Abstract

The success of cybersecurity security depends on cryptographic protocols because they shield sensitive information as well as communication channels and serve to authenticate procedures. These protocols derive their foundation from producing robust random numbers because these numbers serve as the basis for encryption key creation and digital signature generation along with secure access protocols. Random number generators used traditionally such as PRNGs and HRNGs suffer from determinism, and predictability flaws combined with the risk of outside tampering thus affecting their reliability. The weaknesses in cryptographic security become dangerous because of the rising quantum computer threats that would break current encryption methods. Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs) introduce revolutionary changes through the quantum mechanics properties of quantum superposition and photon polarization and vacuum fluctuations for truly random number generation. The use of QRNGs brings high-security benefits by giving algorithms unpredictable outputs that hackers cannot predict nor alter without being detected. Implementing QRNGs in cybersecurity networks enables better encryption algorithms as well as securely protected communication systems with strong resistance against contemporary cyber attacks. This article outlines the advantages of QRNGs over traditional RNGs, applications in cryptographic systems, and how they can protect against threats from emerging quantum computing technologies. It also covers the challenges in implementing QRNGs, including hardware complexity, cost, and integration into existing security infrastructures. As cyber threats continue to evolve, QRNGs represent an important milestone in ensuring robust and future-proof cryptographic security

Randomness is essential in cryptography for key generation and secure information exchange, ensuring confidentiality and protection. Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs) leverage quantum mechanics to produce truly random numbers, offering a major advantage over Pseudo Random Number Generators (PRNGs), which are slower and less secure due to their deterministic nature. Quantum computing boosts QRNG efficiency, making them ideal for cryptographic applications, such as secure key exchange and encrypted communication. QRNGs generate stronger encryption systems by utilizing quantum phenomena like Bloch sphere rotations. The integration of machine learning (ML) with QRNGs further enhances their effectiveness, optimizing random sequences for improved speed and security. This combination of QRNGs and ML provides a powerful approach to cryptography, ensuring more secure communication channels and better protection against potential attacks.

Quantum Computing Applications to Enhance Cryptographic Techniques for Cybersecurity Decision Systems

Deepak Dasaratha Rao, Reghunath K, Senduru Srinivasulu +3 more

Quantum computing has introduced both new and intriguing possibilities and challenges to the cybersecurity industry. Quantum algorithms pose a threat to conventional encryption methods since they can optimize search queries (Grover's algorithm) or factor integers (Shor's algorithm), two formerly difficult operations. Quantum technologies also offer ways to secure data and communications, making them impenetrable to prying eyes. In this study, we look at quantum computing's possibilities in cybersecurity, first as a substitute for traditional cryptographic techniques and second as a way to speed up the development of solutions that are resistant to or even better than quantum-level attacks. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) further strengthens encryption by automatically detecting eavesdropping and using keys generated by Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG). Organizations construct future-proof infrastructures that improve threat detection, secure data transfer, and safeguard sensitive information by integrating these cryptographic technologies based on quantum theory into their cybersecurity decision systems. Intentionally adjusting cybersecurity frameworks to integrate quantum technologies while lowering new dangers is emphasized in the study.

Quantum Randomness in Cryptography—A Survey of Cryptosystems, RNG-Based Ciphers, and QRNGs

Anish Saini, Athanasios Tsokanos, Raimund Kirner

Cryptography is the study and practice of secure communication with digital data and focuses on confidentiality, integrity, and authentication. Random number generators (RNGs) generate random numbers to enhance security. Even though the cryptographic algorithms are public and their strength depends on the keys, cryptoanalysis of encrypted ciphers can significantly contribute to the unveiling of the cipher’s key. Therefore, to ensure high data security over a network, researchers need to improve the randomness of keys as they develop cryptosystems. Quantum particles have a leading edge in advancing RNG technology as they can provide true randomness, unlike pseudo-random numbers generators (PRNGs). In order to increase the level of the security of cryptographic systems based on random numbers, this survey focuses on three objectives: Cryptosystems with related cryptographic attacks, RNG-based cryptosystems, and the design of quantum random number generators (QRNGs). This survey aims to provide researchers with information about the importance of RNG-based ciphers and various research techniques for QRNGs that can incorporate quantum-based true randomness in cryptosystems.

Quantum AI for cybersecurity in financial supply chains: Enhancing cryptography using random security generators

Muhammed Azeez, Uyiosa Osarumen Ugiagbe, Ibiso Albert-Sogules +5 more

Securing the financial supply chains of the United States against sophisticated cyber threats is crucial in the digital age. This research integrates Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance cybersecurity in financial supply chains. QRNGs leverage quantum mechanics to generate truly random numbers, essential for creating secure cryptographic keys, addressing the vulnerabilities of traditional deterministic RNGs. Our results demonstrate the superior performance of the QRNG-based system compared to classical RNG systems. The QRNG showed high entropy and unpredictability, passing NIST SP800-22 and Diehard tests with significantly higher rates. The AI component achieved high precision and recall in detecting cyber threats, enhancing the system's real-time security capabilities. The combined QRNG and AI system exhibited faster encryption and decryption speeds, lower latency, and higher resistance to predictive, quantum, and brute-force attacks. This research underscores the critical importance of adopting QRNGs and AI to secure financial supply chains. The integrated system offers robust cryptographic protection and real-time threat detection, providing a comprehensive solution to mitigate cyber threats. These findings highlight the potential of QRNG and AI technologies to revolutionize cybersecurity in the financial sector, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of financial transactions and protecting critical financial infrastructure.

AI-BASED QUANTUM RANDOM NUMBER GENERATION FOR SECURE COMMUNICATIONS

Narayana Gaddam

One of the solutions to the problem of secure communication is the Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs) which generate true randomness based on quantum mechanical principles.QRNGs are different from conventional pseudo random number generator in that they use quantum uncertainty to generate outputs which are very unpredictable. This work attempts to examine different QRNG architectures, study the possible integration of cryptographic frameworks with these architectures and highlight potential vulnerabilities in the integration of cryptographic frameworks with QRNG architectures.Post-processing techniques, i.e.Zero-Phase Component Analysis (ZPCA) and neural network based techniques are also studied to increase entropy and suppress environmental noise in QRNG systems.Key findings show that system jitter models based QRNG architectures are more scalable and less expensive for use in real world applications.Additionally, incorporating cryptographic protocols with the QRNGs endows them with the ability to resist quantum threats, and hence, provide better key distribution in the secure IoT communication frameworks. However, as security problems such as side channel attacks and hardware manipulation are still big issues. It also points out some of the emerging research trends including hybrid QRNG architectures, i.e., QRNG with classical PRNG to increase the entropy rate.As such, the proposed methodologies attempt to enhance QRNG scalability, security, and energy efficiency in cloud infrastructures, in mobile systems and in critical security environments. The advancement of these technologies will assume a crucial function in the advancement of quantum-safe frames for current advanced computerized foundation.
