Evolution Equations for Cumulants of Distribution Functions of Particle Systems with Topological Interaction

Abstract

The article formulates the concept of a cumulant representation for distribution functions that describe the state of many-particle systems with topological interaction, i.e., using the interaction potential determined by the proximity rank of particles. Cumulants of probability distribution functions are interpreted as correlations of particle states and are defined as solutions of the corresponding cluster expansions of probability distribution functions. We emphasize that the correlations that arise during the evolution of a system of particles with topological interaction naturally differ from the structure of correlations of many-particle systems, the state of which is traditionally described by symmetric probability distribution functions. The article establishes a hierarchy of evolution nonlinear equations for correlation functions (hierarchy of recursive Liouville equations). In the space sequences of integrated functions, a non-perturbative solution of the Cauchy problem for a hierarchy of such nonlinear evolution equations is constructed. Typical properties of the expansion of such a solution, which are generated by the properties of its generating operators, namely, cumulants of groups of operators of Liouville equations, are investigated. Based on the dynamics of correlations, the structure of series expansions is established, which determines reduced distribution functions, as well as reduced correlation functions, which, in particular, made it possible to substantiate the structure of generating operators of the solution of the Cauchy problem for the hierarchy of BBGKY equations (Bogolyubov–Born–Green–Kirkwood–Yvon). It is proved that the structure of expansions for correlation functions, the generating operators of which are cumulants of groups of operators of the corresponding order of Liouville equations, induces the cumulant structure of series expansions for reduced distribution functions and reduced correlation functions. Thus, the dynamics of state correlations generate the dynamics of many-particle systems with topological interaction.

Cumulant Expansions of Groups of Operators for Particle Systems with Topological Nearest-neighbor Interaction

V. I. Gerasimenko, Igor V. Gapyak

This article discusses the structure of expansions that represent non-perturbative solutions of the Cauchy problem for the evolution equation hierarchies for the state and observables of many-particle systems with topological nearest-neighbor interaction. The generating operators for these expansions are derived using a proposed cluster expansion method applied to the groups of operators in the Liouville equations for both states and observables, respectively. The article also introduced the concept of a cumulant representation for distribution functions that describe the state of many particles with topological interactions and constructs a non-perturbative solution to the Cauchy problem for the hierarchy of nonlinear evolution equations for the cumulants of distribution functions. Furthermore, a relationship is established between the constructed solution and the series expansion structures for reduced distribution and correlation functions.

Evolution of correlations of quantum many-particle systems

V. I. Gerasimenko, V. O. Shtyk

We consider the origin of the microscopic description of correlations in quantum systems. For correlation operators that give the alternative description of the quantum state evolution of many-particle systems, we deduce the von Neumann hierarchy of nonlinear equations and discuss the relationships of its solution both with the solution of the BBGKY hierarchy and with the s -particle correlation operators. A solution of the von Neumann hierarchy is constructed in the form of an expansion over particle clusters whose evolution is described by the corresponding order cumulant (semi-invariant) of evolution operators of the von Neumann equations for the density operators. For the initial data from the space of sequences of trace class operators the existence of a strong and a weak solution of the Cauchy problem is proved.

This paper is devoted to the problem of the description of nonequilibrium correlations of quantum many-particle systems. A non-perturbative solution of the Cauchy problem of the nonlinear quantum BBGKY hierarchy for marginal correlation operators is constructed as an expansion over particle clusters which evolution is governed by the corresponding-order cumulant of the nonlinear groups of operators generated by the von Neumann hierarchy.

A nonperturbative solution of the nonlinear BBGKY hierarchy for marginal correlation operators

V. I. Gerasimenko, D.O. Polishchuk

We consider the problem of the rigorous description of nonequilibrium quantum correlations. Within the framework of an alternative approach to the description of the evolution of states of finitely many particles in terms of correlation operators governed by the von Neumann hierarchy, we derive the nonlinear quantum Bogoliubov–Born–Green–Kirkwood–Yvon (BBGKY) hierarchy for marginal correlation operators that is adopted to the description of quantum infinite‐particle systems as well. A nonperturbative solution of the Cauchy problem of the nonlinear quantum BBGKY hierarchy for marginal correlation operators is constructed. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Evolution of Correlations of Many-Particle Quantum Systems in Condensed States

V. I. Gerasimenko

We review some new approaches to the description of the evolution of states of many-particle quantum systems by means of the correlation operators. Using the denition of marginal correlation operators within the framework of dynamics of correlations governed by the von Neumann hierarchy, we establish that a sequence of such operators is governed by the nonlinear quantum BBGKY hierarchy. The constructed nonperturbative solution of the Cauchy problem to this hierarchy of nonlinear evolution equations describes the processes of the creation and the propagation of correlations in many-particle quantum systems. Moreover, we consider the problem of the rigorous description of collective behavior of many-particle quantum systems by means of a one-particle (marginal) correlation operator that is a solution of the generalized quantum kinetic equation with initial correlations, in particular, correlations characterizing the condensed states of systems.

Dynamics of correlations of Bose and Fermi particles

V. I. Gerasimenko, Dmytro Polishchuk

We discuss the origin of the microscopic description of correlations in quantum many-particle systems obeying Fermi–Dirac and Bose–Einstein statistics. For correlation operators that give the alternative description of the quantum state evolution of Bose and Fermi particles, we deduce the von Neumann hierarchy of nonlinear equations and construct the solution of its initial-value problem in the corresponding spaces of sequences of trace class operators. The links of constructed solution both with the solution of the quantum BBGKY hierarchy and with the nonlinear BBGKY hierarchy for marginal correlation operators are discussed. The solutions of the Cauchy problems of these hierarchies are constructed, in particular for initial data satisfying a chaos property. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
