Abstract

We present the results of studying the characteristics of Rydberg alkali atomic systems in a black-body (BBR; thermal) radiation field, in particular, BBR induced Stark shift coefficient k. As theoretical approach the combined generalized relativistic energy approach and relativistic many-body perturbation theory (PT) with ab initio Dirac zeroth approximation is applied. Application of theory to computing the spectral parameters of studied atomic systems have demonstrated physically reasonable agreement between the theoretical and experimental data. carefully. It should be noted that our method takes carefully into account such important factors as the implementation of a gauge invariance principle when calculating the corresponding matrix elements, the correct degree of consideration of complex exchange-correlation effects (primarily, the effect of polarization of the core), and also generates a fairly optimal one-quasiparticle representation in within the limits of many-body relativistic PT with ab initio zeroth Dirac-Fock (Kohn-Sham) approximation. In any case, the formalism developed in this work, as it follows from the given results, can be used for precise calculations of the Stark shift coefficient k, the BBR shift parameter β, and other parameters.

We present the results of studying the spectroscopic characteristics of heavy Rydberg atomic systems in a black-body (thermal) radiation field. As theoretical approach we apply the combined generalized relativistic energy approach and relativistic many-body perturbation theory with ab initio Dirac zeroth approximation. There are presented the calculational data for the thermal black-body radiation ionization characteristics of the alkali Rydberg atoms, in particular, the sodium in Rydberg states with principal quantum number n=10-100 and ytterbium ion. Application of theory to computing the spectral parameters of studied atomic systems have demonstrated physically reasonable agreement between the theoretical and experimental data. The accuracy of the theoretical data is provided by a correctness of the corresponding relativistic wave functions and accounting for the exchange-correlation effects.

Pavel A. Zaichko, A. Kuznetsova, Andrey V. Tsudik +1 more

We present the results of relativistic calculation of the radiative transition probabilities and excited states lifetimes for a heavy Rydberg atomic systems in a black-body (thermal) radiation field on example of the rubidium. As theoretical approach we apply the combined generalized relativistic energy approach and relativistic many-body perturbation theory with ab initio Dirac zeroth approximation. There are obtained the calculational data for the radiative transition probabilities and excited states lifetimes, in particular, the rubidium atom in the Rydberg states with principal quantum number n=10-100. It is carried out the comparison of obtained theoretical data on the effective lifetime for the group of Rydberg nS states of the rubidium atom at a temperature of T = 300K with experimental data as well as data of alternative theoretical calculation based on the improved quasiclassical model. It is shown that the accuracy of the theoretical data on the radiative transition probabilities and excited states lifetimes is provided by a correctness of the corresponding relativistic wave functions and accounting for the exchange-correlation effects.

NEW RELATIVISTIC MODEL POTENТIAL APPROACH TO SENSING RADIATIVE TRANSITIONS PROBABILITIES IN SPECTRA OF HEAVY RYDBERG ATOMIC SYSTEMS

В. Б. Терновський, О. В. Глушков, П. О. Заїчко +2 more

We have presented an effective relativistic approach for sensing and calculating energy of levels, probabilities and oscillator strengths (transition amplitudes, lifetimes) of a number of radiative transitions in the spectra of heavy Rydberg atoms of alkaline elements. It represents a new version of the relativistic model potential method. The approach is based on the relativistic many-body gauge-invariant perturbation theory with the improved Dirac-Kohn-Sham zeroth approximation and relativistic energy approach (S-matrix adiabatic Gell-Mann and Low formalism). We have shown that that during computing the energy and spectroscopic characteristics of the multielectron Rydberg atomic systems a new approach provides a precise accounting exchange-correlation effects, including effect of essentially non-Coulomb grouping of Rydberg levels, pressure continuum. There are received precise data on energy and spectroscopic parameters energy, radiation width, amplitude transitions, the lifetime) for Rydberg atoms Rb, Cs, Fr, particularly, transitions nS½→n’P½,3/2 (n=5,6; n’=10-70), nP½,3.2→n’D3/2,5/2 (n=5,6; n’=10-80) in the Rb, Cs spectra; for Rydberg Fr there are in most first calculated and predicted spectroscopic data on transition amplitude, lifetime of Rydberg states and transitions 7S½-nP½,3/2, 7P½,3.2-nD3/2,5/2 (n=20-80). Regarding the application of the obtained data it can be indicated on carrying out new types of radiative quantum sensors and frequency standards, quantum electronics and different quantum devices.
