Entanglement Detection Based on the Generalized Landau-Pollak Uncertainty Relation for $(N, M)$-POVMs

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce a criterion for detecting entanglement based on the uncertainty relation. Our focus is on the generalized Landau-Pollak uncertainty relation and the generalized quantum measurements$(N, M)$-POVMs for quantum state tomography. We introduce a generalized Landau-Pollak uncertainty relation for$(N, M)$-POVMs, which is tighter than other inequalities of its kind. Using this relation, we introduce the criterion for detecting entanglement. In this criterion, a relation between the certainty of a bipartite system and the certainty of the subsystem plays the important role. We also demonstrate the ability to detect both the maximally entangled state and the isortopic state under certain parameters.

Entanglement criteria via concave-function uncertainty relations

Yichen Huang

A general theorem as a necessary condition for the separability of quantum states in both finite and infinite dimensional systems, based on concave-function uncertainty relations, is derived. Two special cases of the general theorem are stronger than two known entanglement criteria based on the Shannon entropic uncertainty relation and the Landau-Pollak uncertainty relation, respectively; other special cases are able to detect entanglement where some famous entanglement criteria fail.

Multipartite entanglement detection based on the generalized state-dependent entropic uncertainty relation for multiple measurements

Li-Hang Ren, Yun‐Hao Shi, Jinjun Chen +1 more

We present the generalized state-dependent entropic uncertainty relations in a multiple measurements setting and the optimal lower bound is obtained by considering different measurement sequences. We then apply this uncertainty relation to witness entanglement and give the experimentally accessible lower bounds on both bipartite and tripartite entanglements. This method of detecting entanglement is applied to a physical system of two particles on a one-dimensional lattice and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ)-Werner state. It is shown that, for measurements that are not in mutually unbiased bases, this generalized entropic uncertainty relation is superior to the previous state-independent one in entanglement detection. Furthermore, we conduct a demonstration of multipartite entanglement detection of GHZ states up to ten qubits on the Quafu cloud quantum computation platform. Our results might play important roles in detecting multipartite entanglement experimentally.

Entanglement criterion for tripartite systems based on local sum uncertainty relations

Y. Akbari-Kourbolagh, M. Azhdargalam

We propose a sufficient criterion for the entanglement of tripartite systems based on local sum uncertainty relations for arbitrarily chosen observables of subsystems. This criterion generalizes the tighter criterion for bipartite systems introduced by Zhang et al. [C.-J. Zhang, H. Nha, Y.-S. Zhang, and G.-C. Guo, Phys. Rev. A 81, 012324 (2010)] and can be used for both discrete- and continuous-variable systems. It enables us to detect the entanglement of quantum states without having a complete knowledge of them. Its utility is illustrated by some examples of three-qubit, qutrit-qutrit-qubit, and three-mode Gaussian states. It is found that, in comparison with other criteria, this criterion is able to detect some three-qubit bound entangled states more efficiently.

Separability criterion in prime dimensions based on Landau-Pollak uncertainty relation

M. Yoshida, Takayuki Miyadera, Hideki Imai

We introduce a novel separability criterion for bipartite systems that consist of prime dimensional Hilbert spaces. We derive a strict Landau-Pollak uncertainty relation for observables related with MUB, which allows us to obtain the separability criterion. For the isotropic states, our criterion distinguishes the entangled states correctly.

Multipartite entanglement criterion from uncertainty relations

Jérémie Gillet, Thierry Bastin, G. S. Agarwal

We formulate an entanglement criterion using Peres-Horodecki positive partial transpose operations combined with the Schr\"odinger-Robertson uncertainty relation. We show that any pure entangled bipartite and tripartite state can be detected by experimentally measuring mean values and variances of specific observables. Those observables must satisfy a specific condition in order to be used, and we show their general form in the $2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}2$ (two qubits) dimension case. The criterion is applied on a variety of physical systems including bipartite and multipartite mixed states and reveals itself to be stronger than the Bell inequalities and other criteria. The criterion also work on continuous variable cat states and angular momentum states of the radiation field.

Identifying the $3$-qubit $W$ state with quantum uncertainty relation

Zhi-Jie Liu, Hao-Nan Qiang, Jie Zhou +2 more

The $W$ state, a canonical representative of multipartite quantum entanglement, plays a crucial role in quantum information science due to its robust entanglement properties. Quantum uncertainty relations, on the other hand, are a fundamental cornerstone of quantum mechanics. This paper introduces a novel approach to Identifying tripartite $W$ states by leveraging tripartite quantum uncertainty relations. By employing a specific set of non-commuting observables, we formulate an uncertainty-based criterion for identifying $W$ states and rigorously demonstrate its generality in distinguishing them from other tripartite entangled states, such as the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state. Our approach bypasses the need for complete quantum state tomography, as it requires only the verification of a set of uncertainty inequalities for efficient $W$-state identification. This work provides a new theoretical tool for identifying multipartite entangled states and underscores the significant role of quantum uncertainty relations in entanglement characterization.
