Quantitative characterization of several entanglement detection criteria

Alexander Sauer, József Zsolt Bernád

Quantitative characterization of different entanglement detection criteria for bipartite systems is presented. We review the implication sequence of these criteria and then numerically estimate volume ratios between criteria nonviolating quantum states and all quantum states. The numerical approach is based on the hit-and-run algorithm, which is applied to the convex set of all quantum states embedded into a Euclidean vector space of the Hilbert-Schmidt inner product. We demonstrate that reduction, majorization, and the R\'enyi-entropy-based criteria are very ineffective compared to the positive partial transpose. In the case of the R\'enyi-entropy-based criterion, we show that the ratio of detectable entanglement increases with the order of the R\'enyi entropy.

Volume Law and Universality of Entanglement Entropy in Random Graph Fermi Systems

Saikat Sur

We study the ground-state entanglement entropy of free fermions on random graphs. We first establish a general criterion for the volume law on random graphs, based on the spectral characteristics of the Hamiltonian. We then apply this criterion to the Erdős--Rényi random graph, where each of the possible edges is present independently with some probability. Using random matrix theory and asymptotic freeness, we show that the ground-state entanglement entropy obeys an exact volume law in Erdős--Rényi graphs in the thermodynamic limit, with a universal coefficient that is independent of the edge probability of the graph. This coefficient is confirmed numerically to take the value approximately $0.3863$ nats, strictly below the Page value. The volume law therefore reflects the absence of geometric locality in the random graph.

2-Rényi CCNR negativity of compact boson for multiple disjoint intervals

Himanshu Gaur

A bstract We investigate mixed-state bipartite entanglement between multiple disjoint intervals using the computable cross-norm criterion (CCNR). We consider entanglement between a single interval and the union of remaining disjoint intervals, and compute 2-Rényi CCNR negativity for a 2d massless compact boson. The expression for 2-Rényi CCNR negativity is given in terms of cross-ratios and Riemann period matrices of Riemann surfaces involved in the calculation. In general, the Riemann surfaces involved in the calculation of n -Rényi CCNR negativity do not possess a Z n symmetry. We also evaluate the reflected Rényi entropy related to the 2-Rényi CCNR negativity. This reflected Rényi entropy is a universal quantity. We extend these calculations to the 2d massless Dirac fermions as well. Finally, the analytical results are checked against the numerical evaluations in the tight-binding model and are found to be in good agreement.
