Abstract

This paper introduces the effective Hamiltonian of two two-level atoms inside a cavity with a movable mirror. The temporal evolution of the output density state that includes the interaction between movable mirror, atoms, and field is obtained. The dynamical properties of the quantum correlations of the system are studied via l1-norm of coherence, Entanglement of Formation (EoF) and Bell non-locality. The results shown that the phenomena of coherence, and non-locality are approached to the degree of entanglement as the initial atomic state is set in an excited state. However, different chaotic behavior is generated for the coherence at the initially mixed state. Overall, the temporal evolution of entanglement is an intermediate correlation that lies in between coherence and normalized Bell non-locality.

Entanglement swapping in two independent atom-cavity-optomechanical systems

Qinghong Liao, Qi Zhang, Nanrun Zhou +1 more

We investigate the dynamics of entanglement between two remote, macroscopic, mechanical modes in a model consisting of two cavities, with each cavity containing a two-level atom and having one movable mirror. The results show that the time evolution of entanglement exhibits periodic behavior that does not depend on the atomic coherent angles and that the amount of entanglement increases with increasing atomic coherent angle. A maximally entangled state between mechanical modes can be prepared. We find a simple method for inferring the entanglement properties between two mechanical modes. We propose a potential way to control and manipulate the entanglement.

Properties of linear entropy of the atom in a tripartite cavity-optomechanical system

Qinghong Liao, Wenjie Nie, J Xu +6 more

Abstract We investigate the dynamics of linear entropy of an atom in a tripartite cavity-optomechanical system consisting of a two-level atom in a high-finesse optical cavity with a vibrating mirror at one end. The influence of atomic coherence on the time evolution of linear entropy is examined. It is shown that a Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger like state can be generated. Moreover, it is found that the entanglement between the atom and the subsystem of field and mirror can be controlled by atomic coherence and the parameters of optomechanical coupling coefficient and atom-field coupling strength.

Measure of general quantum correlations in optomechanics

Mohamed Amazioug, Mostafa Nassik, Nabil Habiballah

In this paper, we analyze nonclassical correlations between bipartite states in two optomechanical systems. The first system (Sec. 2) consists of two nanoresonators spatially separated by broadband squeezed light, where each cavity has a fixed mirror and a movable one. The second system (Sec. 3) is an atom-optomechanical system consisting of an atomic ensemble placed inside an optical nanoresonator with a vibrating mirror. For both optomechanical systems, we give the Hamiltonian and the explicit expression of covariance matrix leading to the quantum equations describing the dynamic evolution of the system. Then, the nonclassical correlations are quantified using the logarithmic negativity and Gaussian quantum discord. We propose also a scheme for examining the evolution of Gaussian quantum steering and its asymmetry in each system. We show that the entanglement of the two mechanical modes is very strongly related to the parameters characterizing the environment where the movable mirrors evolve, in particular the squeeze parameter, the optomechanical cooperativity and thermal bath temperature.

Chaos and entanglement in atomic systems interacting with photons

Alexander V. Gorokhov

The influence of chaotic behavior of coherent state (CS) parameters on entanglement dynamics in system of two level atoms and photons in cavity is investigated. The initial state of the system is chosen as factorized production of photon and atomic coherent states. To find a solution of the Schrödinger equation, we presented the time-dependent wave function in the form of a wave packet in CS representation. The phase portraits and Poincare sections for classical dynamics of CS were computed, and time dependence of the mean number of photons level populations and atomic entropy were calculated in quantum case. The analysis showed that the chaotic behavior in quantum-optical Dicke model increases the degree of entanglement in the atomic subsystem. At the same time greater entanglement is generated when selecting the initial atomic CS parameters near the center of the corresponding Poincare sections. It is considered dynamics of two identical two-level atoms in non-ideal cavity (nonideal Tavis-Cummings model). Accounting for decay showed that the generation of atomic entanglement is accompanied by the return of the initial separable state (”death” of entanglement), but this behavior with the increase of the initial parameter of the field CS is only at sufficiently small times. Influence of detuning and damping constants are considered.

Hierarchy of temporal quantum correlations using a correlated spontaneous emission laser

Shakir Ullah, Haleema Sadia Qureshi, Fazal Ghafoor

As an active quantum system, the correlated spontaneous emission laser has many valuable applications in quantum information processing. Here, we report on temporal evolution of the quantum correlations such as quantum discord, entanglement, steering, and Bell non-locality for the field retrieved in the form of two-mode Gaussian state using a system of correlated spontaneous emission laser. We consider the initial modes of the cavity field as two independent arbitrary single-mode Gaussian states inside the cavity. The density matrix for the resulting cavity field is evaluated both analytically and numerically with respect to the time evolution of the laser system. The influences of the non-classicality and purity of the initial cavity modes, the Rabi frequency of the classical coupling field, and the cavity damping rates are studied thoroughly. We show explicitly that the boundaries for the four kinds of the temporal quantum correlations of the cavity field retrieved satisfy a strict hierarchy.

Macroscopic entanglement in optomechanical system induced by non-Markovian environment

Xinyu Zhao

In this paper, the non-Markovian dynamics of an optomechanical system is analyzed by using the non-Markovian quantum state diffusion (NMQSD) method. An exact solution is obtained for the system composed of a Fabry-Pérot (F-P) cavity with two movable mirrors without the linearization of the Hamiltonian. Based on the solution, we find that the memory effect of the non-Markovian environment can be used to generate macroscopic entanglement between two mirrors. In order to achieve the maximum entanglement generation, the non-Markovian properties of the environment have to be chosen carefully depending on the properties of the system. Then, we also show that the coherence (superposition) in the initial state may produce entanglement in the evolution. At last, we show the entanglement sudden death and revival significantly depend on the strength of the memory effect, and the entanglement revival can be only observed in non-Markovian case. Our treatment, as an example, paves a way to exactly solve a large category of optomechanical systems without the linearization of the Hamiltonian.
