Quantum teleportation is a building block in quantum computation and quantum communication. The continuous-variable polarization squeezed state is a key resource in quantum networks, offering advantages for long-distance distribution and direct interfacing of quantum nodes. Although polarization squeezed state has been generated and distributed between remote users, it is a long-standing goal to implement controlled quantum teleportation of the polarization squeezed state with multiple remote users. Here, we propose a feasible scheme to teleport a polarization squeezed state among multiple remote users under control. The polarization state is transferred between different remote quantum networks, and the controlled quantum teleportation of the polarization state can be implemented in one quantum network involving multiple remote users. The results show that such a controlled quantum teleportation can be realized with 36 users through about 6-km free-space or fiber quantum channels, where the fidelity of 0.352 is achieved beyond the classical limit of 0.349 with an input squeezing variance of 0.25. This scheme provides a direct reference for the experimental implementation of remote and controlled quantum teleportation of polarization states, thus enabling more teleportation-based quantum network protocols.

Quantum teleportation is widely applied as a key ingredient in quantum information science, and quantum network provides unique abilities for upscaling its applications. Polarization state of light is a vital degree of freedom with the advantages of remote transfer and direct light-atom interaction. To construct a multiuser quantum network, deterministic quantum teleportation of polarization state in more users' network remains challenging. Compared with photonic quantum state, the deterministic quantum teleportation network of polarization state is realized with a single set of continuous-variable entangled states. The key techniques include only one set of quadrature entangled network, single quadrature controller, and active polarization controller. Arbitrary polarization state is deterministically and controllably teleported in such a system involving four or three users. This system is deterministic and scalable with user number, which enables the potential application in deterministic metropolitan quantum network. Published by the American Physical Society 2024
A quantum teleportation network involving multiple users is essential for future quantum internet. So far, controlled quantum teleportation has been demonstrated in a three-user network. However, versatile and controlled quantum teleportation network involving more users is in demand, which satisfies different combinations of users for practical requirements. Here we propose a highly versatile and controlled teleportation network that can switch among various combinations of different users. We use a single continuous-variable six-partite Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state to realize such a task by choosing the different measurement and feedback operations. The controlled teleportation network, which includes one sub-network, two sub-networks and three sub-networks, can be realized for different application of user combinations. Furthermore, the coherent feedback control (CFC) can manipulate and improve the teleportation performance. Our approach is flexible and scalable, and would provide a versatile platform for demonstrations of complex quantum communication and quantum computing protocols.
A quantum internet connects remote quantum processors that need to interact and exchange quantum signals over a long distance through photonic channels. However, these quantum nodes operate at the wavelength ranges unsuitable for long-distance transmission. Therefore, quantum wavelength conversion to telecom bands is crucial for long-distance quantum networks based on optical fiber. Here, we propose wavelength conversion devices for single-photon polarization qubits using continuous-variable quantum teleportation that can efficiently convert qubits between near-infrared (780--795 nm suitable for interacting with atomic quantum nodes) and telecom wavelength (1300--1500 nm suitable for long-distance transmission). The teleportation uses entangled photon fields (i.e., nondegenerate two-mode squeezed state) that can be generated by four-wave mixing in a rubidium atomic gas using a diamond configuration of atomic transitions. The entangled fields can be emitted in two orthogonal polarizations with locked relative phase, making them especially suitable for interfacing with single-photon polarization qubits. Our work may pave the way for the realization of long-distance quantum networks.
Quantum teleportation is one of the most basic quantum protocols, which transfers an unknown quantum state from one location to another through local operation and classical communication by using shared quantum entanglement without physical transfer of the information carrier. And it has been widely used in various quantum information protocols such as entanglement swapping, quantum repeaters, quantum gate teleportation, quantum computation based on measurement, and quantum teleportation networks, which have important application value in quantum computation and quantum information. Quantum teleportation is a naturally bipartite process, in which an unknown quantum state can only be transmitted from one node to another. With the further development of quantum information research, it is necessary to transfer quantum states or quantum information among more and more nodes. Multipartite quantum protocols are expected to form fundamental components for larger-scale quantum communication and computation. A bipartite quantum teleportation should be extended to a multipartite protocol known as a quantum teleportation network. In this paper, a multifunctional quantum teleportation network is proposed theoretically. We first propose a special method of constructing four-partite quantum resources in continuous variables (CVs), and based on this, construct two different types of CV quantum teleportation networks. One type of network contains just one quantum teleportation process consisting of a sender, a receiver and two controllers. In this type of network, the unknown quantum state can be recovered at any other node according to the requirement after the measurement in the input node, which enriches the transfer direction and transfer mode of the unknown quantum state. And meanwhile, the two controllers can control the transfer of a quantum state from the sender to the receiver by restricting the sender and receiver’s access to their information, which makes the quantum teleportation network controllable. The other type of network has two quantum teleportation processes, each containing only a sender, a receiver and no controllers, which increases the number of quantum states that can be transmitted. Then we analyze the dependence of the fidelity of each quantum teleportation network on different physical parameters, and compare the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages among different types of quantum teleportation networks. The scheme for constructing a multifunctional quantum teleportation network in this paper shows some advantages, such as the greater number of quantum nodes, diversity of types, simple operation procedure. And all these advantages provide a broader application prospect for establishing larger and more complex quantum information networks in the future and quicken the pace of the application of quantum information.
Quantum network allows communication among more than two users with quantum teleportation and high quantum fidelity enabled by non-classical resources. As one of the most versatile architectures, all users are connected mediated by the central station in the star topology network, leading to the realization of the information interconnection and interoperability. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate a 4-branch continuous variable (CV) quantum teleportation network with star topology by employing entangled sideband modes from one squeezed state of light. Here, multiple pairs of entangled sideband modes are distributed on demand to central station and four nodes, respectively. Each node linked to the network has its own communication channel with the central station, where the deterministic CV quantum teleportation protocol is implemented with the fidelities above 0.830.
Abstract Quantum network scales the advantages of quantum communication protocols to more than two detached users, which offers great potential to realize the quantum internet. Here, a fully connected continuous‐variable (CV) quantum teleportation network architecture is presented, in which a squeezed state of light distributes each pair of entangled sideband modes to each communication link that bridges any pair of users. The quantum teleportation scheme is similar to standard two‐party ones for each communication link, without sacrificing communication capability and reliability. The demonstration based on CV‐entangled sideband modes opens an innovative possibility to implement many tasks of deterministic quantum information processing.
