Abstract

In the cavity-magnonics system, the coupling between microwave photon and magnon is of beam-splitter (BS) interaction, which in general does not support steady-state entanglement in a vacuum environment. We propose a scheme to generate and enhance steady-state magnon-photon entanglement and one-way steering in cavity-magnonics system. By coupling microwave cavity mode and magnon mode to a common waveguide, the effective dissipative coupling of the cavity-magnonics system is derived. If there is only nondegenerate parametric (NP) dissipative coupling, entanglement is negatively affected by the effective gain of the cavity mode caused by the common waveguide environment. When the coherent coupling exists, effective gain of cavity mode can cancel the intrinsic dissipation. Consequently, the larger the intrinsic dissipation of cavity the better the entanglement. When the effective dissipative coupling with NP and BS coexist, the effective dissipation can be eliminated and the entanglement is significantly improved. In addition, we find that the asymmetric coupling of the two modes to the common waveguide leads to one-way steering, which means that the cavity mode can guide the magnetic mode, and the magnetic mode can not affect the cavity mode through local measurements. This property facilitates the development of the cavity-magnonics system towards quantum information processing.

Controlling Stationary One-Way Quantum Steering in Cavity Magnonics

Zhi‐Bo Yang, Xuan-De Liu, Xin‐Yi Yin +3 more

We show how to implement stationary one-way quantum steering with strong entanglement in a cavity magnonic system that consists of two magnon modes and a microwave cavity. The cavity is driven by a squeezed vacuum field generated by a flux-driven Josephson parameter amplifier and coupled to two Kittel modes via magnetic dipole interaction. We find that the steering directivity only depends on the ratio of two coupling rates (i.e., the ratio of coherent information exchange frequencies) and is barely affected by the dissipation of the system. Meanwhile, the entanglement and steering can be significantly enhanced due to the squeezed vacuum field and thus are more robust against thermal noises. This provides an active method to manipulate the steering directivity instead of adding asymmetric losses or noises to subsystems at the cost of reducing steerability.

Parametric controllable one-way quantum steering induced by four-wave mixing in cavity magnonics

Nan Wang, Zhi‐Bo Yang, Shiyan Li +2 more

Abstract Quantum steering plays a crucial role in quantum communication and one-way quantum computation. Here, we study quantum steering between two magnon modes in a cavity-magnonics system by applying a two-photon drive field to the microwave cavity. The two magnon modes are entangled and the one-way steering can be implemented when the four-wave mixing is triggered. Different from most schemes that use the dissipation of the system to control quantum steering, in our scheme the one-way steering can be modulated on demand by adjusting the coherent coupling ratio between the two magnons and the cavity, which provides a flexible and feasible way in experiments. We also reveal that the directionality of quantum steering is related to the mode populations, i.e., the mode with a larger population dominants the steering. Our study has high manipulability and may provide a promising platform for one-way quantum computing and communications based on macroscopic entanglement state.

Cooperative-effect-induced one-way steering in open cavity magnonics

Si‐Yu Guan, Hong‐Fu Wang, X. X. Yi

Abstract We propose to generate and control stationary one-way steering with strong entanglement between photon and magnon modes by the cooperative effect of coherent coupling and dissipative coupling. Due to the combination of two couplings, the system becomes a parity-time-like symmetric non-Hermitian system, and two exceptional points (EPs)-like appear in the real and imaginary parts of the eigenvalues. We demonstrate that the especially obvious quantum entanglement and perfect one-way steering can be obtained around two EPs-like. The continuous variable entanglement and steering produced by this cooperative effect show stronger robustness to environment temperature and system dissipation than that induced by nonlinearity. The one-way steering directivity can be controlled by the relative phase of cooperative dissipation and the frequency detuning of the magnon mode. Our work shows the controllability advantage of the open cavity magnonic system and may open up a platform for the generation of stationary one-way steering.

Quantum entanglement and one-way steering in a cavity magnomechanical system via a squeezed vacuum field

Wei Zhang, Tie Wang, Xue Yan Han +2 more

We propose a simple scheme to generate quantum entanglement and one-way steering between distinct mode pairs in a generic cavity magnomechanical system, which is composed of a microwave cavity and a yttrium iron garnet sphere supporting magnon and phonon modes. The microwave cavity is pumped by a weak squeezed vacuum field, which plays an important role for establishing quantum entanglement and steering. It is found that when the magnon mode is driven by the red-detuned laser, the maximum entanglement between cavity mode and phonon mode and the maximum phonon-to-photon one-way steering can be effectively generated via adjusting the ratio of two coupling rates. While under the much weaker magnomechanical coupling, the quantum entanglement and one-way steering between cavity mode and magnon mode can be achieved, where the steering direction is determined merely by the relative dissipation strength of the cavity to the magnon mode. More interestingly, we reveal that the robustness to the temperature for entanglement and steering between any mode pairs can be evidently enhanced by selecting the squeezing parameter appropriately.

Entanglement generation and steering implementation in a double-cavity-magnon hybrid system

Long‐Jiang Cong, Yi‐Xiong Luo, Zhigang Zheng +3 more

We demonstrate a scheme for the generation of bipartite and tripartite entanglement, as well as he implementation of stable and controllable long-distance one-way and asymmetric two-way steering in a cavity-magnon hybrid system. This system consists of a magnon mode and two coupled microwave cavities. The first cavity is driven by a flux-driven Josephson parametric amplifier, which generates squeezed vacuum fields, and is coupled to the other cavity through optical tunneling interaction. The second cavity and magnon mode are coupled through magnetic dipole interaction. We find that under weak coupling between the two cavities, and strong coupling between the second cavity and magnon mode, remote controllable one-way steering and tripartite entanglement can be achieved. Our scheme may have potential applications in quantum information.

Phase-controlled quantum entanglement and one-way steering in cavity magnonic system

Y.D. Ye, Qian-Cheng Li, Tian-Le Yang +1 more

We study phase-controlled quantum entanglement and one-way quantum steering in a cavity magnonic system, where two magnon modes couple to two microwave cavities driven by squeezed fields. The magnon-magnon entanglement and the steering directivity can be controlled by adjusting the ratio of the coupling strengths between cavity modes and magnon modes. In particular, the quantum entanglement and one-way quantum steering can be significantly enhanced by the squeezed vacuum field, which also exhibits robustness against temperature variations. More intriguingly, both quantum entanglement and steering between two magnon modes are susceptible to variations in the phase difference of two Josephson parametric amplifiers, and thus the phase-controlled quantum entanglement and one-way quantum steering can be achieved. Our scheme may have potential applications in quantum information.
