Abstract

The generation of squeezed light across dual octaves with single-mode multichannel nonlinear waveguides exhibits dynamic behavior. In this study, we examine the impact of coherent state initialization, channel interaction, nonlinearity strength, and inter-channel interaction on the generation of squeezed light over several channels. The findings demonstrate that the process of coherent state initialization and the addition of channel interaction significantly enhance the amount of squeezing, hence emphasizing their critical role in the optimization of squeezed light generation. Additionally, an occurrence of squeezing that is not dependent on nonlinearity is observed within a limited range of parameters. This presents opportunities for generating squeezed light in dual-octave systems with many channels.

Dual Octaves Multichannel Waveguides Squeezed Light Generation

Mohammad Zulkarnain Khan Bin Zulkifpeli, Rafael Julius

This paper investigates the squeezing properties and harmonic generation in a two-octave nonlinear waveguide system composed of channels exhibiting a second-order nonlinear effect. The channel converts an input frequency at the first harmonic to the second and subsequently to the fourth harmonic. The system equation is solved semi-analytically by using the normal ordered phase space representation. The results show consistent first harmonic squeezing across channels, while second and fourth harmonic squeezing vary significantly, with the center channels showing higher efficiency. As the harmonic generation progresses from the first harmonic to the fourth harmonic, the magnitude of squeezing typically decreases. These findings may provide valuable findings for enhancing higher-order harmonic generation and squeezing in nonlinear waveguide systems.

Squeezing across two harmonic generations utilizing coupled nonlinear waveguide systems

Mohammad Zulkarnain Khan Bin Zulkifpeli, Rafael Julius, Abdel-Baset M.A. Ibrahim

Abstract This study investigates the squeezing properties of light across a two-octave system consisting of multichannel single-mode nonlinear waveguides with evanescent coupling. The focus is on the first, second, and fourth harmonics generation. We analyze different input combinations and coupling setups to gain insight into how they impact the level of squeezing. The results show that multiple initial inputs amplify the squeezing effect, while certain initialization setups help maintain squeezing at higher harmonic levels. When the waveguides are fully coupled in the first octave, there is a large increase in squeezing at the first and second harmonic. Reduced coupling leads to a drop in the level of squeezing. At the fourth harmonic frequency, instability is observed in all configurations, which hinders the accurate detection of squeezing. By optimizing the quantity and arrangement of interconnected waveguides, it is possible to improve the nonlinear frequency conversion and thus the level of squeezing. This research may enhance the advancement of quantum optical systems by emphasizing the significance of coupling interactions across two harmonic generations.

Impact of Second Harmonic Coupling on Squeezed Light in Dual Octaves Multichannel Waveguides

Rafael Julius, Mohammad Zulkarnain Khan Bin Zulkifpeli

This study investigates the impact of second harmonic coupling on the performance and efficiency of a dual-octave nonlinear waveguide system. Comparative analysis of simulation data with and without second harmonic coupling shows significant enhancement in squeezing values and stability across all harmonics. Notably, the presence of second harmonic coupling enhances first harmonic squeezing from$\mathbf{10}^{-\mathbf{5}}$to$\mathbf{10}^{-\mathbf{3}}$, second harmonic squeezing from$\mathbf{10}^{-\mathbf{9}}$to$\mathbf{10}^{-\mathbf{3}}$, and stabilizes fourth harmonic squeezing at$\mathbf{10}^{-\mathbf{7}}$. Furthermore, the second harmonic coupling improves frequency conversion efficiency and ensures uniform squeezing distribution across waveguides. The findings show the critical role of second harmonic coupling in optimizing nonlinear waveguide systems for enhanced stability, efficiency, and squeezing performance.

Enhancing squeezing over two octaves of frequency difference

Rafael Julius, Azrul Nizam Alias, Muhammad Syawal Abd Halim

We report an examination on the possibility of generating enhanced squeezed light over two octaves of frequency difference, with each octave incorporating two-channel nonlinear waveguides suited for the fundamental, second, and fourth harmonic modes. We investigate the behavior of squeezing owing to the presence of evanescent coupling in scenarios for traveling-wave and intracavity cases. We show that the existing technique may generate enhanced squeezing in a frequency range spanning the fourth harmonic.

Squeezing over Two Octaves of Frequency Difference with Second Harmonic Coupling

Rafael Julius, Abdel-Baset M.A. Ibrahim

Abstract Using the quasiprobability positive P of phase space representation, we examine the features of squeezing over two octaves of frequency difference with each octave integrating two-channel nonlinear waveguides. The second harmonic coupling of the light fields is taken into account in the current arrangement. We discovered that single-mode squeezing is decreased by second harmonic coupling.

Quantum Properties in Nonlinear Coupler with Raman Process.

Mohd Syafiq M. Hanapi, Abdel-Baset M.A. Ibrahim

Abstract In this work, we have examined the generation of squeezed states of light in a two-waveguide coupler in which Raman processes are active in one waveguide. Both waveguides are mutually linearly interacting through the field’s evanescent waves. We looked at a few interesting cases in which the system generated single mode squeezed states due to spontaneous and stimulated Raman processes. Under specific combinations of design parameters and phase mismatching conditions, squeezed states may take the form of collapses and revivals, or the second quadrature of the optical mode may oscillate completely below the short-noise limit of a coherent state.
