Abstract

Today, major corporations such as IBM, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are racing to build cloud quantum computers. They integrate quantum computers with cloud computing to create a system that can be accessible via a network without the need for quantum computing power in a cloud computing environment. The authors describe cloud quantum computing in this chapter and conduct research to compare cloud quantum computing providers across the globe. In this study, the authors look at the various cloud quantum computing options and the outcomes they provide. At the conclusion, each cloud quantum computing service will be compared based on its performance, amplitudes, times, and architecture. The study will primarily focus on IBM and Qutech cloud quantum computing technologies.

Abstract Quantum computing is one of the most advanced technologies of the 21st century that, by utilizing the principles of quantum mechanics, provides the ability to process complex problems in much less time than classical systems. However, access to quantum hardware is limited for most researchers and organizations due to high cost and technical challenges. Quantum Cloud Computing provides a new solution for remote access to this advanced computing power. This article reviews the fundamental concepts of quantum computing and its hybrid model with cloud computing, and analyzes existing architectures, infrastructures, benefits, and challenges. It also reviews active platforms such as IBM Quantum Experience, Amazon Braket, Microsoft Azure Quantum, and Google Quantum AI. It then discusses practical applications such as optimization, cryptography, chemical simulation, and quantum machine learning in the cloud. Challenges such as quantum noise, qubit limitations, security issues, and the need for standardization are also analyzed. The article concludes by examining the future of quantum computing in cloud environments, providing a summary table of key topics and up-to-date resources.

Quantum Computing in The Cloud - A Systematic Literature Review

Amirul Asyraf Zhahir, Siti Munirah Mohd, Mohd Ilias M Shuhud +4 more

Quantum computing was proposed to simulate processes that surpass the capabilities of its counterpart, classical computing. Utilizing the principles of quantum mechanics, it improves the computing power of quantum computing. Top developers namely IBM, Rigetti, D-Wave, Qutech and Google have invested greatly in the technology. Nowadays, users can access the quantum computing system publicly over the network in a cloud environment, this system architecture is known as cloud-based quantum computing. However, different developers deliver different architecture and functionality of the system on their platforms. This has indirectly spawned a question of which cloud-based quantum computing platform is a better option based on certain specific requirements by an individual or group. The main objective of this study is to provide a proposed framework using the existing cloud-based service of quantum computing based on previous studies for users with their specific demands.

Cloud Quantum Computing Concept and Development: A Systematic Literature Review

Haryono Soeparno, Anzaludin Samsinga Perbangsa

A cloud quantum computer is a quantum computer that can be accessed in a cloud environment through a network. Today, there are numbers of cloud quantum computing services that can be accessed by users. They are used to solve complex problems that require powerful computing. Different cloud quantum computing services deliver different architecture and performances. In our study, we conducted a research on some services to test and evaluate the performances of different cloud quantum computing services and make a comparison out of it. The test will be conducted using two different methods such as visual programming and qiskit. From the result, we can see that the amount of qubit per backend and shots per run pretty much affect the execution time of a cloud quantum computing. This test will give the users some insight and enables them to decide which cloud quantum computing services deliver better performance or faster execution time based on the specification each cloud quantum computer offers.
