Quantum economics is an interdisciplinary field that combines the principles of quantum mechanics and economic theories. The research examines the main theoretical and practical aspects of quantum economics, starting with its theoretical foundations based on the principles of quantum mechanics, such as superposition, uncertainty and entanglement, and ending with practical applications and perspectives for further research. Special attention was paid to the potential impact of quantum technologies on finance, marketing, supply chain management, as well as on macroeconomic planning and policy. It discusses how quantum algorithms can transform traditional approaches in economic research and practice, providing new methods for analyzing complex data, improving forecasting of economic trends, and optimizing decisions under uncertainty. Quantum economics opens up new perspectives for understanding dynamic and interconnected processes in the global economy, which can fundamentally change our perception of economic laws and strategies. It is emphasized that the quantum economy is at the initial stage of its development, and scientists and practitioners face many challenges and questions that need to be solved. In the future, we can expect the development of new tools for economic analysis and decisionmaking based on quantum computing, which will allow us to cope with current and future economic challenges more effectively. The quantum economy can also offer new approaches to risk management and financial security, especially in light of growing cyber threats and the need to protect economic information. Quantum economics is an exciting and promising direction that can significantly enrich both theoretical and applied aspects of economic science.
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, businesses are constantly seeking innovative solutions to gain a competitive edge, drive efficiency, and unlock new opportunities for growth. Quantum information technology stands at the forefront of this technological revolution, promising transformative capabilities that have the potential to redefine industries and reshape business operations. Quantum information technology harnesses the principles of quantum mechanics to revolutionize the way information is processed, communicated, and secured. Quantum technology extends beyond computing alone. Quantum communication offers unparalleled levels of security through the utilization of quantum principles such as entanglement and uncertainty. Quantum sensing enables ultra-sensitive measurements with applications ranging from medical diagnostics to environmental monitoring. Moreover, quantum cryptography provides provably secure encryption methods, ensuring the protection of sensitive data in an increasingly interconnected world. For businesses, the integration of quantum information technology presents a myriad of opportunities for transformation across various sectors. From optimizing supply chain logistics and enhancing data analytics to accelerating drug discovery and machine learning algorithms and revolutionizing financial modeling, the potential applications of quantum technology are vast and far-reaching. In this chapter we present an overview of the most important applications of Quantum Information Technology for Business Transformation.
This article investigates the impact of quantum computing (QC) as an emerging technology with the potential to benefit businesses and their technological infrastructure. The main objective is to describe the challenges organizations face when adopting it, as well as the opportunities it offers in increasingly competitive and strategically complex markets driven by exponential growth. The study also identified that, while quantum computing promises to revolutionize areas such as resource optimization, productivity efficiency, and the simulation of future scenarios—enabling better-informed decision-making and risk mitigation—its implementation encounters significant obstacles: high costs, the need for specialized talent, and new security risks. To address these barriers, hybrid models combining cloud and local infrastructure, as well as microservices, have emerged as practical alternatives, enabling organizations to access this technology without requiring substantial initial investment. Ultimately, this research contributes to the academic discussion that quantum computing is not a replacement but rather a complement that can be integrated gradually and carefully. The path forward requires efforts in education and policy to ensure accessible and ethical development, preventing it from becoming a tool reserved for only a few.
