Abstract

Abstract The quantum entanglement and the one‐way quantum steering in cavity magnonic system composed of a yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere and two microwave cavities, one of which is driven by a two‐photon drive field, are studied. Bipartite entanglement, tripartite entanglement, and steering can be achieved under the four‐wave mixing process. It is shown that the degree of entanglement and the direction of one‐way steering can be manipulated not only by designing the dissipation ratio between the two cavity modes but also by regulating the coherent coupling strength ratio between the two cavity modes and the magnon mode. It is found that the direction of steering is associated with the populations of the two cavity modes, meaning that the mode with a greater population always dominates the steering direction. Especially, the transfer between cavity–magnon entanglement and cavity–cavity entanglement can be realized by adjusting the coupling strengths. The findings provide a practical method for coherently manipulating entanglement and one‐way steering in cavity–magnon system.

Parametric controllable one-way quantum steering induced by four-wave mixing in cavity magnonics

Nan Wang, Zhi‐Bo Yang, Shiyan Li +2 more

Abstract Quantum steering plays a crucial role in quantum communication and one-way quantum computation. Here, we study quantum steering between two magnon modes in a cavity-magnonics system by applying a two-photon drive field to the microwave cavity. The two magnon modes are entangled and the one-way steering can be implemented when the four-wave mixing is triggered. Different from most schemes that use the dissipation of the system to control quantum steering, in our scheme the one-way steering can be modulated on demand by adjusting the coherent coupling ratio between the two magnons and the cavity, which provides a flexible and feasible way in experiments. We also reveal that the directionality of quantum steering is related to the mode populations, i.e., the mode with a larger population dominants the steering. Our study has high manipulability and may provide a promising platform for one-way quantum computing and communications based on macroscopic entanglement state.

Implementation of One‐Way Quantum Steering and Controlled Generation of Asymmetric Tripartite Entanglement in Double Coupling Cavity‐Magnonics Subsystems

Yue‐Han Lin, Ya‐Qin Lin, Rong‐Can Yang +1 more

Abstract Two cavity‐magnon subsystems coupled via the two single‐mode cavities mediated by a non‐degenerate parametric down conversion and each cavity carrying a magnon confined in a Yttrium‐iron‐garnet sphere is proposed to study one‐way quantum steering and asymmetric tripartite entanglement. The entanglement can be transferred from the two microwave cavities to the two separated magnon modes using magnetic dipole interaction. Different from previous schemes, the present study demonstrates efficient realization of controllable one‐way quantum steering between two magnon modes through asymmetric frequency detunings of the two magnon modes. In addition, an asymmetric tripartite entanglement can also be achieved. Furthermore, the system exhibits robustness to temperatures up to 100 mK, providing a promising avenue for utilizing cavity magnonics systems in unidirectional transmission of quantum information.

Quantum entanglement and one-way steering in a cavity magnomechanical system via a squeezed vacuum field

Wei Zhang, Tie Wang, Xue Yan Han +2 more

We propose a simple scheme to generate quantum entanglement and one-way steering between distinct mode pairs in a generic cavity magnomechanical system, which is composed of a microwave cavity and a yttrium iron garnet sphere supporting magnon and phonon modes. The microwave cavity is pumped by a weak squeezed vacuum field, which plays an important role for establishing quantum entanglement and steering. It is found that when the magnon mode is driven by the red-detuned laser, the maximum entanglement between cavity mode and phonon mode and the maximum phonon-to-photon one-way steering can be effectively generated via adjusting the ratio of two coupling rates. While under the much weaker magnomechanical coupling, the quantum entanglement and one-way steering between cavity mode and magnon mode can be achieved, where the steering direction is determined merely by the relative dissipation strength of the cavity to the magnon mode. More interestingly, we reveal that the robustness to the temperature for entanglement and steering between any mode pairs can be evidently enhanced by selecting the squeezing parameter appropriately.

Manipulation of One‐Way Gaussian Steering via Quantum Correlated Microwave Fields

Zhi‐Bo Yang, Hongyu Liu, Rong‐Can Yang

Abstract Manipulation of one‐way Gaussian steering in macroscopic systems is outstandingly challenging in modern physics. In this paper, a cavity magnomechanical system is used which is composed of two spatially separate microwave cavities and two massive yttrium iron garnet (YIG) spheres in order for one‐way Gaussian steering. The two cavities are pumped by a two‐mode squeezed light, while both two YIG spheres are individually driven by a classical field at a red sideband with respect to the magnon mode. By creating different excitations for the two phonon modes, the systemic symmetry is broken and one‐way Gaussian steering with strong entanglement between two phonon modes induced by the deformation of YIG spheres is achieved. This finding may provide a novel method to manipulate asymmetric quantum steering between two long‐distance macroscopic objects which is of great importance for quantum information processing.

Enhancement of Steady Quantum Entanglement and Directional Controllability of Quantum Steering in Cavity Magnetic Hybrid Systems

Xin‐Yi Yin, Zhi‐Bo Yang, Yumei Huang +3 more

Abstract Quantum entanglement (QE) and quantum steering (QS) are of importance for quantum information processing and computation. Though there are several schemes proposed for their realization, how to increase their degrees encounters a great challenge. In the present manuscript, it is proposed to enhance steady QE and control Gaussian QS for two magnons using a two‐photon field acting on either magnon. The cavity‐magnetic hybrid system consists of a microwave cavity in which two identical Yttrium‐iron‐garnet spheres are placed and the cavity is driven by a Josephson parametric amplifier (JPA) so as to generate steady QE and control Gaussian QS for the two Kittel modes. Besides, a two‐photon driving field acting on either magnon in order to enhance the degree of QE and the ability of QS. The best condition to maximum entanglement and steering degrees for the two magnon modes at MHz and is found via the competitive relationship between the two‐photon driving and JPA. Furthermore, it is revealed that steering direction for the two magnons can be controlled not only by the ratio between the two photon‐magnon coupling parameters but also by the two‐photon driving field, making controllable steering direction become easier.

Generation of Entanglement and Perfect One‐Way EPR Steering via Kerr Nonlinearity in Cavity Magnonics System

Jia‐Xin Wang, Cheng‐Hua Bai, Qi Guo

Abstract A scheme is proposed for generating entanglement and achieving perfect one‐way EPR (Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen) steering in a cross‐shaped cavity magnonics system via the Kerr effect arising from magnetocrystalline anisotropy. The scheme involves two microwave cavities with distinct quality factors that simultaneously couple to a magnon mode of a macroscopic yttrium‐iron‐garnet sphere via the magnetic‐dipole interaction. It is demonstrated that both the bipartite and tripartite entanglement among the three modes will be generated due to Kerr nonlinearity, and the perfect one‐way EPR steering will also be achieved between the cavity with higher quality factor and the magnon mode. Notably, this scheme differs from conventional protocols that produce asymmetric EPR steering by introducing additional unbalanced losses or noises; instead, it can generate and manipulate one‐way EPR steering solely by adjusting the detuning between the magnon mode and the microwave drive field. It is also analyzed that the robustness of the entanglement and EPR steering against the dissipation of magnon and environmental temperature. The present scheme may provide a promising platform and an efficient quantum resource for quantum information processing.
