The Intersection of Quantum Computing, AI, and Cybersecurity: Challenges and Opportunities

Danda B. Rawat, Chandra Bajracharya

Recent advancements and the collaboration between the groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI), with the wider visibility sparked by generative AI in late 2022, and quantum computing technologies have the potential to revolutionize the world, reshape the tech industry, and mark the beginning of a new era of business disruption and innovation. Furthermore, quantum computing when combined with AI, has the potential to bring a new computing revolution surpassing today’s innovation by a wide margin for different fields including cybersecurity. In one hand, digital landscape has been complex making cybersecurity more crucial than ever. On the other hand, traditional methods of safeguarding information are being pushed to their limits with the rapid advancement of technologies. The emergence of quantum computing, combined with AI, is poised to revolutionize the field of cybersecurity, presenting both unprecedented opportunities and challenges. This paper presents challenges and perspectives when quantum-powered AI and cybersecurity meet for business and innovations.

European Quantum Future: An Urban Perspective

Irina Gorelova, Zoi Lachana, Michalis Avgerinos Loutsaris +2 more

In the era of digital transformation quantum technologies represent a new challenge for the society, industries, governmental sector. The benefits and consequences of the adoption of quantum technologies have yet to be fully explored. In this context the role these technologies will play in urban context is essential to explore. The present study examines the European Union’s quantum initiatives and its vision of the possible applications of quantum solutions. This study applies these considerations to the European urban context and explores it through the prism of public values created by the smart cities and smart city dimensions. The findings of this research highlight the socio-technical implications and transformative potential of quantum technologies on European smart urban environments and offer strategic insights for urban planners, policymakers, and city managers to prepare for the opportunities presented by quantum technologies.

Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) 3.0: Quantum Ledger-Based Multi-Currency Smart Exchange System

Mohamed Aswith. H, Densingh Joshua Israel, V.V.Kashimma +3 more

Despite rapid evolution of digital currencies, the demand for secure, fast and scalable cross border payment solution has emerged. At the moment, the frameworks for the existing Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) are slow for transactions, lack security, and are not capable of adjusting to the dynamic changes with respect to the exchange rate. This paper therefore suggests a novel Quantum Ledger Based Multi Currency Smart Exchange System (QL-MSES) to counter challenges Quantum computers are capable of, quantum cryptography, quantum ledger technology and machine learning driven prediction models. The real time sound synchronization of global transactions as well as unbreakable encryption are performed in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Entanglement Protocol (QEP systems in this system. AI-PEX proxies the rest of the world using deep reinforcement learning, and the remainder of the world input is passed through ACMA which dynamically selects the best exchange paths. In addition, the system includes the Homomorphic Encryption and Zero-Knowledge Proofs system, hence allowing the flow of information without jeopardizing the user’s privacy and without violating regulatory compliance. With this evaluation, this proposed QL-MSES is enabled to be faster with transactions, secured with data, and agile in exchanges when markets are volatile. The results of the performance evaluation show that QL-MSES offers higher efficiency and security than a conventional CBDC system. By employing this innovative solution, the applications of CBDC 3.0 can be utilised for cross border remittance, smart treasury management and decentralised finance, a revolutionary structure to adopt CBDC 3.0.
