Abstract

We propose a method for realizing the nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade (NUPB) effect in a spinning microwave magnomechanical system. We determine the optimal parameter conditions for achieving this effect and observe that the numerical solutions are in excellent agreement with the analytical results. Under these optimal conditions, driving the system from the right induces photon antibunching, while driving from the left with identical amplitude leads to photon bunching. This pronounced asymmetry gives rise to NUPB, which arises from the combined effects of destructive quantum interference in two-photon excitation pathways and the Sagnac effect. Furthermore, NUPB can be tuned by adjusting the angular velocity of the microwave resonator. This work provides significant theoretical support for the realization of nonreciprocal single-photon sources and opens new avenues for the design and application of nonreciprocal quantum devices.

Nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade with spinning two-mode cavity coupled via χ(2) nonlinearities

In this paper, we propose how to achieve nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade (NUPB) in a spinning system consisting of two single-mode cavities with [Formula: see text] nonlinearity through the Fizeau drag when the two cavities are driven simultaneously. Under the weak driving condition, we discuss the physical origins of nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade, which originates from the destructive interference between different paths from the ground state to the two-photon state by driving the device from the left side. While the quantum interference paths are broken when the device is driven from the right side, resulting in photon bunching. The optimal condition for the nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade is analytically derived. We also calculate the analytical expression of the delayed-time second-order correction function and compare it with the numerical simulation. Finally, we show that nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade never occurs with a single driving since two closed quantum pathways cannot be formed.

Nonreciprocal photon blockade in a spinning microwave magnomechanical system through kerr-magnon and optical parametric amplifier

S. K. Singh, Mohamed Amazioug, Jia-Xin Peng +3 more

Unconventional quantum antibunching, arising from quantum interference effects, represents a notable form of quantum correlation that has attracted significant attention for its ability to generate high-quality single-quantum sources. In this work, we propose a scheme to achieve and actively control strong photon blockade in a spinning microwave magnomechanical system by leveraging the combined nonlinear effects of Kerr-induced magnon interactions and an optical parametric amplifier. By exploiting the Sagnac-Fizeau shift, we establish nonreciprocal photon blockade and verify this effect through a combination of analytical modelling and numerical simulations. To gain intuitive insight into the underlying nonreciprocity, we approximate the equal-time second-order correlation function using the analytical solution of the Schrödinger equation. This analytical result is then compared with the full numerical solution derived from the Lindblad master equation. The influences of thermal noise, the probe field amplitude, and the magnetic-dipole coupling strength are investigated within the constraints of the weak-coupling regime. The system's nonclassicality is characterized using the Mandel parameter, complemented by an analysis of the time evolution of the second-order correlation function. Our work provides a pathway for realizing nonreciprocal photon blockade in a nonlinear spinning microwave magnomechanical system.

Nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade in atom-cavity with χ(2) nonlinear medium

H. Z. Shen, T. Z. Luan, Y. H. Zhou +2 more

In this paper, we show that the photon blockade (PB) can be observed in a nonreciprocal way with a driven spinning atom-cavity coupled filled with [Formula: see text] nonlinear medium. We analytically derive the optimal conditions for strong photon antibunching, which are in good agreement with those obtained by numerical simulations. Under the weak driving condition, we discuss the physical origins of the nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade (UPB), which originates from the destructive quantum interference between different paths from the ground state to two-photon states by driving the device from the left side. While the quantum interference paths are broken when the device is driven from the right side, which leads to the occurrence of the photon bunching. Moreover in the opposite direction of driving the device, we also observe another nonreciprocal UPB effect, which can occur by generating bunching and antibunching effects via driving the device from the left and right sides under the derived optimal conditions, respectively. Finally, we cannot observe the nonreciprocal UPB phenomenon with the large cavity decay compared to the atomic spontaneous emission rate (or the bad cavity limit), and give the physical reason behind it. Possible experimental implementation for this scheme is presented.

Nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade with spinning atom-cavity

Jiao Wang, Qiu Wang, H. Z. Shen

In this work, we propose to manipulate the statistical properties of the photons transport nonreciprocally via rotating nonlinear devices consisting of an atom coupled to a spinning cavity. This nonreciprocal effect allows the flow of light from one side but blocks it from the other with the same driving strength. We show that the nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade can happen when the cavity is driven by the laser field. Under the weak driving condition, we discuss the physical origins of the nonreciprocal unconventional photon blockade, which originates from the destructive quantum interference between different paths from the ground state to the two-photon state by driving the device from the left side, while the quantum interference paths are broken when the device is driven from the right side, which leads to the occurring of the photon bunching. The optimal conditions for strong photon antibunching are analytically derived, which are in good agreement with those obtained by numerical simulations. Our proposal has potential applications for the on-chip nonreciprocal single-photon devices and provides an effective way for potential applications in solid state quantum computation and quantum information process.

Controlled Nonreciprocal Magnon and Photon Blockade Using Barnett Effects in a Spinning Microwave Magnomechanical System

Mohamed Amazioug, S. Abdel‐Khalek, Muhammad Asjad

Abstract Unconventional magnon and photon blockade have attracted significant research interest for their ability to generate single‐particle sources in hybrid quantum systems, particularly in cavity magnonics. In this work, a scheme is presented to investigate the effect of Barnett effects in the nonreciprocal blocked of magnons and photons within a spinning microwave magnomechanical system with a squeezed input drive of the magnonic mode. The effects of thermal noise, the amplitude of a probe field, and the magnetic‐dipole coupling strength are realized using the weak‐coupling regime. Using the Mandel parameter, the nonclassicality of the system is discussed. Additionally, the time evolution of the second‐order correlation function is examined.

Nonreciprocal magnon blockade via combining Barnett and Sagnac effects in a nonlinear system

Shangyong Feng, Yulu Du, Guangling Cheng +2 more

We propose a scheme to achieve nonreciprocal unconventional magnon blockade (NUMB) based on the Barnett and Sagnac effects in a hybrid nonlinear system, in which a microwave cavity with two modes and a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere are included. Two cavity modes with the fundamental and the second-harmonic frequencies are coupled by virtue of the χ (2) nonlinear materials, and meanwhile, the fundamental mode interacts with the magnon mode via the magnetic dipole interaction. Under weak driving and coupling conditions, the magnon blockade is obtained, where the second-order correlation function has been used to analyze the magnon antibunching based on the numerical simulations and analytical calculations. The underlying mechanism is that quantum destructive interference occurs between different transition paths. In addition, the combination of the Barnett and Sagnac effects, which leads to the simultaneous frequency shifts of the magnon and two microwave modes, could induce the nonreciprocity of magnon antibunching due to the positive and negative detunings via changing the direction of the external fields. The scheme we present is based on the weak near-resonant coupling between quantum modes and the weak driving of magnon and photon modes, which may demonstrate the potential for achieving the single-magnon resource in a hybrid cavity magnonic system and provide valuable guidance for the design of nonreciprocal magnon devices.
