Abstract

Although classical computing has brought great convenience to mankind’s lives, classical computing is facing some problems. Combining computer science, information theory, and quantum mechanics, quantum information has been developed in many fields. Quantum gates can operate quantum bits, the carrier of quantum information, while quantum circuits are composed of quantum gates and quantum bits, showing the logic of operations. This study summarizes the fundamental concepts of quantum informatics: qubits, quantum circuits, and quantum gates where it is proved that single-bit quantum gates and CNOT gates are universal quantum gates. In addition, this research also demonstrates the current progress of quantum gates in the examination of fidelity of quantum gates, improvement of fidelity of quantum gates, and teleportation of quantum gates. Meanwhile, according to the current development status, the limits and prospects of quantum information are discussed. These results shed light on helping readers understand the basic concepts of quantum information, thus understand the future applications and developments in quantum information.

Quantum Computing Models for Information Processing: A Comprehensive Study

Sulochana Sonkamble, Balwant A. Sonkamble

AbstractThe quantum computing has been proven to provide the solutions to most complex computations in the world today. Quantum computers can solve the problems with polynomial resources. Quantum information can be encoded in a number of ways, such as spin components of basic particles like photons, electrons, and polarization of photons. The quantum computer uses quantum bits which are superposition of states called as qubits, which is the classical fundamental unit of information. A quantum computer is a regular classical computer with additional ability to control the quantum bits. It is a regular computer connected to a special peripherals and a set of quantum bits simulated to build controller architecture. Two simulators are used for the quantum programming, one is Microsoft Q# and other is IBM Qiskit. Classical language Q # is used to program the quantum controller and its operations such that initializing a qubit, applying a gate on a qubit and measuring a qubit. IBM Qiskit programs simulates the functionality of quantum circuit and creates it’s drawing using a graphical interface with qubits, gates, and measurements. Qiskit provides simulators that run quantum circuits using visualization tools that help to understand the effect of our quantum circuits on the quantum states. The teleportation technique allows the quantum information to be communicated at a distance. An unbreakable encryption protocol is built for polarizing photons through the quantum channel. The combination of quantum computing and AI has the potential to drive significant advances across many sectors.

Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Zuhair Arfeen, Arbaz Khan Orakzai +1 more

In the endless striving to push the boundaries of information processing capabilities, the competition that rages today between Quantum Bits and Classical Bits has become the central area of interest in modern research. The research elucidates and analyzes the distinct characteristics of these two fundamental units of information. It also critically examines their prospective futures in computing. In this article, a comprehensive comparison between Classical Bits - the binary entities that constituted classical computing for decades - and quantum bits - quantum mechanical counterparts that realize the principles of superposition and entanglement - is given. The research is based on the fundamental principles of classical and quantum computers, information units, logic circuits, time scaling dissimilarities, and complexity of algorithms. This article fills this gap by providing a comprehensive and structured comparative analysis of Classical Bits and quantum bits, examining their foundational principles, logic circuit realizations, algorithmic complexity, and computational scalability. The study offers a consolidated perspective that helps clarify the fundamental differences and practical implications of classical versus quantum computation, thereby supporting researchers and practitioners in understanding the computational advantages and limitations of both paradigms. Key observations include: The world has witnessed that classical computers have emerged vastly over the decades, in terms of memory sizes and computing speeds. For this reason, classical computers are used in nearly all fields. Nevertheless, in many fields, classical computers are less effective in solving complex problems in terms of accuracy, speed, and efficiency. Therefore, research exploring the exceptional features - entanglement and superposition - of qubits or Quantum Bits explores how quantum phenomena give rise to new modalities in computing.
