Information entropy of multi-qubit Rabi system

D. A. M. Abo-Kahla, Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty

We consider quantum information entropy phenomenon for multi-qubit Rabi system. By introducing different measurements schemes, we establish the relation between information entropy approach and Von Neumann entropy. It is shown that the information entropy is more sensitive to the time development than the Von Neumann entropy. Furthermore, the suggested protocol exhibits excellent scaling of relevant characteristics, with respect to population dynamics, such that more accurate dynamical results may be obtained using information entropy due to variation of the frequency detuning and the coupling constant.

Fidelity, fidelity susceptibility, and von Neumann entropy to characterize the phase diagram of an extended Harper model

Longyan Gong, Peiqing Tong

In an extended Harper model, the fidelity for the two lowest band-edge states corresponding to different model parameters, the fidelity susceptibility and the von Neumann entropy of the lowest band-edge states, and the spectrum-averaged von Neumann entropy are studied numerically. The fidelity is near one when parameters are in the same phase or same phase boundary; otherwise it is close to zero. There are drastic changes in fidelity when one parameter is at phase boundary. For the fidelity susceptibility the finite scaling analysis is performed. The critical exponents $\ensuremath{\alpha}$, $\ensuremath{\beta}$, and $\ensuremath{\nu}$ depend on system sizes for the metal-metal phase transition, while this is not so for the metal-insulator phase transition. At both phase transitions $\ensuremath{\nu}/\ensuremath{\alpha}\ensuremath{\approx}2$. The von Neumann entropy is near one for the metallic phase, while it is small for the insulating phase. There are sharp changes in the von Neumann entropy at phase boundaries. According to the variations of the fidelity, fidelity susceptibility, and the von Neumann entropy with model parameters, the phase diagram, which includes two metallic phases and one insulating phase separated by three critical lines with one bicritical point, can be completely characterized. These numerical results indicate that the three quantities are suited for revealing all the critical phenomena in the model.

1 The von Neumann Entropy of EPR Spin Correlation for the Relativistic Pairs

Yoshihisa Nishikawa

Variation of the von Neumann entropy by the Lorentz transformation is discussed. Taking the spin-singlet state in the center of mass frame, the von Neumann entropy in the laboratory frame is calculated from the reduced density matrix obtained by taking the trace over 4-momentum after the Lorentz transformation. As the model to discuss the EPR spin correlation, it is supposed that one parent particle splits into a superposition state of various pair states in various directions. Computing the von Neumann entropy and the Shannon entropy, we have shown a global behavior of the entropy to see a relativistic effect. We discuss also the super-relativistic limit, distinguishability between the two particles of the pair and so on. Recently, quantum states are treated as a resource of the quantum information. 1),2) In the information theory, the Shannon entropy quantifies the amount of information and the von Neumann entropy in quantum mechanics quantifies the
