Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a theoretical analysis of remote information transmission based on a cavity-magnon quantum system. We first investigate the dynamics of a two-site coupled-cavity model, where each cavity contains a magnon. Under the condition of large hopping between two cavities or large detuning between the magnon and cavity modes, the state transfer between two distant magnons could be achieved without exciting the cavity field modes. Optimal coherent state transfer is also demonstrated by carefully adjusting parameters to suppress the cavity excitations. Our model could be utilized as the building block for quantum network by extending to one-dimensional coupled cavity chains.

Quantum information parallel transfer utilizing multimode cat state encoding in a cavity-magnon system

Si-Qi Lin, Xiao-Yu Bi, Sai-Yun Ye +1 more

Abstract Information transfer between different nodes, particularly parallel information transfer, is fundamental to the realization of quantum networks. In this paper, we propose a scheme for implementing a quantum information parallel transfer that utilizes multimode cat state encoding within a cavity-magnon system. The quantum information parallel transfer module consists of four cavities, each containing a YIG sphere. Our findings indicate that by adjusting the coupling strength and detuning between the magnons and the cavities, the encoded information can be transferred from one pair of cavities to another with high fidelity. The model presented in this study has the potential to serve as a framework for the development of ring networks or one-dimensional cavity chain structures.

Distant entanglement via photon hopping in a coupled cavity magnomechanical system

Amjad Sohail, Jia‐Xin Peng, Abdelkader Hidki +2 more

We theoretically propose a scheme to generate distant bipartite entanglement between various subsystems in coupled magnomechanical systems where both the microwave cavities are coupled through single photon hopping coupling strength Γ. Each cavity contains a magnon mode and phonon mode and this gives six excitation modes in our model Hamiltonian which are cavity-1 photons, cavity-2 photons, magnon and phonon in cavity-1, and magnon and phonon in cavity-2. We found that significant bipartite entanglement exists between indirectly coupled subsystems in coupled microwave cavities for an appropriate set of parameters regime. Moreover, we also obtain suitable cavity and magnon detuning parameters for a significant distant bipartite entanglement in different bipartitions. In addition, it can be seen that a single photon hopping parameter significantly affects both the degree as well as the transfer of quantum entanglement between various bipartitions. Hence, our present study related to coupled microwave cavity magnomechanical configuration will open new perspectives in coherent control of various quantum correlations including quantum state transfer among macroscopic quantum systems.

Quantum Network with Magnonic and Mechanical Nodes

Jie Li, Yi‐Pu Wang, Wei-Jiang Wu +2 more

A quantum network consisting of magnonic and mechanical nodes connected by light is proposed.Recent years have witnessed a significant development in cavity magnonics based on collective spin excitations in ferrimagnetic crystals, such as yttrium iron garnet (YIG).Magnonic systems are considered to be a promising building block for a future quantum network. However, a major limitation of the system is that the coherence time of the magnon excitations is limited by their intrinsic loss (typically in the order of 1 μs for YIG).Here, we show that by coupling the magnonic system to a mechanical system using optical pulses, an arbitrary magnonic state (either classical or quantum) can be transferred to and stored in a distant long-lived mechanical resonator. The fidelity depends on the pulse parameters and the transmission loss.We further show that the magnonic and mechanical nodes can be prepared in a macroscopic entangled state. These demonstrate the quantum state transfer and entanglement distribution in such a novel quantum network of magnonic and mechanical nodes. Our work shows the possibility to connect two separate fields of optomagnonics and optomechanics, and to build a long-distance quantum network based on magnonic and mechanical systems.

We theoretically propose a scheme to generate distant bipartite entanglement between various subsystems in coupled magnomechanical systems where both the microwave cavities are coupled through single photon hopping parameter. Each cavity also contains a magnon mode and phonon mode and this gives five excitation modes in our model Hamiltonian which are cavity-1 photons, cavity-2 photons, magnon, and phonon modes in both YIG spheres. We found that significant bipartite entanglement exists between indirectly coupled subsystems in coupled microwave cavities for an appropriate set of parameters regime. Quantum state transfer with cavity–magnonics nodes

Ye‐Ting Yan, Chengsong Zhao, Zhen Yang +2 more

Abstract We put forward a proposal to construct a quantum network using a hybrid cavity–magnonics system as with two nodes. At each node, a cascade of the quantum system consists of cavity–magnonics and magnonic–qubit interactions, and the quantum interface between the flying qubit and superconducting qubit is mediated by a magnon. Considering the phase resulting from the distance between the two nodes, we derive a master equation for two superconducting qubits and show that, by adiabatically controlling the cavity–magnon coupling, perfect quantum state transfer between two qubits can be realized. We also consider the influence of intrinsic dissipation of the magnetic mode and the cavity mode. In an unideal case, the design time-dependent cavity–magnonics couplings obtained in the ideal case are still employed. Our results show that low intrinsic loss in the magnetic mode and the cavity mode is still welcome for the high fidelity of state transfer.

Dynamics in a system of four qubits in two cavities

Duong Hai Trieu

We study the dynamics of a closed system of four qubits in two coupled cavities. Each cavity contains two qubits which interact with it's quantum field and photons which may hop between the cavities. The state of the system is first expressed in delocalized modes and then is expressed in the system of local bases. Exact general solutions are obtained for one-excitation state with arbitrary initial condition. We consider in detail two cases of large and small hopping at resonance. In the case of resonance and large hopping the state of the first qubit may also be transferred to the second qubit in the same cavity without excitation of the field. Such transfer of states minimizes decoherence due to photon loss.
