Abstract

We study the symbols of linear operators generated by a finite unitary group. Under some assumptions, it is shown that the operator can be restored from its symbol. We also introduce symbols of mixed unitary quantum channels generated by finite unitary groups. An example illustrating the technique is given.

On characteristics of mixed unitary channels being additive or multiplicative with respect to taking tensor products

Grigori Gennadievich Amosov

We study mixed unitary channels generated by finite subgroups of the group of all unitary operators in a Hilbert space. Based on the majorization theory we introduce techniques allowing to calculate different characteristics of output states of channels. A class of channels has been allocated for which the use of entangled states doesn't give any advantage under taking supremum and infimum for output characteristics of channels. In particular, $l_p$-norms are multiplicative and the minimal entropy is additive with respect to taking tensor products of channels. As an important application of the obtained results the classical capacity of channel is calculated in the evident form. We compare our techniques with the informational characteristics of Boson quantum channels.

On Condition of Majorization for Mixed Unitary Channels

Grigori Gennadievich Amosov, L. A. Ryskin

Abstract We investigate the majorization procedure for mixed unitary quantum channels. The conditions under which we get the exact estimation are found. The example based upon projective unitary representations of Abelian groups is considered.

Quantum channels irreducibly covariant with respect to the finite group generated by the Weyl operators

Katarzyna Siudzińska, Dariusz Chruściński

In matrix algebras, we introduce a class of linear maps that are irreducibly covariant with respect to the finite group generated by the Weyl operators. In particular, we analyze the irreducibly covariant quantum channels, that is, the completely positive and trace-preserving linear maps. Interestingly, imposing additional symmetries leads to the so-called generalized Pauli channels, which were recently considered in the context of the non-Markovian quantum evolution. Finally, we provide examples of irreducibly covariant positive but not necessarily completely positive maps.

Reduction of unitary operators, quantum graphs and quantum channels

L. L. Salcedo

Abstract Given a unitary operator in a finite dimensional complex vector space, its unitary reduction to a subspace is defined. The application to quantum graphs is discussed. It is shown how the reduction allows to generate the scattering matrices of new quantum graphs from assembling of simpler graphs. The reduction of quantum channels is also defined. The implementation of the quantum gates corresponding to the reduced unitary operator is investigated, although no explicit construction is presented. The situation is different for the reduction of quantum channels for which explicit implementations are given.
