Abstract

Abstract We investigate quantum steering of Dirac field for different types of Bell states in Schwarzschild–de Sitter (SdS) spacetime that has a black hole event horizon (BEH) and a cosmological event horizon (CEH). We find that fermionic steerability from Bob to Alice is greater than fermionic steerability from Alice to Bob, while bosonic steerability exhibits the opposite behavior in SdS spacetime. These different properties between fermionic and bosonic steering arise from the differences between Fermi–Dirac statistics and Bose–Einstein statistics. We also find that the Hawking effect of the black hole decreases fermionic steerability. However, the Hawking effect of the expanding universe can enhance fermionic steerability, which differs from the properties of quantum steering in single-event horizon spacetime. Interestingly, we can indirectly protect quantum steering by using appropriate types of Bell states in multi-event horizon spacetime. These conclusions are helpful to guide the task of processing relativistic quantum information for quantum steering in SdS spacetime.

Gaussian quantum steering in multi-event horizon spacetime

Shu-Min Wu, Jinxuan Li, Xiaowei Fan +3 more

Abstract We study Gaussian quantum steering in the Schwarzschild–de Sitter (SdS) spacetime that is endowed with both a black hole event horizon (BEH) and a cosmological event horizon (CEH), giving rise to two different Hawking temperatures. It is shown that the Hawking effect of the black hole always reduces the quantum steering, but the Hawking effect of the expanding universe does not always play the same role. For the first time, we find that the Hawking effect can improve quantum steering. We also find that the observer who locates in the BEH has stronger steerability than the observer who locates in CEH. Further, we study the steering asymmetry, and the conditions for two-way, one-way and no-way steering in the SdS spacetime. Finally, we study the Gaussian quantum steering in the scenario of effective equilibrium temperature. We show that quantum steering reduces monotonically with the effective temperature but now increases monotonically with the Hawking temperature of the black hole, which banishes the belief that the Hawking effect can only destroy quantum steering.

Quantum steering for different types of Bell-like states in gravitational background

Si-Han Li, Si-Han Shang, Shu-Min Wu

In a relativistic framework, it is generally accepted that quantum steering of maximally entangled states provides greater advantages in practical applications compared to non-maximally entangled states. In this paper, we investigate quantum steering for four different types of Bell-like states of fermionic modes near the event horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole. In some parameter spaces, the peak of steering asymmetry corresponds to a transition from two-way to one-way steerability for Bell-like states under the influence of the Hawking effect. It is intriguing to find that the fermionic steerability of the maximally entangled states experiences sudden death with the Hawking temperature, while the fermionic steerability of the non-maximally entangled states maintains indefinite persistence at infinite Hawking temperature. In contrast to prior research, this finding suggests that quantum steering of non-maximally entangled states is more advantageous than that of maximally entangled states for processing quantum tasks in the gravitational background. This surprising result overturns the traditional idea of “the advantage of maximally entangled steering in the relativistic framework” and provides a new perspective for understanding the Hawking effect of the black hole.

Gaussian quantum steering and its asymmetry in curved spacetime

Jieci Wang, Haixin Cao, Jiliang Jing +1 more

We study Gaussian quantum steering and its asymmetry in the background of a Schwarzschild black hole. We present a Gaussian channel description of quantum state evolution under the influence of Hawking radiation. We find that thermal noise introduced by the Hawking effect will destroy the steerability between an inertial observer Alice and an accelerated observer Bob who hovers outside the event horizon, while it generates steerability between Bob and a hypothetical observer anti-Bob inside the event horizon. Unlike entanglement behaviors in curved spacetime, here the steering from Alice to Bob suffers from a ``sudden death'' and the steering from anti-Bob to Bob experiences a ``sudden birth'' with increasing Hawking temperature. We also find that the Gaussian steering is always asymmetric and the maximum steering asymmetry cannot exceed $\mathrm{ln}2$, which means the state never evolves to an extremal asymmetry state. Furthermore, we obtain the parameter settings that maximize steering asymmetry and find that (i) $s=\mathrm{arccosh}\frac{{\mathrm{cosh}}^{2}r}{1\ensuremath{-}{\mathrm{sinh}}^{2}r}$ is the critical point of steering asymmetry and (ii) the attainment of maximal steering asymmetry indicates the transition between one-way steerability and both-way steerability for the two-mode Gaussian state under the influence of Hawking radiation.

Hierarchical relationship of nonlocal correlations in Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetime

Huimin Yao, Li Zhang, Cuihong Wen +1 more

Abstract We investigate the hierarchy of nonlocal correlations for Dirac fields in the Schwarzschild de Sitter (SdS) spacetime. We find that the hierarchical relationship between the nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) and Bell nonlocality remains in the multi-event horizon curved spacetime. It is demonstrated that the NAQC and Bell nonlocality provide a more rigorous characterization of physically inaccessible quantum properties than coherence, as classical information cannot be transmitted across the thermally opaque membrane. Furthermore, when considering an effective equilibrium temperature, an enhancement in quantum nonlocality with increasing temperature is observed, which challenges the conventional understanding that the Hawking effect solely diminishes quantum nonlocality. This study contributes to integrating quantum resource theory within the context of multi-event horizon black holes.

Genuine entanglement near multi-event horizon in N-partite system

X. L. Huang, Si-Yu Liu

Abstract We study genuine N-partite entanglement of massless Dirac fields new a black hole event horizon (BEH) and a cosmological event horizon (CEH) in the Schwarzschild–de Sitter (SdS) spacetime, respectively. We obtain the general analytical expression of genuine N-partite entanglement shared by N observers, each located near the BEH and CEH, respectively. It is shown that genuine N-partite entanglement situated near the BEH can decrease to zero with the decrease of the mass of the black hole, suggesting that the Hawking effect of the black hole destroys quantum entanglement. Because the Hawking effect of the black hole located near the CEH is very weak, its impact on quantum entanglement is negligible. In addition, choosing appropriate initial parameters is beneficial to protecting quantum entanglement in multi-event horizon spacetime.

Genuine N-partite entanglement in Schwarzschild-de Sitter black hole spacetime

Shu-Min Wu, Xiao-Wei Teng, Xiao-Li Huang +1 more

Abstract Complex quantum information tasks in a gravitational background require multipartite entanglement for effective processing. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the properties of multipartite entanglement in a relativistic setting. In this paper, we study genuine N-partite entanglement of massless Dirac fields in the Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS) spacetime, characterized by the presence of a black hole event horizon (BEH) and a cosmological event horizon (CEH). We obtain the general analytical expression of genuine N-partite entanglement shared by n observers near BEH and m ( $$n+m=N$$ n + m = N ) observers near CEH. It is shown that genuine N-partite entanglement monotonically decreases with the decrease of the mass of the black hole, suggesting that the Hawking effect of the black hole destroys quantum entanglement. It is interesting to note that genuine N-partite entanglement is a non-monotonic function of the cosmological constant, meaning that the Hawking effect of the expanding universe can enhance quantum entanglement. This result contrasts with multipartite entanglement in single-event horizon spacetime, offering a new perspective on the Hawking effect in multi-event horizon spacetime.
