Abstract

In today’s digital landscape, ensuring the security of data transmitted and stored in the cloud is paramount. Traditional encryption methods face challenges in scalability and susceptibility to quantum threats. This abstract presents a novel approach to cloud data security leveraging lightweight chaos encryption and quantum key distribution (QKD). The proposed mechanism combines the dynamic properties of chaos encryption, which offers high entropy and resistance to conventional attacks, with the quantum-level security provided by QKD. By integrating chaos-based encryption techniques with QKD protocols, our system achieves enhanced security for data communications in cloud environments. Furthermore, the lightweight nature of chaos encryption ensures efficient utilization of computational resources, making it suitable for cloud-based applications. This abstract outlines the theoretical framework and operational principles of the proposed security mechanism, highlighting its potential to address the evolving challenges of data security in cloud computing.

Quantum Cryptographic Protocols for Enhanced Cloud Security

Vinit Khetani

Quantum cryptographic protocols offer transformative potential for enhancing cloud security by leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics. These protocols ensure unbreakable encryption through quantum key distribution (QKD), where security is derived from the fundamental properties of quantum particles. Unlike classical encryption, which relies on computational complexity, quantum cryptography guarantees data protection by preventing unauthorized access, as any attempt to intercept quantum keys alters their state and can be immediately detected. This paper explores the application of quantum cryptographic protocols in securing cloud environments, addressing vulnerabilities posed by classical encryption techniques in the face of growing computational power. Key protocols, such as BB84 and E91, are analyzed for their potential in securing cloud infrastructure, offering enhanced confidentiality, integrity, and authentication of data. Additionally, this study highlights the integration of quantum cryptography with modern cloud architectures, overcoming challenges such as scalability and implementation cost. By employing quantum-resistant strategies, these protocols provide a robust defense against emerging threats from quantum computing, making them an essential solution for future-proof cloud security. The findings demonstrate that quantum cryptography, combined with advanced cloud security practices, can ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructures capable of protecting sensitive data in an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.

Quantum-Enhanced Security Advances for Cloud Computing Environments

Devulapally Swetha, Shaik Khaja Mohiddin

Recent developments in quantum-enhanced security have demonstrated encouraging promise for enhancing cloud computing environments' security. Utilizing quantum physics, in particular Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), provides a new method for generating cryptographic keys and improves cloud data transport security. The present study offers a thorough investigation of the integration of QKD with conventional encryption techniques, including Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), in order to tackle the dynamic cyber security scenario in cloud computing. The approach entails combining AES for encryption and decryption procedures and establishing a QKD layer within the cloud architecture to produce true quantum keys utilizing Quantum in Cloud technology. Data transmission security is greatly improved by the smooth integration of AES with QKD-generated keys, guaranteeing confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity. In addition, strong key management practices are put in place to handle cryptographic keys safely at every stage of their lifespan, reducing the possibility of unwanted access or interception. The suggested approach successfully addresses the difficulties presented by cyber threats by offering a robust and flexible means of enhancing security in cloud-based systems. Using both traditional and quantum encryption methods, this strategy provides a strong barrier against cyber-attacks, data leaks, and other security flaws. After 70 simulation rounds, the suggested strategy, which is implemented using the QKD-AES framework in Python software, achieved a data access rate of 820 MB/s. In addition to providing an accurate and quantitative assessment of the performance, this also exhibits a high data access rate attained under simulated conditions. At 15 milliseconds, the key generation time was achieved with efficiency, guaranteeing the quick creation of secure cryptographic keys in cloud environments. Overall, there is a lot of potential in using quantum-enhanced security techniques to protect sensitive data and guarantee the integrity of cloud computing infrastructures.

Advancing Quantum Cryptography Algorithms for Secure Data Storage and Processing in Cloud Computing: Enhancing Robustness Against Emerging Cyber Threats

Devulapally Swetha, Shaik Khaja Mohiddin

The rise of cloud computing has transformed data storage and processing but introduced new vulnerabilities, especially with the impending threat of quantum computing. Traditional cryptographic methods, though currently effective, are at risk of being compromised by quantum attacks. This research aims to develop a quantum-resistant security framework for cloud environments, combining lattice-based cryptography with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocols, particularly the E91 protocol, for secure key management. The framework also incorporates quantum authentication protocols to enhance user identity verification, protecting against unauthorized access and tampering. The proposed solution balances robust security with practical implementation, ensuring scalability and efficiency in real-world cloud environments. Performance evaluations indicate an encryption time of approximately 30 milliseconds, outperforming existing methods such as RSA and DES. This research contributes to the development of future-proof cryptographic standards, addressing both current security challenges and emerging quantum computing threats. By leveraging quantum mechanics, the framework strengthens cloud-based data protection, providing a resilient solution against evolving cyber risks. The results hold significant promise for advancing cloud security, laying the groundwork for next-generation encryption techniques that can withstand the threats posed by quantum computing.

Secure Big Data Framework Using Quantum Randomness and Chaotic Map-Based Key Sequences

B Neeraja, Ladly Patel, Taqy Aleobahaey +2 more

From the past few years, the rapid growth in quantum computing and large-scale data systems has created an important need for advanced encryption techniques that withstand quantum-level attacks. However, traditional cryptographic systems are becoming increasingly vulnerable, particularly in big-data environments. To overcome this limitation, this research proposes a secure framework for big data encryption namely Quantum-Chaotic Key-Based Encryption System (QC-KES), which combines quantum randomness and chaos theory to make highly secure encryption keys. Therefore, the methodology begins by producing a quantum random seed utilizing Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG). It is then enhanced through a chaotic logistic map to generate unpredictable key sequences that are securely shared using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD). Subsequently, quantum optical elements are tuned based on the key sequence to encrypt data at the hardware level. Moreover, Quantum Error Correction (QEC) confirms the signal integrity, while the data are encrypted, transmitted, and later decrypted by the shared key. This system improves key security, accuracy, and resistance to quantum-based threats. Finally, the proposed QC-KES obtained better results in entropy (8.000%) and avalanche effect (52.5 bits) when compared the existing Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) model.
