A novel cryptographic encryption technique of video images using quantum cryptography for satellite communications

Quist-Aphetsi Kester, Laurent Nana, Anca Christine Pascu

In today's world where drones play a major role in military warfare and domestic surveillance activities, there is a need for transmission of secured video images without any intrusion by a third party. Any intrusion by an adversary should easily be detected in real-time and the compromised information should be virtually impossible to decipher. This paper proposed a new method of encryption of video images using quantum key distribution and visual cryptographic technique. The key agreement process was done using quantum key distribution and the generated key was be used by the proposed encryption algorithm.

QCrypt: Advanced Quantum-based Image Encryption for Secure Satellite Data Transmission

Mohamed Ihsan P.M, Arun Amaithi Rajan, V. Vetriselvi +2 more

With the advancements in satellite communication, there arises a demand for the secure transmission of satellite and remote sensing images to the ground monitoring stations which has significant challenges due to the increased threat of cyber-attacks and the sensitive nature of those images. Existing classical cryptography methods fail to meet the advanced security demands. Thus, there arises a need for advanced cryptography techniques which ensure secure transmission of data in satellite communication. Recent advancements in quantum computing and research have shown that leveraging quantum mechanics and principles enhances security. We propose a novel quantum-based image encryption technique for securing satellite and remote sensing images during transmission named QCrypt. QCrypt utilizes the power of quantum chaotic maps, classic chaotic maps, and DNA encoding techniques to ensure the security of the images. QCrypt has been tested using a remote sensing image dataset and achieved increased performance in terms of resistance to histogram analysis, differential attacks, and chosen- plaintext attacks compared to traditional encryption methods. Our approach addresses the critical need for secure satellite data transmission and the use of quantum-based encryption to meet security demands.

Securing the Future: Advanced Encryption for Quantum-Safe Video Transmission

Yashas Hariprasad, Sitharama S. Iyengar, Naveen Kumar Chaudhary

The rapid growth of digital communication and video transmission has brought about an urgent need for robust encryption methods to ensure the security and integrity of video data. Traditional encryption techniques, while effective, face increasing challenges from advancing computing capabilities. Quantum cryptography has emerged as a promising solution to secure video transmission. In this article, we propose a novel cutting-edge Hybrid Quantum Video Encryption Framework. Our key idea is to integrate the strengths of quantum encryption and the classical video transmission paradigm to enhance the security of video transmission. By combining the proposed quantum encryption framework which uses a pseudorandom number generated key to perform a row-wise XOR operation along with the secure SSL-encrypted HTTP transmission over the internet, this framework provides a robust defense against threats. The experimental simulation conducted under the new computational integrated paradigm shows the strong encryption capability of the proposed method. The superior performance of the proposed method as validated through statistical analysis, outperforms the state-of-the-art video encryption frameworks in terms of Information Entropy and Correlation Coefficient for encrypted plain images offering a significant advancement in the field of secure video transmission.
