Regulation of optical response by Casimir force in hybrid Laguerre–Gaussian rovibrational cavity with a three-level atom

Inaam Ul Haq, Naeem Akhtar, Jia‐Xin Peng +1 more

Abstract This study conducts a theoretical analysis to examine the characteristics of the output weak probe field in a hybrid Laguerre–Gaussian rovibrational cavity optomechanical system that includes a Λ-type three-level atom. Specifically, this optomechanical system comprises two mirrors: one is stationary, while the other vibrates and rotates simultaneously. The rovibrational mirror, equipped with an external plate, generates the Casimir force (CF). The presence of atom and CFs have effects on the output probe field, and we also investigate how adjusting system parameters can achieve the switching of the number of transparent windows and reveal an interesting finding of multiple (4) transparency windows within a single-cavity system. We believe that our work may have potential for applications in quantum communication systems and multi-channel quantum information processing.

Multiple transparency windows in an atom-assisted Laguerre–Gaussian rovibrational cavity

Fazal Badshah, Muhammad Luqman Murtza, Sobia Asghar +1 more

Abstract An atom-assisted Laguerre–Gaussian rovibrational cavity is proposed to demonstrate the characteristics of the output probe field. The cavity comprises a fixed and moving mirror with a two-level qubit inside it, and the moving mirror can vibrate and rotate simultaneously. The addition of the qubit affects the output probe field properties, and the study explores the impact of various parameters on transparency windows. The article reports a new discovery of triple-transparency windows in a single-cavity system. The study also investigates the slow and fast light propagation in the output probe field and discusses the Stokes and anti-Stokes powers in the proposed cavity system. The findings have implications for the development of future optical devices and quantum communication systems.

Fano Resonance and Slow-to-Fast Light Conversion in a Laguerre-Gaussian Rovibrational Cavity

Yi Xu, Wenjing Liu

The orbital angular momentum of optical fields, besides the amplitude, frequency, and phase, offers a new degree of freedom to manipulate the light-matter interactions. Here, Fano resonance and slow-to-fast light conversion in a Laguerre-Gaussian rovibrational cavity are investigated. The system consists of a Fabry–Pérot cavity with two spiral phase elements acting as the cavity mirrors, in which one of the spiral phase elements is fixed while the other can vibrate as well as rotate. Fano resonances are observed by adjusting the frequency detuning between the cavity and the driving fields. Double Fano resonances are observed for the Laguerre-Gaussian rovibrational cavity with different vibrational and rotational frequencies. Both the slow and fast light can be achieved with the same setup, which is controlled by the topological charge value and the frequency detuning between the probe and driving fields, thus providing a flexible and effective way to manipulate the slow-to-fast light conversion.
