from 0 to π, the magnon trajectories gradually evolve from weakly correlated motion to a highly synchronized state, which is also accompanied by a significant reduction in the synchronization error. The influence of the photon-hopping strength and thermal fluctuations is also investigated, where it can be seen that stronger photon hopping enhances all synchronization measures, while thermal noise weakens the coherent correlations responsible for synchronized dynamics. Our results demonstrate that the phase of the hopping factor offers a simple and effective approach for controlling synchronization dynamics in WGM based coupled cavity optomagnonic systems and also provide a useful route towards coherent control of collective magnon dynamics in such quantum optomganonic devices.

Generation of robust optical entanglement in cavity optomagnonics

Hong Xie, Le‐Wei He, Chang-Geng Liao +2 more

We propose a scheme to realize robust optical entanglement in cavity optomagnonics, where two optical whispering gallery modes (WGMs) couple to a magnon mode in a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere. The beam-splitter-like and two-mode squeezing magnon-photon interactions can be realized simultaneously when the two optical WGMs are driven by external fields. Entanglement between the two optical modes is then generated via their coupling with magnons. By exploiting the destructive quantum interference between the bright modes of the interface, the effects of initial thermal occupations of magnons can be eliminated. Moreover, the excitation of the Bogoliubov dark mode is capable of protecting the optical entanglement from thermal heating effects. Therefore, the generated optical entanglement is robust against thermal noise and the requirement of cooling the magnon mode is relaxed. Our scheme may find applications in the study of magnon-based quantum information processing.

Remote magnon entanglement between two massive ferrimagnetic spheres via cavity optomagnonics

Wei-Jiang Wu, Yi‐Pu Wang, Jinze Wu +2 more

Recent studies show that hybrid quantum systems based on magnonics provide a new and promising platform for generating macroscopic quantum states involving a large number of spins. Here, we show how to entangle two magnon modes in two massive yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) spheres using cavity optomagnonics, where magnons couple to high-quality optical whispering gallery modes supported by the YIG sphere. The spheres can be as large as 1 mm in diameter and each sphere contains more than ${10}^{18}$ spins. The proposal is based on the asymmetry of the Stokes and anti-Stokes sidebands generated by the magnon-induced Brillouin light scattering in cavity optomagnonics. This allows one to utilize the Stokes and anti-Stokes scattering process, respectively, for generating and verifying the entanglement. Our work indicates that cavity optomagnonics could be a promising system for preparing macroscopic quantum states.

Tunable Entangling and Steering of Ferrimagnetic Magnons Via an OptoMagnoMechanical Ring

Ziyad Imara, Isaac Pérez Castillo, K. El Anouz +1 more

ABSTRACT Recently, magnomechanical systems have emerged as promising platforms for quantum technologies, exploiting magnon–photon–phonon interactions to store high‐fidelity quantum information. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme to entangle two spatially separated ferrimagnetic YIG crystals by injecting a laser field into an optomagnonic ring cavity. The proposed optomagnomechanical configuration utilizes the coupling between magnetostriction‐induced mechanical displacements and the optical cavity via radiation pressure. Magnons, collective spin excitations in macroscopic ferrimagnets, are directly driven by an electromagnetic field. We demonstrate the generation of a robust macroscopic entangled state via exciting the optical cavity with a red‐detuned laser field and the YIG crystals with blue‐detuned microwave fields. Our analysis reveals that magnon entanglement vanishes for identical magnomechanical couplings and remains robust against thermal fluctuations. Moreover, the quantum steering can be tuned directionally by the asymmetry of the magnomechanical coupling, allowing for a selective control of the optomagnetic quantum correlations. The entangled magnon modes in two ferrimagnetic crystals represent genuine macroscopic quantum states with potential applications in the study of macroscopic quantum mechanics and quantum information processing based on magnonics. Our model is based on experimentally accessible parameters, providing a feasible route to quantum technologies.
