We show the formation of matter-wave solitons from 7Li Bose-Einstein Condensate. Inter-atomic interactions are tuned magnetically in the vicinity of a Feshbach resonance. The soliton propagation without dispersion in an optical waveguide is demonstrated.

Probing quantum many-body physics with bright matter-wave solitons and ultracold polar molecules

Simon L. Cornish

We report the realisation of bright matter-wave solitons and the creation of ultracold RbCs molecules using quantum degenerate gases in combination with magnetically tunable Feshbach resonances with a view to exploring applications in many-body physics.
