Abstract : The financial sector faces escalating cybersecurity threats, exacerbated by the potential emergence of quantum computers capable of compromising widely used classical cryptographic methods. The paper includes an AI-enhanced general review on the use of quantum cryptography to secure financial transactions. Using machine learning methods to assess the principles, potential, and constraints to Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and PostQuantum Cryptography (PQC), the review is an improvement of the existing view of the current state of quantumsafe technologies. The opportunities and challenges in adopting these technologies in the key financial services, such as banking, digital payments, and blockchain, are analyzed. It has been identified that a hybrid approach that utilizes both QKD to perform secure key exchange and PQC to protect data over the long term can be considered an effective strategy. The review ends by identifying the main future research opportunities and the necessity of standardized, cost-efficient, and scalable quantum security solutions, guided by AI-informed insights, to protect the financial sector against future quantum attacks.

Financial transactions demand exceptionally robust security, especially in light of the rapid advancement of quantum computing, which poses a severe threat to classical cryptographic mechanisms used in modern banking systems. Among various financial operations, transaction processing remains the most critical and vulnerable component. To address this emerging challenge, we introduce a Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)-based secure framework for quantum-resistant financial transactions. The proposed architecture leverages lattice-based cryptographic security to ensure resilience against quantum attacks while preserving essential security attributes such as privacy, accountability, and data integrity. Furthermore, to demonstrate its effectiveness, the proposed framework is also compared with existing solutions in the literature.
With the rise of quantum computing, traditional cryptographic security measures are becoming increasingly vulnerable to attacks. The financial industry, heavily reliant on AI-driven transactions and blockchain technology, faces a significant challenge in ensuring data integrity and transaction security in the post-quantum era. This paper explores the integration of quantumresistant cryptographic techniques into blockchain networks to safeguard AI-driven financial transactions. By leveraging lattice-based cryptography, quantum key distribution (QKD), and zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), quantum-secure blockchain solutions enhance both security and efficiency. Empirical analysis demonstrates that quantum-resistant blockchain outperforms traditional cryptographic methods in securing financial transactions against quantum threats.
The financial sector faces escalating cyber threats amplified by artificial intelligence (AI) and the advent of quantum computing. AI is being weaponized for sophisticated attacks like deepfakes and AI-driven malware, while quantum computing threatens to render current encryption methods obsolete. This report analyzes these threats, relevant frameworks, and possible countermeasures like quantum cryptography. AI enhances social engineering and phishing attacks via personalized content, lowers entry barriers for cybercriminals, and introduces risks like data poisoning and adversarial AI. Quantum computing, particularly Shor's algorithm, poses a fundamental threat to current encryption standards (RSA and ECC), with estimates suggesting cryptographically relevant quantum computers could emerge within the next 5-30 years. The "harvest now, decrypt later" scenario highlights the urgency of transitioning to quantum-resistant cryptography. This is key. Existing legal frameworks are evolving to address AI in cybercrime, but quantum threats require new initiatives. International cooperation and harmonized regulations are crucial. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) offers theoretical security but faces practical limitations. Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is a promising alternative, with ongoing standardization efforts. Recommendations for international regulators include fostering collaboration and information sharing, establishing global standards, supporting research and development in quantum security, harmonizing legal frameworks, promoting cryptographic agility, and raising awareness and education. The financial industry must adopt a proactive and adaptive approach to cybersecurity, investing in research, developing migration plans for quantum-resistant cryptography, and embracing a multi-faceted, collaborative strategy to build a resilient, quantum-safe, and AI-resilient financial ecosystem
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Internet of Things (IoT) financial systems has ushered in a new era of autonomous decision-making, real-time analytics, and dynamic financial interactions. However, the advent of quantum computing presents an imminent threat to the cryptographic foundations of these systems, jeopardizing data confidentiality, transaction integrity, and system authenticity. This paper explores quantum-resistant cryptographic mechanisms—particularly lattice-based, hash-based, and multivariate polynomial cryptography—as viable defenses against quantum attacks on AI-powered IoT financial networks. The study reviews the vulnerabilities introduced by quantum algorithms such as Shor’s and Grover’s, assesses the performance and scalability of post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) protocols in real-world IoT financial deployments, and presents an optimized framework that balances cryptographic strength with computational feasibility. A hybrid security architecture is proposed, integrating PQC with AI-based anomaly detection to ensure end-to-end trust, resilience, and compliance with emerging quantum-secure standards. Through simulations and case-based evaluations, the findings underscore the critical importance of immediate cryptographic transition planning to safeguard future financial infrastructures.
