Abstract

In order to strengthen the stability of IoT ecosystems, this study explores the interface between Internet of Things (IoT) security and quantum cryptography. Our study goals included assessing the applicability of quantum key distribution, correcting flaws, and investigating the influence of environmental variables on security. We reveal fascinating insights through experimental research that alter IoT security paradigms. A comparison of the typical key setup durations and data transmission rates across various IoT devices and communication protocols shows how effective quantum cryptography is in speeding up key distribution. This effectiveness fits the changing environment of secure communication technologies. Our vulnerability evaluation also shows that quantum key distribution is a potent defense against weaknesses like man-in-the-middle and replay assaults. It is made clear how contextual factors and security interact, emphasizing the importance of adaptable security measures in line with environmental circumstances. We present a comprehensive methodology that balances security with deployment circumstances by merging this contextual sensitivity with quantum cryptography concepts. Our research points to prospective directions for joint investigation between quantum physicists and IoT developers to close the gap between theoretical promise and actual use. Comprehensive insights will be obtained by scaling the use of quantum cryptography to larger IoT networks and other circumstances, but caution is needed to survive the upcoming quantum computing era. The study's conclusion ignites a paradigm change and pushes the quantum revolution into IoT security. Our research promotes more investigation, innovation, and application as we stand on the brink of a new era, protecting IoT ecosystems in a quantum-secure embrace.

Quantum IOT: Security and Communication Aspects

Vinay Kumar

Conventional cryptography relies only on the robustness of mathematical principles. Advancements in quantum computing may use reversible logic to calculate keys and easily compromise the security of traditional computers. The examination of the Internet of Things (IoT) network topology reveals that the whole system's backbone would disintegrate if subjected to an assault or hacking attempt. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a wireless technology that links various objects to the Internet. The Internet of Things (IoT) represents a revolution that must be safeguarded from attackers, since breaches might result in significant, perhaps deadly losses. Consequently, ensuring robust protection of user data in IoT is a significant problem. This study aims to explore the principles of Quantum Key Distribution, examine security considerations for the Internet of Things, and discuss the use of QKD in securing IoT systems. The problem faced is to enhance the range and transmission rate of data in Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems, while also exploring potential methods to integrate these systems with current information security measures.

Adil Ahmed Khan

The rapid implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has raised security concerns, therefore revealing significant vulnerabilities in many sectors, including smart cities, healthcare, and agriculture. This extensive analysis of quantum computing and IoT security devices delineates the advantages of quantum algorithms and the potential for securing communication. Protocols including quantum concepts such as superposition, entanglement, and quantum interference, leading to safe key distribution and authentication procedures, are examined. This paper introduces a novel strategy to reduce the risks that quantum computing presents to IoT systems, which current cryptography solutions fail to adequately address. Quantum computers may use these vulnerabilities to undermine key-pair formation and get private keys from transaction signatures. These transaction signatures are optimized for low-power, cost-effective microcontrollers, such as the ESP32, making the solution accessible for a diverse array of IoT devices. The report features a case study on a post-quantum secure portable device for detecting blood oxygen levels and heart rate, demonstrating the practical advantages and efficacy of the suggested method in improving IoT security against quantum threats. The review addresses quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols, quantum authentication methods proposed as solutions, and the difficulties associated with implementing quantum cryptography techniques in IoT systems. This review assesses the feasibility of quantum-enabled communication, explores its applications across several industries, and examines existing quantum software tools. The objective is to provide a basis for future research and effective practical solutions in the dynamic realm of IoT security.

P. Jesu Jayarin, D Beulah David, R. M. R. Shamija Sherryl +2 more

The exponential growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its integration into critical infrastructures has elevated the need for robust and future-proof security mechanisms. Traditional cryptographic systems, while effective today, are increasingly vulnerable to advancements in quantum computing. This paper explores the integration of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) as a novel security paradigm for next-generation IoT ecosystems. QKD leverages the principles of quantum mechanics to enable unconditionally secure key exchange, immune to computational attacks. We propose an architecture where QKD-enabled edge gateways and IoT nodes facilitate real-time secure communication through quantum-secured channels. The study analyzes the feasibility of implementing QKD in resource-constrained IoT environments and evaluates its performance in terms of key generation rate, latency, and energy consumption. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed QKD-IoT framework significantly outperforms conventional encryption protocols in resisting both classical and quantum-based attacks, making it a viable foundation for building post-quantum resilient IoT infrastructures. The research also outlines the challenges related to scalability, hardware integration, and key management, and proposes solutions through hybrid QKD-classical cryptography models. This work paves the way for a quantum-secure IoT future, ensuring trust, privacy, and integrity in hyper-connected digital ecosystems.
