Abstract

The concept of Agentic AI, which focuses on empowering autonomous systems with human-like decision-making capabilities, has gained substantial attention in recent years. By leveraging advanced reinforcement learning (RL) techniques and cognitive frameworks, Agentic AI aims to enable machines to make complex decisions in dynamic environments with minimal human intervention. This paper introduces Agentic AI, a novel approach that combines Quantum Reinforcement Learning (QRL) and Cognitive Neuromorphic Frameworks to empower autonomous decision-making in complex environments. The proposed model leverages quantum computing principles to accelerate learning in reinforcement-based systems, while cognitive neuromorphic frameworks enhance adaptability and real-time decision-making by mimicking human brain functionality. The integration of QRL allows for faster convergence in learning algorithms, improving decision accuracy by 25% and reducing training time by 40%. Cognitive neuromorphic architectures offer enhanced scalability and resilience in dynamic environments, resulting in a 35% improvement in system robustness during testing. Simulations in autonomous navigation and robotic control show that Agentic AI achieves 20% more efficient task execution compared to traditional AI models. These values underscore the potential of the proposed system to revolutionize autonomous systems, providing a robust foundation for decision-making across a range of applications.

Quantum-Enhanced Reinforcement Learning (QRL) for Robotics

Jincheng Zhang

This paper explores the application of Quantum-Enhanced Reinforcement Learning (QRL) to robotics, aiming to accelerate learning speeds and enable more intelligent decision-making in complex environments. Traditional reinforcement learning algorithms often struggle with scalability and convergence, particularly when dealing with high-dimensional state spaces and complex environments. Quantum computing offers the potential to overcome these limitations by leveraging quantum mechanics to perform computations that are intractable for classical computers. We propose a novel QRL framework that utilizes quantum-enhanced reinforcement learning to improve exploration, adaptation, and overall performance. The core mechanism involves employing quantum circuits to represent and manipulate the state space, facilitating more efficient learning and potentially uncovering novel strategies. This research investigates the feasibility and potential impact of QRL on robotic control, focusing on scenarios requiring rapid adaptation and robust decision-making in dynamic environments. We present preliminary results demonstrating the efficacy of our approach in a simulated robotic task involving navigation and obstacle avoidance.

HQN-RL: Hybrid Quantum-Neuromorphic Reinforcement Learning for Adaptive Intelligent Control of Automated Vehicles

Mazyar Taghavi, Javad Vahidi

This paper presents a hybrid quantum neuromorphic reinforcement learning framework for adaptive intelligent control of automated vehicles operating in uncertain and heterogeneous environments. The proposed architecture integrates quantum sampling for exploration with neuromorphic computing for real-time, energy-efficient policy execution, enabling rapid convergence and robust behavior under nonstationary driving conditions. A unified theoretical analysis is provided, covering hybrid optimization convergence, controller stability, and computational complexity. The framework is evaluated through largescale simulations, quantum hardware experiments, neuromorphic processor deployment, and a sim-to-real study involving five autonomous vehicles tested in a controlled environment at the Intelligent Knowledge City research facility in Isfahan, Iran. Results demonstrate improved sample efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and enhanced robustness compared with classical reinforcement learning baselines. Furthermore, the hybrid design maintains real-time feasibility and scalability, showing promise for next-generation autonomous driving systems requiring adaptive decision-making under limited computational resources. All source code and implementation details for reproduction and further research are publicly available in the project repository.

Quantum-Inspired Reinforcement Learning Models for Adaptive Decision-Making in Neuromorphic Computational Systems

Pasuluri Binduswetha, Amjad Ali Syed, S. P. Maniraj +2 more

Recent progress in quantum-inspired computing and neuromorphic machine has rekindled the quest to develop learning systems capable of probabilistic thinking, and which can be run with the energy efficiency of the brain. However, the vast majority of reinforcement learning (RL) models can be described as being constrained by strict update policies and high power usage when implemented on a spiking architecture or an edge-based architecture. To fill this gap, it is proposed in this study that a Quantum-Inspired Reinforcement Learning (QiRL) framework can combine the policy encoding based on amplitude, and the neuromorphic adaptation to reach real-time and low-energy decision-making. In contrast to the traditional RL, QiRL incorporates phase-modulated dynamics of the interference to enhance positive learning and discourage reward oscillation.

Quantum machine learning for autonomous agents

Meenakshi Munjal, Rajanish Kumar Kaushal

Autonomous agents are being used in more complex and dynamic environments where efficient learning, adaptive decision-making, and scalable optimization are required. Although classical machine learning (ML) and reinforcement methods have greatly contributed to agent intelligence, they are usually restricted by constraints of computational complexity, scaling, and convergence to high-dimensional decision space. The current developments in quantum computing have created new possibilities to solve these problems using quantum ML (QML). In this chapter, the authors discuss the implementation of QML in collaboration with autonomous agents in the larger paradigm of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum AI agents. It offers a hybrid classical–quantum architectural model where quantum learning modules improve perception, policy learning, and decision optimization, and do not conflict with classical agent pipelines. The chapter analyzes application cases in autonomous robotics, intelligent transportation systems, multi-agent coordination, smart energy management, as well as communication networks, and the chapter shows the potential benefits of quantum-enhanced learning in these areas. The issue of quantum hardware neediness, data encoding, scaling, hybrid integration, and real-life application are critically evaluated and unanswered. In summary, the chapter is a well-organized approach to the purpose of QML in the development of the next-generation autonomous agent and an insight into creating practical, scalable, and intelligent quantum AI agents.

Quantum-Inspired Reinforcement Learning for Real-Time Decision-Making: Advancing Efficiency and Adaptability in Dynamic Systems

Maneesh Kumar, Ramy Riad Al–Fatlawy, Ravi Mogili +3 more

The current natural evolution of the world of real-time decision-making algorithms is unable to keep up with the fast changing complexity and dynamics of today’s world. Particularly in automotive, smart grids, robotics, or other applying fields, such ultra efficient decision making is demanded in a situation of rapidly changing conditions with high requirements on computation resources. As the first contribution, Quantum Inspired Reinforcement Learning (QIRLF) proposes a new method of addressing these challenges via marrying the fundamental elements of quantum theory to reinforcement learning. At the same time, QIRLF exploits quantum inspired state representation to explore many potential states concomitantly, thereby improving the efficiency in its decisions making process. Besides quantum tunneling and probabilistic action choice mechanisms faster convergence to optimal solutions are possible in values of state spaces, and multi-agent entanglement improves cooperation between the agents. The framework is adaptable in being able to make real time decisions in dynamic environments and is efficient by having quantum feedback loops that continuously refine decision policies. QIRLF reduces significantly the decision-making time and computational load compared to traditional, by using quantum inspired techniques. By applying this approach we not only enhance decision speed and reliability but also help in developing effective, energy efficient solutions for the complex real time systems, making it possible for more advanced, environment friendly technologies in systems needing fast, accurate and quick decisions.
